I am applying for a job at clothing store, and on the application it asks why I am applying for this position. The honest answer is because I need the money, but I know you're not supposed to say that on applications. So what should I say instead? Thank you. (link)

"I want to help and give fashion tips to others"
or something along the lines that imply that you know fashion really well and can work with the "unfashionables"

Okay I know I need to start thinking about what I want to do when I grow up! I will be in college VERY soon. So I have listed what I would like in a job. PLease if you cna tell me some jobs that would be good for me:
. FIRST PRIORITY: I want to help people, take care of them make them feel better.
. I want to make good money! Incase I have to live on a single income I want to be able to pay the bills and still go shopping.I don't want to live paycheck to paycheck.
. I don't want to have to go to college for 10 years, rather 4-5.
. I want to work with either teens and adults or elderly.
. I want to love my job.
THANKS (link)

Nursing- short education(compared to other medical fields) and good salary when coming out of school. You get to meet and help many people.
Caretaker- Same as nursing, but you spend longer time with a person. Good salary, and also fits into the nursing field.
Counselor- short education and pretty decent salary when first coming out of school. You get to meet and help many people.
Priest- You don't have to actually believe in the faith. I have some friends who are priests and preachers and they could care less in God. You will be helping people by making them feel better in any way. You don't get much money, but that is resolved by the benefits of this job, because you get your own room, and some people will donate to YOU and not the church.

im 13 i weigh 94 pounds and im 4'11 am i over weight? (link)

Overweight? Nonsense. You're in the preferable weight group, which is in the 90-130 range. 90 is optimal, for your height and age, whether you're a girl or a guy.

why cant i have a gurlfriend (link)
|
Ah, the dreaded "I-must-have-a-girlfriend" phase of the early teen years. Dating girls can be extremely easy, if you know how to. The first thing to remember, is to be confident. Girls like a guy who is confident. Make yourself look nice all the time. This doesn't mean wearing a suit every day, just wear a nice T-shirt with some jeans. Don't put on cologne, as many guys will over cologne themselves. Instead, go for the sweet and natural smells, like vanilla. They sell vanilla at your local supermarket in little jars, so you can dab it on yourself.

This really isn't about getting advice. It's just some things i've wondered about girls.
1) Why do girls always go to the bathroom in groups? What do you guys do in there besides pee?
2)why are girls embarrassed to be seen in their bra and panties but not in a bikini.
3) Do girls notice when guys get boners?
(link)
|
Being a guy myself, I asked my wife. She says:
1) Girls do go to the bathroom to use the bathroom. They use it as a secretive place to talk to each other.
2) It depends on the mood, and event. Like on a beach, it's acceptable to wear a bikini, but not in other places.
3) They will by the way they act and walk, apparently.

16/f my boyfriend of 1 and a half years is 17. My boyfriend gets grounded for the most stupid things ever. for even having an opinion on anything. I am so sick and tired of him being grounded. we never get to hang out. well last week he was ungrounded. (shock!) and wednesday i went over to the house that he stays at throughout the week. after school, he called his dad to check in with him. I could hear their convo. his dad said you need to get your stuff done and he said he would after he ate dinner. then yesterday my boyfriend gets grounded because his dad said he came home on tuesday and his stuff wasnt done. when his dad said wednesday to get it done after he ate! ughh it just makes me so mad that he is always always grounded and i have to go all weekend and not even speak to him. last wendsay was the first time weve even gotten to see eachother outside of school in nearly two months. he has tried talking to his dad but it just makes his dad even more mad and he grounds him for longer. what can he do to make his dad chill out a little. my boyfried turns eighteen in four months he is almost an adualt and he still gets grounded so frequently its insane. (link)
|
I've never been through this kind of situation. I think the best thing you can do, is suggest emancipation. You're boyfriend is turning eighteen, and if he feels uncomfortable around his dad, he can be try to be emancipated. The age varies around from state to state, but it's usually 18. Don't report the dad, the dad has done nothing wrong (yet) and reporting him may cause him to even be angry at you.

I'm 15 years old.. a freshman.. and i like his sophmore guy. lets call him D. my friend is R. well anyways my R has liked D for about a month. but ive liked D for like.. around 5-6 months.. she has NO idea what i feel about him.. in fact i told her that i didnt like him cause i couldnt trust her with my secret.. D told me that he dislikes R. R doesnt even TALK to D.. only on msn for liek.. 2 min once a week!
WHAT DO I DO (link)
|
If, "R" is your friend, then she'll understand if you go out with "D". "R" has obviously shown that she doesn't like him, even though she says she does. You should totally go for it.
If "R" does really happens to like "D", then you should explain to her, how you were waiting for her to make her move, being the friend you are. Don't rub it in her face, or this might end in a love triangle. You don't want that to happen. Good luck. And remember, you're still young, and dating should be for fun.
|
My best friend of 5 years, "A" has been dating this guy "B" they have had a lot of problems and have been on and off for almost 2 years. they finally broke up for good a month ago.
I respect both of them so I asked "B" if I could later on in the future, date my best friend because Ive always liked her but never dated her or told her till 2 months ago.
"B" said he doesnt want to be with her right now but he doesnt want to lose her. What "A" and "B" decided to do is "take a break & become better friends" they arent together. they talk/text here and there. they hang out twice a week if that. they both have decided to not date anyone else on this break.
If "B" doesnt know if he wants to date "A" or if "A" is the best thing out there and "A" knows she wants to be with him, then why should "A" bother waiting. Shouldnt "B" just let her go and live her life with whatever other guy. He broke up with her by the way. What if during this break some other girl starts talking to "B." "B" doesnt date her, just talks to her as friends and slowly develops a crush for this new girl and then tells "A" she gets crushed again and is all alone.
I dont think any of this is fair to "A" am i wrong or right. what can i tell both of them? if he loves her and cant let her go then why doesnt he just date her? (link)
|
You heard of any love triangles? They end pretty horrible. Best thing you can do is, ignore it. You shouldn't mess in love situations. Don't turn it into a love triangle. Just sit down, sip a beer(if you drink), play some games(if your a gamer) read a book (if a reader), or watch T.V. (you don't fit in above).
I'm only recommending this because I've been in a love RECTANGLE, and it ended in me having to actually move to a different town.

I cut my wrists for the first time about two years ago when my boyfriend of 8 months and I broke up, but I only did it once or twice and it was more of a scratch rather than a cut. Between then and up until about January of this year, I've done it, maybe a total of 7 or 8 times because of break ups, family issues and issues with myself. Lately though, I can't seem to stop. I sit around and think about it all day until my mother finally goes to sleep so I can cut again. Is it possible I'm addicted? Maybe even obsessed with it? What do I do? (link)
|
Anybody can be addicted to any substance. When you cut yourself (or are in pain) you're body releases endorphins, which are pain hormones that reduce the amount of pain in your nerves (or something like that) and make you feel happy later. Since you seem to be addicted, try the following:
Cut yourself less. Take it easy. Wean your body off its needs. If you take it away suddenly, you might feel urges that get stronger and stronger.
Or, take a different approach. Before any of your "cutting sessions", dip the cutting tool in a burning material, like alcohol or lemon juice. That way, when you cut yourself, it will burn, and maybe discourage you from cutting yourself.

Okay, so I live in a house where not only one but both of my parents smoke, the smell just nauseates me! And I hate it. What are some ways I can get my parents to either quit or go outside while smoking? Ive tried talking to them but they never seem to listen. What are some ways I can get them to understand I dont like breathing that crap, and that I dont want to die from getting cancer! (link)
|
Write a note to your parents, individually, saying something along the lines of "If you continue to smoke, please smoke outside of the house, because I don't want to die from lung cancer." If you're old enough, make arrangements with someone (preferably a relative) that you'll be moving in with them for a while, until your parents at least smoke outside the house. If you really want to risk getting grounded (or beaten, because nicotine is an addicting drug, if you remove it, they'll suffer withdrawal symptoms), take their cigarettes away, and hide them.

My boyfriend and I REALLY want to have sex in the shower for our first time. He said his friend told him that if we use some sort of soap (like bar soap or even SHAMPOO) that we won't have to worry about me getting pregnant. That way we won't have to buy condoms or anything too. Sounds great, yeah? :D
My parents are going to be away this saturday for a little while and I thought about asking my boyfriend to come over and we could do it in the shower. ;) I'm kind of nervous about the soap thing though because I don't want to end up being a pregnant teen.
:) Is it true that you can't get pregnant if you use soap as lubrication during sex in the shower?
And, if so, what is the best soap/shampoo to use for lube in the shower? ;) ;) THANKS (link)
|
I'm speechless. You obviously don't know the real meaning of love, if you're starting sex and thinking that using soap can be an effective anti-pregnancy method. You might get cleaner than before, but that's probably the most you're going to get out of soap.
If you are really considering soap, over condoms because you cannot "get" them or purchase them, consider this. Soap is more expensive than condoms, and have a totally different use. Soap is used to break the surface area of your skin, allowing dirt and oil to wash off. Antibacterial soap does the same, and kills off bacteria. However, sperm is NOT bacteria, and therefore cannot be killed.
Soap burns in your eyes, yes? It also burns if you have cuts, yes? So what makes you think, that having soap touch other sensitive organs (like genital organs) will not burn? Please, use common sense. Most people lack this type of logic.
Also, having sex in the shower is great foreplay, but is a horrible way to end it. an exhausted male could easily slip in all that soap (in case you are too ignorant to follow all of our advice) and fracture his skull. By the way, you need a new boyfriend, as this boyfriend is a sex addict, knows nothing about sex (other than it feels good), and deserves to take a shower and soap up his, ahem, "genitals" and see if he would rethink it.

I don't mean to sound stupid but I'm curious if zombies are actually real to some extent. I'm not talking about the "zombies" you see in movies and on the television though that are after brains (or should I say "brraaainnsss!"). I also don't mean an actual invasion of zombies that tends to be the basis on many movies. I'm just talking about the walking dead, I suppose. Is there a such thing as the walking dead? Are there real incidences of zombies or A zombie? Any proof to back up a zombie theory? Just curious, really... (link)
|
Zombies. They are real. They are not the zombies from the movies, though. Zombies have been described throughout history, but this fact is generally ignored.
An old "zombie" outbreak occurred in Laos. The cause was a type of Fever, (can't remember, this was in my research years ago) that caused the heart to stop, but let the body move temporarily. The zombies here are not flesh-eating monsters, but instead dead people who received temporary body movement, and partial brain revival.
Zombies are real, in Haiti. Haitians greatly respect the dead, and fear that the bodies of their loved ones will be stolen by the voodoo sorcerers called bokors. The bokor instills fear with the use of magic, such as voodoo dolls, and a magical powder that causes paralysis when stepped upon. The bokor has the supposed ability to make zombies to use as slaves. The zombie created by the bokor, is actually caused by a slow acting poison. This causes a substance to build up in the person, causing a dead-like state, where their metabolism rate is much lower than usual. They usually die when they are buried, by either suffocation, or starvation. But if they are still alive, the bokor digs them up, and feeds them zombie cucumber, which is another drug that causes memory loss and disorientation. Thus, a slave of the bokor is now a zombie to others. Haiti greatly respects the dead, and fear the bokors, also witch doctors, so much, that is is illegal to raise the dead.
Sources: For Laos, I have no idea how to get the information now. For Haiti, I've been there to study this particular topic.

My spouse suffers from nasty heart burn episodes sometimes and we are trying to find something that might stop these attacks. He was taking some baking soda mixed with water solution for the issue that worked very well but we recently found out that it is extremely unhealthy for the body. We were curious if anyone knew any nice remedies they have used for heartburn episodes? (link)
|
Acid Reflux. I hate it. I too suffer from heartburn. But for me, it's triggered by stress. I recommended that he try to relieve his stress. Remember that stress can be emotional as well as physical.
Home remedies include the infamous baking soda with water method. Since you have tried that, we'll skip onto the milk remedy. If your husband is lactose-intolerant, try crackers, or anything that can neutralize acid. I was skeptical about milk, because although milk is a base, I doubt that by lowering the acidity of your stomach bile would make it hurt less. but it works nonetheless.
I have also used a remedy that includes Vodka, and red wine (white wine won't due. It has to be RED.) If your husband isn't a drinker, keep reading. This was recommended by a friend. Don't drink too much, as then this will increase your heartburn. Start off with half a shot or smaller and see if it gets better. IF the next day, the heartburn comes back, add a little, and I mean just a little, bit more. Stop drinking when you feel better.
Has he tried to raise his head when he sleeps? This helps tremendously for some people. Before he sleeps, tell him to add an extra pillow behind his head to add some extra height to his sleeping position. The key is to keep the acid from spurting up his esophagus tube. This won't STOP it completely, but it is a great reliever.
Visit another doctor, if you only visit one doctor. The reason is, that doctors don't have the time to sit down with you and talk about your problem to the fullest extent. They have many other patients, who are sicker than you, and doctors do not care if they lose a patient.
Belch. In other words, burp. Burping allows trapped air and gas to escape, which may lower the risk of it happening in the first place.
Eat less junk food, such as candy and fatty foods. Like the other answers, diet is very important.
Drink water. Water is essential nonetheless. But drinking water will help neutralize acid before it starts to hurt.
Stop using tobacco or smoking. You should try to quit, or stop smoking as much cigarettes if you do smoke. It weakens the esophagus muscles, allowing more acid to wash back up, causing more and painful "burning".
If this has been happening a long time, it might be an advanced and more serious version of acid reflux that requires surgery to repair the muscle. I don't mean to scare you or your husband, but it is possible. Like I said before, visit more than one doctor. One doctor might notice something the others didn't.
I hope that this helped, and that your husband

Okay, I want to be a fashion designer. I am so dedicated to this field of work. I make clothing alot, I made a bubble dress that I wore to picture day at school and everyone loved it asking me if I could make them one. I think I truly have a knack for this, I love it and I wouldn't give up designing for my life, I know I have all these ideas and a notebook, Lacey, that I carry around with me so I can draw down what I want to make next. This is so appealing to me, I just love it, I have all these great ideas! I saw on the news a girl my age, 15, was making clothes like me and she's big and famous already. Does anybody know what she did or have an idea of how she got to where she is, I mean, I have my own website showing off what I made but I heard Mrs. Obama is buying a dress from her! I want that. Anybody, please help me in achieving this. (link)
|
How old are you? Since you have a strong feeling that you want to be a fashion designer, you should follow up into it. To begin your career, you should try and make the clothes you design (if not, ask your mother to take you to a tailor and strike a deal) and "advertise" your clothes by wearing them. Don't forget your education, you will need decent grades to get a decent degree to apply for a job. I recommend you getting summer jobs in clothing stores like Abercrombie or Express. Once you have some recognition, you should try and open up your own clothing store. I remember a story about how Ralph Lauren (I think he started Polo? Not sure anymore) started his clothing label from a small-tie collection store.
Some things to remember:
1. Take art classes. Sketching is a very important skill in designing.
2.Show professionalism. Very important in looking for a job to start your career.
3.Don't give up, stick to your dream. I have many friends who gave up on their dreams, and now regret their lives.

i've been living with the mental condition brain fog for 6 years already. [i just recently found out i had this condition; i diagnosed myself ] for those that doesn't know what brain fog is; "it's a condition where people are in a state of confusion and a decreased level of clarity. Brain fog can cause an individual to be abnormally forgetful and detached. It can also lead to a feeling of discouragement and depression."
i've been extremely depressed, tried to commit suicide several times, been called "delusional," became anti-social, and lost numerous interests that i used to love doing.
i coudl feel, touch, smell, see, and hear my surroundings...yet i feel as though i'm not mentally there. everything seems so fake.
i tried everything the doctor told me to do; more excersise, more vitamins, a change in diet and such...yet i still feel dead. i want to feel alive again...i do not know what to do.
i do not want to suffer from brain fog for the rest of my life. those six years having brain fog has already taken so much out of me...
help. (link)
|
You cannot diagnose yourself. Never. Not even the world's best doctor is able to correctly diagnose himself. Why? Because what if our judgment is clouded by our condition? Either you are actually a victim of mental disorder, or you are just susceptible and naive to information.
You might not have brain fog, but instead, you may have schizo-affective disorder. Schizo-affective disorder is different from schizophrenia, so don't worry. Schizo-affective disorder mainly says that you experience some symptoms of schizophrenia, but you don't meet the whole criteria to be schizophrenic.
Considering that you still feel the need to stay alive (or feel alive), you can try to talk with a HIGHLY, and I stress the word HIGHLY, professional psychologist about psycho-surgery, or at least, anti-psychotic drugs. Although most forms of psycho-surgery are shunned today, i.e. the lobotomy, there are still methods considered slightly effective, such as a form more commonly known as shock therapy. Be warned, as psycho-surgery has it's major risks, the biggest being death, the second being worse off than before, and the third, being apathetic.
Talk with a professional, as we are not there to properly give advice. This is advice, and it is your opinion whether to follow it or not.

i smoked hookah shisha for two hours straight yesterday from school. i know that is very bad but i feel so addicted its all i want i hadnt even slept yet. is there anything i can do or smoke that is non tabacco or drug? and no gum to get me off, i mean something in alternative. my boyfriend of nearly two years is totally against any type of drugs or smokeing and i feel like a total bitch for keeping this from him but i cant handle it idk what to do? (link)
|
If you are old enough in your state to smoke, you should consult a doctor. A hookah doesn't filter all the harmful chemicals. It's moist, and less irritating, so it gives the user a false sense of security. Although it's less risky than cigarettes, it still multiplies the risk of lung cancer by five, compared to a non-smoker.
an alternative to cigarettes are herbal cigarettes, more commonly known as flavored cigs. You can find these at hard-core herbal stores, in convenience stores ( the quality is drastically lower), or from online herbal stores, such as:
http://www.flavoredsmokes.com
As for your relationship, tell him about your problem, but also how you plan to stop it. He may also give some insight.
|
How am I supposed to ask for advice if I dont know what my problem is. This is what happened to me a few weeks ago. I met this lady, a very brilliant, smart, sophisticated type of a woman.
She went out with me several times, we shared notes in our school work...she is a Physician Assistant student at University of Minnesota and am going for my masters in Mass Communication and Journalism.
After a few weeks, she started missing my phone calls, ignoring my phone calls and when I confronted her she asked me for money to pay a medical bill of 1,200.00.
What was she upto? I wondered!
So I asked her if she thinks we are heading anywhere with our relationship?
She said I was not her type....I was not light skin enough....I was tall enough and had the hair she liked but I was not light skin enough.
Should I bleach myself...cause I really care about her.....pleae advise. thanks...bye
(link)
|
I honestly have to say, she's a gold digger. A vulture. A siren.
What you should do, is confront her (very nicely), and ask her, if she is shallow enough to believe skin color determines the relationship. You should also find out what the medical bill was for, because that's one hefty bill. Ask her for her opinion of the relationship, then tell yours. Don't bleach yourself, because any modification of the body has risks. If things are going the wrong way, you can then use the fact that she lead you on for money as a guilt trip. Use anything else that would make her see the wrongs of her ways. If you care about her, then you would try the best to see that she won't lead somebody else on.

this is kinda confusing, but help out as much as you can. My exboyfriend whom i dated for a year and a half suddenly says he misses me after a year or so apart. the problem is...i have a new boyfriend, who i really do like and have been dating for 5 months. my ex boyfriend and me ended really badly and he broke up with me because he was confused and then after we were broken up for like 3 months i ended up sleeping at his house because i thought he wanted to make it work but then he turned out to not want that at all and i was completly crushed. he was the only guy i had ever been with. thats the point where i decided to just forget him and thats when i met my new boyfriend. who has been great but had quite a drug problem. he really has changed because there are certain side effects that come out in the bedroom if hes been doing bad...but anyways, he just has the problem of not always being there for me..but what i need help with is what i should do...i really miss my ex as a friend but find him not so physically attractive anymore..and i like my boyfriend a lot but hate that i feel confusion about the ex..i dont think its fair to him at all. i know my advice is gonna be to be single. but i dont know. im happy right now other than the confusion. any kind of advice or deep thoughts would help me a lot in this situation...please just tell me where i should stand. (link)
|
Dump him. Err...maybe the term is "don't go out with him again."
He probably has been cheating on you, then got dumped himself. Why else would he resume his communication with you, after shutting you out for a year? Besides, you already found a new boyfriend, one that you like very much. You can still be friends with him, it's your choice. But I advise you, people can get jealous, so unless you know this Ex really well, think about it.
And your new boyfriend, doesn't sound like a cool guy. He sounds like a guy who needs drugs to get on with his life. Unless those are prescribed drugs, and he isn't abusing them, then it's not a problem. But you say he's never there for you, and that's a sign of disrespect to yourself. You don't deserve another guy who leaves you.
In my opinion, overall, I would dump both, and stay single until I could find someone better. If you aren't the paranoid type, then go with the Ex. Your new boyfriend sounds like he might abuse you soon.

im in love with my girlfriend but i dont know how to tell her what should i say? how should i say it? when should i say it? (link)
|
If you're under 17, then the best way to say I love you, is whenever you are the most confident. Use common sense and don't say it right after she receives a phone call saying that her mother had just died. Say it when YOU think the feeling is right. Girls feel more loved whenever their boyfriends say "I Love You." in a confident way. The best time, in my opinion, to say it, is during one of your dates, or at the end of a party/social gathering. Be as close as you usually get, then get a little closer. And just say, "You know, after all these {insert years, months, weeks,days?}
If you're over 18, the best way to do it, is during a typical activity, such as a walk through the night, or a day at the park, hell, even in the coffee shop. It really doesn't matter when you get older, because the older you get, the stronger the words I love you become (the limit gets capped around the senior citizens years, so the effect starts to wear off).

1) Has more megapixels, but requires batteries
http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/lineup/digitalcamera/coolpix/performance/p100/index.htm
2) more expensive, but has a way better zoom, has less megapixels though =(
HELP all of you camera people! (link)
|
Megapixels don't matter. I have a Nikon that takes pictures at 4 megapixels and they are still high quality.
I recommend the P100, because the quality of the L100 looks worse than my camera.
Tips: Zoom doesn't really tell you much about the camera, because some camera manufacturers gyp you and say that their zoom is far-range, but what they don't tell you is that the quality decreases as the closer you zoom (due to natural hand movement.)
