I know that cold water makes hair shiny but I don't know why it works? Do you know? should I even care as long as it keeps working? LOL!

I guess what I wanna know most is does it hurt your hair?

Ok what I've HEARD is that hair kind of works like your skin does with pores. Hot water opens them up and cold water closes them. So if the 'pores' on your hair follicles are closed, it's not as textured so it's shiny and smooth :) Haha it's kind of a confusing answer but basically no, it doesn't damage your hair at all :)

I dye my hair dark brown/black and my hair is naturally light brown, so my eyebrows are also light brown. It looks weird and I would like my eyebrows to match my hair color or just somewhat close. I don't want to use a pencil or anything and the dye boxes always says not to use on eyebrows. What can I use or do that will work? I'd especially appreciate answers from people who have actually dyed/colored their eyebrows.

I'm pretty sure you can dye your eyebrows anyway, like the user below me stated. If not, one of my friends who was actually born with two different colored eyebrows goes to a salon to dye them to match. You could just check with your local salon to see if they can do that and how much it will cost :) hope I helped!

Okay. I feel my hair growing all over my head insted of the back of it. Is it because i sleep on the back of it everyday?

No, I don't think that would cause it... I sleep on my back everynight and my hair grows. You might want to go see a doctor if it's really bothering you :) hope I helped!

ohkay all my life i never looked my age and it's finally dawning down on me that i didn't grow up. so i need u guys to help me i'm turning 16 in july and i want a new me. and help we keeping it for senior yr. thankz

Um ok...contrary to what the person below me said...I disagree. Bright colors actually make you look younger. I think most older people dress a LOT more modest and in darker colors. But it's completly up to you :) Also, there's a girl in my school who just died her hair from blonde to brown and WOW she looks SO much more grown up! I mean it seriously looks like she's so much more mature and stuff :) So, I don't know if it's for you, but you can also dye your hair. But I would consult with my hairdresser if I were you. Just go in and say "Hey, I just want to look older...what do you think will help with that?" and they're usually pretty good at giving you ideas and suggestions :) Hope I helped!

i really really really want hair extensions.
i have medium length blonde hair that i get colored just about every two months (fyi) and my hair has been pretty much the same length for about a year now.
what are YOUR experiences with hair extensions?
painful? hard to manage? any problems? how long did they take to be applied? etc;.,
and i don't want clip on ones like the Jessica Simpson brand.

Ok, my friend has extensions that aren't clip in and she said

"they feel kinda weird when you first get them and the keep feeling weird for about 2 or 3 weeks until you get used to them."

so I guess they're somewhat uncomfortable for a few weeks. I have human hair clip in ones and I can honestly say I haven't had a problem yet :) they're easy to put in and you don't always have to wear them so if I don't want to put them in, I don't have to. They don't feel weird or like they're going to fall out at all and they're relatively easy to put in once you've done it a few times.

So now you know what both sides say :) hope I helped!

Hay! well,i got 200 dollers at victoria's secret, and i'm planning on useing it to buy a cute bathing suit and some other things. But you see, i do not have a loverly bunch of coconuts so to speak. What i'm getting at is- what style bathing suit would be good for a girl who is,ehhh, about a 34B? and would victoria's secret run big?

muchos gracias =]

haha I love how you put that lol
Well, what I did was I checked the bathing suit top before I got it to make sure the top was somewhat stiff. That way, it kind of poked out a little more then I really fit into hehe :) Also, I always thought the girls who wear the triangle bikinis looked like they had bigger boobs then any other kind, because it shows more skin and you can adjust the size. As opposed to bikini tops that dont tie or adjust sizes, because those cover more of your chest and pull tight on your "lovely bunch of coconuts" so they look smaller. So yeah, those things worked for me and I'm like a 32 A haha so I am always looking for new suits to make me look bigger lol :) goodluck!

I just bought a strapless dress for prom. I tried it on and it fit perfectly. The thing is the dress is very heavy and I was wondering if anyone knew any tricks on how to keep it up. It wouldn't fall of my chest, but it falls lower than it should.

You could do a few things.

1) where it a few times. Get used to it and the style.

2) go to a tailor or sew it yourself at home.

3) Safety pins. Safety pin the hem of the dress so that it stops shorter.

I'm sorry that's really all you can do about this. For future reference, always try on a dress before you buy it and make sure you move around in it and only buy it if it's a comfortable fit. Hope I helped a bit!

I have side swept bangs and am sick of having to get them cut all the time. If I don't cut my hair it grows way too quickly and end up with bangs that flop down in my face and have absolutey no shape.

I need a change of hairstyle, I definately want bangs. How should I get them cut?

Here's a bit of info on me to help you:
- I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and a fair complexion.
- My face is a little squarish. (I think its fat looking)
- I have a wide nose which I'd like to hide.
- I have long hair (to my boobs).
- I have to wash my hair every second day of it looks like I dipped my bangs in a bucket of oil.

Any pictures would be fantastic. Thanks to everyone who contributes.

I hide my nose too, so I know how you feel :) I have a nose with a bump in it so this is that my hair style is:

http://tinypic.com/usermedia.php?uo=nL9YxEDXPYovMlYRh%2BCLoQ%3D%3D

I cut my own bangs and cut them so they can cover the bump in my nose without going completely all over my face :) You sound like you have hair like me pretty much :) so, I'd suggest my hairstyle, or at least one the looks a tad like it, meaning:

keep your hair long and try not to tuck it behind your ears ever, since you have a wide face. Keeping your hair like that will make your face look longer and more slim :) and when you get bangs, be sure to tell the stylist (if you end up not doing them yourself) EXACTLY how long/short you want them! Stylist sometimes have a habit of going to short because they cut it right after they wash it when it's still wet. And when your hair dries, it's shorter because your hair is weighted down and looks longer when it's wet. So make sure you specify exactly what you want and don't be afraid to stop her if she's doing it wrong.

I wash my hair every other night. I wash it and then blowdry it to roughly the shape I want and then I sleep on it so it gains it's natural oils back while you sleep :) that way your hair won't look dry or washed out in the morning!

To avoid oily bangs, keep your face washed every morning and night and try not to touch your face/bangs, but, if you don't have time to take a quick shower and your bangs are oily, you can do a quick fix trick I use on the nights I fall asleep before I take a shower. Sprinkle a tad bit of baby powder on your brush (you can do it directly on your hair, but I recommend just on the brush because it will go all the way through and get every hair instead of just the top) then run it through your bangs and the baby powder will suck the oil right up for the time being :) Then I run my flat iron over them a bit to get whatever's left out so my bangs aren't white. You should probably experiment with this on a weekend day so if you mess up you don't have to go to school like that ;)

I hope I helped!

i have hair like the second girl in this picture
http://images.teamsugar.com/files/users/2/20652/35_2007/HairTeenChoice2007.jpg

except my bangs are different but i want mine like hers...like how hers curve a little so they dont cover he eye..itried blowdrying it that way but after like an hour it just goes back to being straight and in my face...how can i get them like hers?

You could use a curling iron a bit on the ends, but I do my hair like that sometimes and I take my flat iron and it's like I'm straightening my bangs, but you gradually curl your bangs towards you. Then they go like that :) Hope I helped!

I got my hair hilighted recently and i don't like it that much. My hair is dark brown and she put bright blonde streaks and it looks weird when i have it in a pony tail because the colors are so different and they contrast so much. I don't hate it, i just kinda wish i had my old hair back. She also didn't get all they way to my scalp in some places so when i wear it how i ususally wear it, you can see the big chunk she missed. I can't go back there because it is a long way away and nobody in my family knows how to do those home dying kits. I'm scared when i go back to school nobody will like it. It's not the worst but def. not the best either! What do i do? I can't get it re dyed because that would cost to much! thanks!

I believe there is something they sell in stores that strips your hair of any dye. I'm not sure what it's called, but I'm sure a worker could tell you. I believe it's sold at walmart. Or you could just take a LOT of showers until it starts to fade. Use a strong shampoo :) Hope I helped!

Omg,
So since its been getting colder;
My hair is like getting kinda frizzy latley.

It sucks :[
My hair is wavy.
But like ive been thinking of getting like
one of those straight perms.

& like i was wonderig,
if i get it,(the perm)
will my hair still frizz or no?

& also if theres any do it at home ones,
which are TRUElY the BEST ones cos i dont want to f*ck up my hair lol
THANK U!

No, your hair will not frizz if you get the straight perm. However, do you really want to spend all that money on your hair just because of it's reaction to winter air? If I were you, I would just get an anti-frizz gel for your hair. I use "Garnier Fructis Sleek&Shine Anti-frezz Serum" and it works wonders! If you do get the perm though, I would reccommend going to the salon instead of buying a do-it-yourself one. It's more professional and they're less likely to mess up :) Hope I helped!

Mkay, so im 14 F.

And if i take a ahower in the morning I dont have enough time to blow dry and straighten to get to school early unless I get up at like 5 am (which im NOT going to do) . But is there anything I can do with my hair besides scrunching it?

My hair is medium length and light brown.

I want some cute ideas that dont take long and i have alot of products/ and can get some if some of the ideas need ones I dont have!

thanks a bunches!
=]]

Well, I always take a shower at night and then play with it when it's dry. Then I put it normal and sleep on it so it's not frizzy in the morning. So, you can scrunch it (what you already do), straighten it, curl it, crimp it, OR come up with your own style :) What I used to do (It takes a loonnngg time) is I'd straighten my hair completely then I'd take my straightener and a section of my hair and start at the top making the straightener face outwards and then alternate to inwards, to make sort of a zig zag thing :) It looks really cool and then you hair spray it and it will stay :) You can also do the same thing with braids, straighten your hair and then braid a couple small sections on the outside of your hair and hairspray it super good so you don't need a hair tie :) It looks really cool and people will ask you how you got that to stay x). Also, 2 loose braids are always in style. Put them low and on either side of your head and make them realllyyyy loose so the kind of look messy. Or a side ponytail that's low and loose. And messy buns are always in style :) Hope I helped!

so i seen on one of the advicenators pictures, she had her hair like this..

http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo178/laurencos22/ya.jpg

i was just wondering what she did to it?
it looks like she crimped it, maybe curled it?
i dont know. thing is i dont have a crimper. i have a straightener and i hear you can try and crimp your hair with that but i don't really feel like buying a crimper. i can't curl my hair, i've tried many times and everytime it looks like crap. any suggestions? thanks!

17/f by the way.

Hm.... well my friend does something to her hair where she used a straightner but while she is pulling it through her hair, the straightner is flipped so it's kind of like she's using a curling iron but the hair doesn't go around it. When she let's it go it kind of looks like that :) oooorrrrr you could try doing what the person below me said :) Sounds like that would work too. Oh yeah, and it looks too me like she just used eyeliner and mascara and got a little bit of purple or blue eyeshadow? Goodluck! Hope I helped!

SO i heard that if you ahve really frizzy, think, curly, wave hair that if you perm it. it will calm it down. is this true?
or something of the sort?

Noooo, actually it would probably make it look work because you would still have frizzy hair, but it would be permed frizzy hair D: Just use a really moisturizing shampoo or conditioner, and you can also use leave-in conditioner :) I also use Rave Hairspray :D spray a bit all over and then brush it out and walla! It stays and doesn't frizz! Goodluck!

hi

well first off, you can't get a nose job at 14. The doctors want your facial bones to stop growing before they start changing things. Some doctors do them at 16 though. Second, honostly, you will most likely grow into your nose. That's why they wouldn't do the surgery now, because you could grow into your nose later and it would screw it up. If the guys are so shallow to freak about your nose, they aren't worth your time anyways. You want a guy who loves you for you and thinks you beautiful how you are :) try focusing on the parts of you that you love. Sounds like you like the rest of you! lol, think about how fortunate you are to be skinny, to have beautiful eyes :) goodluck! Hope everything works out for you!

what does it mean when a straightener is a nano?

Ok, i have a paul mitchell straightner and it works good but my hair is really thick and it gets it straightned but sometimes it still leaves it poofy. Well my friend got a new straightner from walmart and used it on my hair and it works really good! My hair was so flat and straight. The paul mitchell straightner was kind of expensive and the one from walmart was cheap and it worked bettter. Why is this? Also, is there any straigtners you know of that are between 20-50 dollars that work well? thanks!

well, usually things are expensive because of the brand name. So, even if the straightener IS good, most of what you are paying for is the name. also, go to best buy and type in straighteners. The second one down (conair infiniti) is the best straightener in my opinion. WAY better than my old chi. It's a little over your budget, but it's well worth it! Also, when you get a straightener, make sure the hot plates are ceramic. those work the best :) Goodluck!

does chi straitner ever go on sale?

what is the lowest price it has ever gotten?

which oneof chi straitners would yoo recommend to me?

-It mostly depends what store you're looking in. Usually online stores have sales.

-I got mine for about 120 dollars

- I got the chi turbo and it worked good for about 3 weeks. then it broke.

Instead, may I reccomend the Conair Infiniti Nano Tourmaline Ceramic Hair Straightener. it's cheap and works wonders. MUCH better than my old chi and much cheaper. I bought mine online here:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=HWMRXU4QZ00UZKC4D3OFAHA?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=pcat17071&type=page&st=straighteners&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=15&sp=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960

second one down :) goodluck hope you find one that works for you!!!
