Well, within the past couple monthes I've changed drastically. A lot of people say I look a lot older and stuff. I'm going into high school and I'm sort of nervous. I'm like forgetting how to prep myself for school. I'm going school shopping tomorrow and I have a ton of new jeans that I already bought so I don't know what kind of pants I should look for now. I want to learn how to make really good interchangeable outfits, (a few sets of things that can be made new outfits easily). If you could list some good basic needs I should get let me know. My style is a little country, a little prep, and sometimes rock. Maybe some ideas for my hair and good ways to clean up my skin after I use face wash. That and how to acts around guys and stuff. I'm not really that smooth yet with the guys in my school. Not that I'm shy, I just haven't met that many I actually like.
danielle says; Well as for the clothes I would get tank tops because you can use them for a lot of different outfits. And belts are nice to, like different colors and designs can make an outfit more interesting. Polo shirts are nice too, maybe one in black, one in white (you can wear the tank tops underneath) and a few other colors that go nice with your tank tops. Also a nice jacket can go with almost any outfit. So you can mix and match the polos and tanks and the jeans and belts to make a lot of outfits! For your skin try to find Cetaphil face wash & mousterizer, it works well to prevent pimples, if you use it everyday. As for the guys, just be yourself!

is it normal to get a cold in the summer? because i think i have one i have a really soar throat and my nose is sooo stuffy! also what can i do to help get my nose unstuffed?

I'm eighteen years old and a high school graduate. I frequently help babysit my younger cousins (ages 2-12) for free or at a low price, and I am fairly used to the quirks, likes and dislikes, of behavior of my relatives.
A family friend has asked me to babysit their 7 (I think 7) year old son for about eight hours this Thursday (I write this on Sunday). I like the kid and he seems to hero-worship me, so I'm fairly certain I'm going to accept. However, he has a reputation for wild behavior, so I am going in guarded.
My problem is, while I've played with him and helped to babysit him before, I've never been the primary babysitter. While my mother will be home that day, I really want to be as self-sufficient as possible.
So, I was looking for some pointers for babysitting non-family. I'm thinking that I'll start him out on cartoons, since he'll be arriving at my house about seven, and break up the rest of the day with semi-healthy snacks every 2-3 hours, and blocks of toys, drawing, and video games. Movies if I get REALLY desperate.
If you could give me tips, crisis management techniques, and ideas for free or low-cost crafts and games, I would greatly appreciate it. Movie rental suggestions are also welcome, although my budget is very small, and my selection is limited to a single small store.
Danielle says ; It sounds like you have a good plan. To keep him from anything wild, I reccomend making a deal with him. Like, if he behaves for an hour (draws quietly or something) then you'll let him watch any movie he wants (that is avalible). Other than that I think your pretty much set. You have a good technique. Just, obviously make sure you have the parent's numbers, and you should be fine!

Okay, I know I'm an advice columnist, but I really need help. My best friend Rachael, dated my other best friend Evan. And that was fine. Evan broke up with her numerous times. Then they always got back together. Rachael got sick of it and broke it off for good. Then while Rachael was at camp me and Evan started going out. I only did it because I knew Rachael didn't like him still. Rachael is the um.. JEALOUS type. VERY jealous type. But still, she didn't care we were going out. She was TOTALLY okay with it. Then last night she told Evan she still liked him, and was thinking about him. With Rachael, it's REALLY obvious when she lies, so when she said she didn't like Evan, I KNEW she was telling the truth. I think she's lying about still liking Evan. But I don't know. I think she did it cuz Evan liked her still.. until he started going out with me, and Rachael thinks he still likes her. And Evan is moving 45 minutes away from here. My question is.. should I stay with him? Or not? I REALLY like him.. And his brother would drive him here every week to see us. But his mom might not let him. What should I doooo? Sorry this is so long.
Danielle says ; First of all, I think you should have a talk with Rachael. You should tell her that you REALLY like Evan. If she is truly your friend she should respect that you guys go out. Also, you should ask Evan what he thinks of Rachael. As for the distance thing 45 minutes isn't to far, and if the brother is willing to help I think it'll work out!

Its Summer 2005 and I am a 13 year old girl entering 8th grade. I have hair that is a couple inches past my shoulder when its strait but its usaly wavy inless i straiten it which takes a max of 10 minutes. I have medium thicknes so that doesnt realy stop me from doing things with my hair. I usaly pull it half up and half down with a clip or pony tail, I almost never wear it down, or I will poll it all up becuase i have to for cheerleading ( I am a cheerleader if that helps any) I need somthing diffrent! School starts in 6 weeks and i want somthing diffrent that is nice. My hair looks best when i have half of it clipped up and half down if that helps any too? Could someone give me some pictures or ideas? That would be greatly apperiated!!!!
Maybe you guys could tell me what you like a girls hair most? Like what styles do you love? That would help also!

Danielle says ; If you really don't want to wear your hair down there are many options. Hair accesories like headbands or colorful clips could give your old ponytail or half-up, half-down look a creative twist. A new haircut is another option. Layers or just a shorter cut are good for a new look. Also highlighting or completely dyeing your hair is good for a new look. If you have darker hair, maybe a reddish streak? Or if you're blonde you could go brunette!
Also I suggest finding a friend who can use a curling iron or you can invest in hot curlers :)

I'm eighteen years old, female, and I was unpopular at my high school. Somehow, however, I ended up being friends with a lot of the football players. I got really close to one of them, Alan; he ended up becoming one of my best friends. He's the perfect man in every way--smart, funny, cute, nice--except that he's OBBSESSED with SEX.
Alan has a girlfriend, Bella. She's a nice girl, and I like her as a friend, but the two are toxic to one another. When they have problems, it's like all the life gets sucked out of him. They're really harmful to each other.

Now that I've graduated, I find that I'm... in love with him. I think about him every day... When I’m not thinking about him, I’m thinking about these two characters from this game I like who are just like him and me. I really care about him... and I think he knows it, since I kissed him once. But he has a girlfriend. Even if he didn’t, I’m waiting until marriage to have sex, and I'm afraid he would convince me to do something I don't want to.
I know I can't be with Alan. I don't want to damage my friendship with him or Bella, and I know he’s not right for me. But I don't know what to do. These feelings I have for him are making it hard for me to deal with other guys, and just thinking about not seeing him every day in school is killing me. I guess what I want to know is, how do I get over a guy who doesn't like me anyway?
Samantha says ; He doesnt sound like the best person to be in love with. Especially if you are waiting until marriage.. I think that you should maybe TRY going out with him and wait for him to either say no or to ask you to do something and you to get upset so then you wont like him anymore. I dont know what i would really do but this sounds like something that could work :)

Samantha says ; Well there is no way to die your hair naturally.. but you cant use koolaid if you have darker hair especially if you want a bright color.. you could try going to CVS or Walgreens and buying a spray in thing that washes out after like a week...
Danielle says ; the pink probably wont be that bright if you have naturally dark hair but you could get a semi permanant dye that usually comes out in 8-10 washes

Samantha says ; OMGGG I have the same exact problem.. see i have two older sisters who were not the greatest kids.. See my oldest one who is now 28 had a baby when she was about my age so that ruins being able to hang out with boys with out being questioned right when i get home. And my other sister who is now 23 did drugs when she was my age and younger so my parents always have to make sure adults are always where i go which effing sucks. So yeah.. what you should do is do what i did. I cried my eyes out .. i just said to my family that i'm not retarded like my other sisters and that i'm smart enough not to make bad choices i know that what i do will have consiquences so i dont do bad things. If you have a talk like that with your parents.. with your sister present maybe it will clear the air and give you a tad bit more freedom.. hey it worked for me.. IM me sometime ; brunette x5o
Danielle says ; I would say tell your mom that you wont do the things that your sister did and that if tyou have a cell phone then you'll always have it will you, on you.. and fully charged so she can always contact you so maybe she will be a little more trusting and she'll always know where you're at.

Last night I slept over one of my best friend Maries house and we were just talking and stuff, but then we didnt even ask we just started to do sexual stuff and saying dirty stuff, kind of, like half laughing it off. I'm thinking about making a cd with all the songs that make me think of the guy I like (much too weak a word, believe me) and then giving it too him, but I'm not sure what message that would send. We've been best friends for about five years, and while i'm willing to risk a great friendship for what i feel would be a better relationship, I don't want him to think i have a secret shrine to him in my closet (i don't, btw). any advice on how this might make him feel or the possible consequences to my following up on it?

ok, i have a boyfriend but he isnt the hottest thing in the world. a few people think he is kind of hot, though. anyway, i have this one guy friend that likes me, and always makes fun of the way my bf looks. he is friends with my brother and myself, and lives next door so is at mh house 24/7 and plans on making trouble whenever my bf comes over. it's very annoying. any help?

Danielle says ; The kid whos bothering you should just be told that its not his business about him and try to distance your self from him. And for the girls who wanna meet him .. if you're worried about his looks, if you like him thats all that matters.

So yeah tell him to go away and maybe hang out at your boyfriends house more often, which you shouldnt have to do but if that kid is really that persistant then it might be your only choice. As for the girls.. if they wanna meet your boyfriend let them. And if they make fun of his looks or anything dont take it personally because how many of them have boyfriends and if they do how cute are they? But yeah just be proud of what you got :)

my boyfriend and i currently broke up we were going out for about 3/4 months we broke up and he said he didn't want a gf. Samantha says ; well.. if you have a boyfriend right now, break up with him. because it seems like you're more interested in your ex and that isnt fair to your current bf. So yeah do that and then to really just get back at him, you have to play dirty =\ maybe just go for his best friend and do stuff with him, and make sure your ex finds out! Thats pretty much all you can do.

My friend and I are really close. He's my best friend, and I'm really open with him. Sometimes we have really deep conversations, where I tell him anything I feel and he does the same too. We might even have conversations on the phone until 2 in the morning. My problems is that he's really confusing me. He won't make up is mind as to whether he likes me or not. Sometimes he'll hold me or give me those cute hugs from behind, and I really love when he does. We say "I love you" to each other as if it's a greeting. I think he's just leading me on because I asked him out before and he said that he liked me but he didn't want a girlfriend. Now, I don't know if I should ask him out again or what. I like him so much, and I think he likes me too. Should we go out because we're really close or will that mess up our friendship alot?
Samantha says ; Well.. guyfriends are so precious. If you have em save em.. but if you two are close enough to talk about anything? then if you feel that he likes you then ask him out.. if he says no, or you two go out and breakup it might be a little awkward for a couple of days / weeks but if you two are close enough then you guys will be back to normal in no time so why not go for it? :)

OKay... so is there any way at all to get rid of a cold sore faster because I've been sick for like a week and usually when I'm sick I get cold sores, well, I have one, I woke up with it this morning and my boyfriend comes home tomorrow. He won't kiss me when I have a cold sore. And he's been gone for two weeks. Any suggestions?

Samantha says ; CALL HIM! Get together, plan a day just to hang out and catch up. Guyfriends are the best kind of friends a girl can have. Girls can talk to guys so much more easily just because most of them, except for the fruity ones, wont go and gossip behind your back. So try to patch things up and I bet he hasnt forgotten you. Danielle says ; I think even though you have your differences you are still sisters.. you cant try to change her opinions or what shes trying to be. If you really want to spend time with your friends before camp tell your mom and make sure you promise to spend the day with her when you get back. If your mom wont let you get out of it then just tell your friends to meet you at the pool!
Samantha says ; Tell your sister that you think she is annoying then maybe she will tell your mom that she doesnt want to have to spend the day with you and then you're all set. But if that doesnt work then tell your mom that you really dont like hanging around with your sister because you two are so different.. i mean c'mon you have to put up with her at home too..
