I have been teaching and coaching wrestling for since 2000. Having to deal with wrestlers, i have to have an understanding of health, weight management, muscle building, and overall fitness. I love working with teens. Teaching at a high school gives you first-hand knowledge of the development of teenagers in general. well that is an interesting question. if i interpret what you are saying correctly, you are saying that you are someone that they can fall back on when other people are not around. it sounds like u are dependable, flexible with your time,easy-go-lucky, and are fun. otherwise they probably wouldnt call you to do things, other people or not. what are they doing when they dont call you? but your concern is valid. i would ask myself if these people are true friends or just "people that i know." true friends seem to include you in things. i would ask these people about this. ask them how come they do this. it would be great to see their reaction to your questions. communication and understanding is key. also, for some pick-u-up, there is someone that likes you and wants you around. trust it that and yourself.

i know that grass is green. a stoplight is red, yellow, green from top to bottom. I even know that apples can be several colors.

ok i wasn't sure what to put this under but i have bad vision and i hate wearing contacts or glasses. are there any cheap ways to improve my vision? Can some one please give me easy ways to do it (not surgery or glasses or contacts).ty

i am completely color blind (really). how do you fix that? nothing cheap about vision. even glasses and contacts are relatively expensive. i know that in general, vision worsens over time. glasses and contacts are just a "band-aid" so to speak. meaning that our vision can still worsen over time. only way really to improve vision that i have heard of is that laser surgery. several co-workers of mine have had it. but we are talking big $$$$$$. so to answer your question, no, i know of no ways to improve vision. for some humor for the day, you could always wear a blind fold all day and imagine what you see. now THAT is vision.

ok i bought a siamese kitten and she keeps on crying all the time! The only time she does not cry is when i hold her she is 10 weeks old but she keeps me awake all night and now i feel so tired and i have not gone to school.How can i stop her crying??? (link)

i remember getting a new kitten and doing the same thing. your kitten is suffering from separation anxiety, much like when babies throw a fit when they are taken away from their parent. something that worked for us (it may work for you)is keeping the kitten in a box with a hot water bottle. also a ticking clock in a towel helps. our vet at the time recommended this. he mentioned how the hot water bottle gives the kitten a sense of something else being there. much like kittens in a litter lay close to each other. the ticking clock supposively is a heart beat substitute. all this according to a vet. and of course, like all creatures, it takes time for the animal to adjust to its new surrounding. good luck with your kitten.

you thoughts are serious and i am happy you are taking them that way. i work with teens daily and i hear things like this. its not uncommon and you are not alone. i am happy to say that some have entrusted me to discuss topics such as depression, family problems, sex, and other things. you said you want your father's approval. as i would mine in this situation. you mentioned you are having a hard time telling your father about getting help. i dont know what works for you, but maybe write it down in a letter, stike up a conversation, or whatever you feel comfortable doing. if he is unresponsive, is there another adult that you could speak to? one that you can trust. maybe this person can speak with your father if your father doesnt have a clue how to deal with something like this. some examples of good people are your teachers, maybe a minister if you are a religious type, etc. one person mentioned a therapist in their answer. this a good method, however i assume u are young and paying for this is a problem. so approval from your father is essential.
your feelings are very real and i cant take that from you. however, you are a beautiful person to many in this world, and you not in it would be terrible. take care of yourself and i would love to hear how this goes. everyone has potential and love for something. find that. with those teens i see daily, having them not there would make me sad. i know your father would want you around. take care.

first or all the answers you have received from the other people are either very flawed or incomplete. and rather disburbing. i would recommend doing several things:
1)consult a doctor about your thoughts and he can give you a target weight or a healthy weight. internet searches are not exactly the best. most doctors do not post information (or why would they be working)
2)gaining weight is a simple equation. eating more calories then what you burn or use. A dietician can tell you exactly the amount of calories you need to maintain body weight, even based on your physical exertion. they say that eating 500 more calories a day will increase your weight an average of 1 pound a week.
3)gaining safe weight is the tricky part. safe weight is ok if it is done slowly. I assume you want some muscle mass rather than fat. Resistance training (such as weights) are good exercises. aerobic exercise will help the fear of gaining fat. if you train your entire body, you will naturally be hungry anyway. as long as you are training, you can increase your food intake.

Alright, I have a boyfriend..he loves to cook and we have been together for 10 months and we both plan on making it longer. BUT now he wants me to cook. I suck-I have to ask him everything..How much meat I should put in the hamburgerhelper cause he's mom had to much meat in the package. How to cook everything! I hate it. expecting perfection from you or your mate will ultimately bring disappointment. what i would do is cook together. explain to him that you are not a cooker. you would like to learn and if he is the expert, you can be the student. and you gte the experience on "bonding" by cooking together. it could also lead to some more "fun" activities. happing cooking.

some condoms have a tip to "trap" the cum. They always say squeeze the tip as you put it on. this will keep air from getting in and also helps leave room on the end for a "storage" for cum. yes at times it may feel soggy or yucky, but guys are guys, we dont care...weigh your options. i know i will deal with the sogginess if i was getting sex. i am sure all guys would agree.

Do crunches help you lose weight? I normally do anywhere from 1000-3000 crunches a day. I eat healthy and i don't eat a lot because i want to lose 30lbs. thanks in advanced. i rate 5's for good answers (link)

NO NO NO NO NO
here is why:
1)aerobic exercise (increased hear rate for a period of time) is the ONLY way to burn fat. Resistance training (weights) does help build muscle, which thus increases metabolism, thus HELPING burn fat.
2)eating actually helps with metabolism. Small meals throughout the day help. Skipping slows your metabolism down
3)Your body puts on weight proportionally, not just on your stomach. when you lose weight, you lose it all over your body. YOu never see a person with a fat arms and not fat legs. doesnt work that way. You can NOT spot-reduce (just lose weight in one area). So crunches will not help you lose fat in that area. They are an exercise to STRENGTHEN. they are a resistance training, like weights, used for only strengthening. To get those six pack abs..you have to lose the fat over top of them. with aerobic stuff
4)for total body fitness, do weights and aerobic exercise. this will help you lose weight.
5)oh...and you CANNOT TURN FAT INTO MUSCLE...ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE BODY COMPOSITION

glad to hear this question. i actully just looked in a book about UV rays. here is what its says in general.
the clouds actually filter SOME of the rays out. however, some get through. so people may think to themselves, "well since its cloudy outside, i wont get burned." that is the misconception. But to answer your question, direct sunlight (without the clouds) will make your skin burn quicker. its a fact.

i am a dancer (7 classes a week), i eat very healthily, but i cant seem to lose weight! i am 5'3" and a half inch and weigh about 113 pounds. i am not super fat, but my lower stomach, face, and thighs are. how can i help this? (link)

interesting. again, the answer below mine said do crunches. crunches DO NOT make your stomach smaller. your body puts on fat in proportion to the rest of your body. for example, if you gain weight, you will put weight on EVERYWHERE on your body. aerobic exerices help you burn fat, not crunches. also, you are not fat. that is all psychological.
Some advice for women:
1)Women seem to put weight on in their legs for biological reason, i.e to support the weight of a growing fetus. we see this in the "pear shape" figure and hips.
2)your face is interesting to me. I have never heard of a fat face.
3)i would recommend total body fitness such as weights and aerobic exerices.
4)also think about body type. there are several body types that enable us to have that six-pack abs or not. i remember as a young athlete, i had the strongest abs in the world but it was hard to get that shape. my body type did not enable me to have those.
5)YOU ARE NOT fat...women are always more beautiful then they think they are

ah those lovely hickies. a hickey is actually a bruise. its essentially the same as being pinched. bruises heal with time. nothing you can do to help speed the recovery. just try covering it up for now. oh, and i would try getting one on a different spot that isnt visible ;) happy hunting for that.

ive got some science work to do and its a sheet about some teenagers problems with teen pregnancy's well ive got to write back to 2 of them giving them advice and teling them what they should do but i cant cause on most of them most people would write have an abortion but i cant write that cause i dont believe in abortion i mean im not against it i just personly wouldnt have one and i think its kind of wrong so on most of them i would probly write keep the baby which i dont want to write so what im asking is im going to write down what the problems are and would someone please write advice to 2 of the problems please i will rate high to anyone that reply's so i will write them in another question named write advice to my science work ok so look out for it

i teach at a high school and i work with teens daily. abortion is always a tough subject to talk about. young people are very passionate and get very heated with their opinions. you have a strong one obviously.
Since you are having a hard time, i would recommend telling your feelings about WHY you dont agree with abortion. Support your "dont get one" with examples. You may believe its murder, or its just an easy way out, etc. If its a teen pregnancy is a problem, then talk about birth control in other ways, not abortions. some believe that its ok to get an abortion to save the mothers life or for rape cases. Try to see things from every perspective. I dont think that your opinions are wrong. Opinions can be discussed in calm and mature ways. And i am sure your teacher would like to hear yours. i know i would.

alriight well i have this best friend, hes a guy, im a girl. we've been best friend for a pretty long time. i guess you could say were not your ordinary guy and girl friendship. we sit with each other at lunch, we call each other alot, we hang out every other weekend or so, we tell each other everything, etc. Well, yeah you know how i said i sit with him at lunch. well we whisper, like mostly whenever we talk we whisper, just because, we dont know why. well anyway i sit next to him and were always whispering and stuff. and the one day i was tired and i was resting my head and he put his arms around me and started shaking me.. then the one day they tried to stick pizza in my face and they know i dont like eating lunch, so i tried to like get up from the table but his shoulder was in the way so i ended up throwing myself over his shoulder and i just laid there and then i got off.. and then he was like, im not feelin to good and i was like.. ew throw up that way and hes like, ill be fine let me use your arm as a pillow, and he layed on my arm but then he got up like 10 seconds later.. alriight so i guess my question is, are we really flirting? my friend keeps saying that we would be really sweet together and even my teacher think were going out.. because this one time my math and science teacher were talking and he was whispering to me and he said something weird so i straightened up and looked at him with a suprised face and slapped him lightly on the shoulder and he started laughing and pulled me back down so he could finish and i looked over at my teachers and my science teacher looked at us all weird and my math teacher said something to her and she was like, "aw".. it was really weird.. well anyway are we really flirting?

the answer below mine is true to some degree. not eating does slow down your metabolism. I recommend eating breakfast. Eating small meals actually helps.
I saw one problem with one of the answers below me. The south beach diet is not proven (low carbs) nor has it been studied with exhaustive research. Not one doctor has endorsed it, despite what media will tell you. A quick fix by reducing carbs is not the answer. You may lose your weight, however, when you return your eating habits to normal, you tend to gain more. Also, cutting carbs for long periods of time will result in dehydration, fatigue, and has been linked to kidney problems and strokes. THis is very true with women. Also, ask yourself a serious question. Losing 21 lbs in three weeks is not only unhealthy, but can be deadly. it would be different if you had 100 of fat that you could lose. But based on your body weight given, you do not.
Swimming is a good exercise for total body exerice. I recommend taking your time. I would also consult a doctor about how much weight you can lose HEALTHILY. As the old saying goes, "taking your time and doing it right is always the best way to do ANYTHING." Strive for life long fitness, not summer fitness.

having worked with athletes, explosiveness is important in jumping and stunts. I have read a few answers about stretching. This is true for preventing injury because it give your muscles and joints more range of motion. If you want to be good at jumping, per se, you need to strengthen your upper thighs. There are numerous exercises you can do this. I like to tell people (and its very true) that the most important muscle in an athletes body is the glutes, or roughly speaking, your butt. All jumping motions originate from that.
Also a good thing to do at home is a standing broad jump. Try to do this flat footed. Stand in place and jump as high as you can BRINGING YOUR KNEES UP TO YOUR CHEST. This will develop those booty muscles and explosiveness that comes with doing stunts and jumps in cheering.
Strengthen your abdominals and lower back. These are constantly being worked when athletes jump. This will also help if you are doing "support" stunts that cheerleaders do.
Show that spirit!

i coach wrestling for a high school and have been in wrestling since i was 4 years old. Weight, muscle mass, body fat, and dieting are always something i have to watch out for in my athletes. We even have to attend a coaching clinic every year on nutrition and weight management. Here are some advices i can give you:
1)In spite of the common phrase, you cannot turn fat into muscle.
2)Muscle does weigh more than fat. Simple reason being that muscle holds more water. You always see body builders drinking gallons of water a day. This is one of those reasons.
3)So if you gain muscle, you will gain weight. But also note that you may gain fat at the same time depending on your diet and your workout routine
4)If you are looking to put on muscle, i would first ask myself why are you doing this. Is it for looks, for athletic performance/competition?
5)Lean muscle increases your metabolism. Thus burning fat. This is important especially for women, who have a higher body fat percentage then men do. IN other words, its harder for women to have that toan ripped look as men do.
6)Also a misconception for body sculpting is that you can spot reduce. A good example is that peole always say that doing crunches will burn the fat around your midsecion. Not true. Aerobic exercise (anything that increases your heart rate for a period of time) is the ONLY way to burn fat. Doing cruches will strengthen your abdominals and help support the rest of the muscles in your body. However, muscular resistance, such as crunches and weights, will increase your metabolism, thus helping burn fat. So you see the importance of both reistance and aerobic training. Good luck!

well take this from a guy. I have had a WOMAN say that she wanted to be friends with benefits. So it happened. In my experience, women always become romantically interested. I even asked a friend once what she thought and she knew that if she became a sexual partner with someone, that she would ultimately have develop feelings. To that affect, you may end up losing the friend altogether, since dating and relationships require common goals. Oh, and just remember, a player will play, regardless of who you are.
