Hey I'm doing a science project on making ice cream. I don't understand what this means, so can someone better explain it for me:
"Adding gelatin directly to a warm mix may cause it to turn into a stringy mass. For this reason, recipies call for softening gelatin in a bit of cold liquid, which is then heated and stirred once or twice until the gelatin dissolves. Use either a small saucepan over low heat or a microwave set on high for one minute."
I'm lost on that second sentence and not sure what to do exactly. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

How do you get someone to finally let you into their hearts. Ok so theres this guy and I really really like him. We've never talked but hes so so cute I can't get over it. He has like, the perfect smile and he's adorable. Ever since I first saw him ,which was a while ago, I've wanted to be with him. I know it sounds cheesy or obsesive but I'm not. I mean if I was I would have talked to him already right? Well I really want to talk to him but I think it might be kinda awkward if I talk to him out of no where. No one knows I've liked him yet. But I might tell someone soon. How to lose 10 pounds?

I'm 13, and I weight 115 lbs. I want to drop a few pounds so that my thighs are slimmer and my stomach doesn't poke out of my shirt. Most of me is pretty skinny except for those 2 areas. I'm horrible with commitment so how do I take off the weight and keep it off? ( I'm very busy so exercising for a long time is a no, I'm not good at staying with the "no soda" act either)

cheersquad or a death squad?

I'm the co-captain for my middle school's cheer squad. There are 3 girls specificly that talk bad about, make fun of, and put all the other girls down. They won't listen to anything I say and if I make a descision they don't like they simply to not do what they are supposed to. They act like they rule the squad. I've had many complaints about these girls hurting other teamates feelings and talked to my captain about this but those 3 girls are her best friends and since she doesn't wanna have to yell at them about it she ignores the problem. I have an appointment to get an STD test done on Monday. Do you know how they give these tests? I am on my period. Does that affect the test at all? Just explain what the doctors will do from the minute I walk into the office, to the minute I leave. Please and thanks.

I've known this guy my whole life and have never really been interested. We've always been friends and he's known to many people as the guy who's always looking to get laid.
We're both transfering college right now so this semester we're both kind of taking it easy at home and going to community college (I'm 20/f btw). Lately he's been IMing and calling me like everyday to hang out and sometimes is pretty vulgar. It's more jokingly than like offensive though.

does anyone have any suggestions on how to be more open? i've been too used to keep everything to myself. most of the time that i have expressed my feelings about something or a problem, i find that i made things worse, or hurt others. i do want to be more open, but almost everytime i try my feelings get the best of me. my girlfriend has been such a big help - i actually do like to tell her everything - but i wouldn't want to hurt her by being moody when my feelings do get the best of me... any advice? thanks - its much appreciated.
