a poem for him
This is a poem I wrote about my ex-boyfriend answering a poem he wrote to me when we started dating and my best friend thinks I should give it to him along with a copy of his own can you help me? Heres my poem:
Clipped Wings
I’d been flying through the darkness for a while
Now I’m falling to the ground, my wings have been clipped
My fear consumes every word I whisper and every thought I create
If I’ve shown you what you’ve wanted, why have you ended this dream?
I wish I could turn it back a bit
You’ve been worth all the tears and pain if it means I will get my wish
You can make me wait an eternity to receive your love,
You can beat me for years but when ever you look in my eyes,
You’ll still see my love for you reflected within
You froze time for me when you pushed me to the side
Got me realizing that I lost you in that moment
I’ll be your wings when you’re ready to fly
Bet you didn’t dream someone would care for you like this
