Old Men at Midnight

Hey everyone,
I just finished up reading Old Men at Midnight by Chaim Potok, and I found myself confused on the last story towards the end (The Trope Teacher). I don't understand what it means at the end with the "unknown person", in the man's study. Was that figurative, or literal? and if it was figurative, what exactly did it mean? Thank-you for any attempt, because this is going to itch at my brain until I understand.

ok so there is this boy liked sennce 2003-2005 right and this year its like i really really like him i catch him looking at me and i be looking at him and he catches me and i be rolling my eyes tryin to hide it but he knows that i like him b/c he be askin me if i like him i be saying no but then he be saying that he know that i like him and stuff and i be smiling trying not 2 but it happends and i catch him and its like i just stare @his eyes 4 ever till im late to class or someone bumps into me :) but does he like me, just teasing me, or just trying to be a flirt!!!!!!!

Ok.. well me and my ex broke up about i say a month ago b.c of some rumors going around and so he said that we should break up for a lil bit to let it all pass by then try back again... and its been lke a month now, and I still love,care, and feel for him alot. i try to talk to him about it but i guess u could say hes not the type to express his ways but he did say he felt the same way, but i want to get back with him so bad.. I miss him so much and hes my first love... i guess what im askin is how do i tell him what im tellin you? he means alot to me and idk what to do...

Me and my boyfriend have been going out for more than a month now, he's really shy but i no he really likes me. We haven't hugged, kissed, held hands, etc. all we did was say i love you and call each other and those little things. For valentines day i want him to at least hug me... but i don't know if he is ready for that because he is so shy... how can i tell if he is? What do i do? I am really confused... i rate 5's... pleaz help...

Omg, im stressing out seriously. Okay, well my boyfriend just broke up with me, my mom is always flipping out on me now, my best friend is mad at me for cutting. and nothing left of happiness is left in me. he lied about drugs

my boyfriend used to be a big druggy before we went out. i'm a huge anti-drug person! he told me the day before he asked me out that he had quit! i was very proud of him and all, but resently someone who didn't even know we were going out told me that they saw him smoking a cig about a week after we started going out! so now he lied to me and is doing drugs (which i really hate!) the other person who told me could have made it up, but my bf has lied to me before! what should i do???

Alright, well I'm a 14/f and I'm not ugly( not in a conceited way at all, please) but I'm not the 'hottest girl at school'. I'm friends with many, but I just can't get a boyfriend. I have been asked out about 3 times, but turned them down because I knew I didn't like them. But now, as a nineth grader, I'm craving for a boyfriend, not so much for 'action' but I just want to be in love, one of those' aww how cute' sort of things? And I guess you can say I've fallen for this one guy, but I can feel he only considers me as one of his friends, I mean I think he's great, funny, cute, nice, smart..and all that -jazz-.
