Its Summer 2005 and I am a 13 year old girl entering 8th grade. I have hair that is a couple inches past my shoulder when its strait but its usaly wavy inless i straiten it which takes a max of 10 minutes. I have medium thicknes so that doesnt realy stop me from doing things with my hair. I usaly pull it half up and half down with a clip or pony tail, I almost never wear it down, or I will poll it all up becuase i have to for cheerleading ( I am a cheerleader if that helps any) I need somthing diffrent! School starts in 6 weeks and i want somthing diffrent that is nice. My hair looks best when i have half of it clipped up and half down if that helps any too? Could someone give me some pictures or ideas? That would be greatly apperiated!!!!
Maybe you guys could tell me what you like a girls hair most? Like what styles do you love? That would help also!
maria2653 answered Tuesday July 12 2005, 11:36 pm: get it cut! i suggest a shag cut, its sexy and pretty! if you want you could dye lighter and get dark and light highlights. for instance, dirty blonde dyed and like bleachblonde highlights and dark brown highlights. or you could grow it really long like down to your butt (that might draw attention to your ass from guys) then dye it like dark (dark brown or black) and straighten it a lot or crimp it. if you grow it really long it would look really cool with a hat or in a high pny tail. hope i helped! ;) [ maria2653's advice column | Ask maria2653 A Question ]
jennlynn3127 answered Tuesday July 12 2005, 3:55 pm: well, i would say to just get a little bit of bangs. they wouldn't be in your way for cheerleading but they would compliment your face and make it look like your hair has more style to it! Good Luck! [ jennlynn3127's advice column | Ask jennlynn3127 A Question ]

Hair accesories like headbands or colorful clips could give your old ponytail or half-up, half-down look a creative twist. A new haircut is another option. Layers or just a shorter cut are good for a new look. Also highlighting or completely dyeing your hair is good for a new look. If you have darker hair, maybe a reddish streak? Or if you're blonde you could go brunette!
Also I suggest finding a friend who can use a curling iron or you can invest in hot curlers :)
curliecue answered Monday July 11 2005, 5:42 pm: It might take longer than six weeks... but if I had wavy hair, I would grow it out long and then style it. You don't always have to put half of it up... but if it really looks good that way, try buying some new clips that aren't the original kind. Get some that hold your hair differently than the little teeth things or a rubberband. [ curliecue's advice column | Ask curliecue A Question ]
akissintheshapeofabullet answered Monday July 11 2005, 3:57 pm: If you go to the salon and get your hair layed, around your face, it will be more noticeable, and its an easy style to maintain. My hair is layered, and Its long enough to put up in a ponytail when I play soccer, and run track, so it should be good if you're going to cheerlead. Highlights can also damatically change they way you look.
simplyblond3xo1 answered Monday July 11 2005, 3:04 pm: ok i am a cheerleader too and i always want my hair back but everyone likes it down so at school sometimes i wear it down but have a pony tail on my wrist just in case and if u look good wit short hair i would cut it a little to about a little bit about your sholders so when u have cheerleading you can still put it half way up!
i hope i helped,
