Ohhkay. Where to start. I'm confused. It really would be great to get some older opinions on this question. My topic is: teenage love. What does everyone think of it? Because all my friends, or a fair few, will have a boyfriend who they keep for a week or a month or two and they'll be from day one, "head over heels in love". Now, I for one think that's ridiculous! They're 15/16 year olds and, in particular examples, they'll have a week or two, maybe a month of I love You after they met about 2 days previously - or online or something, and then it stops. I for one think that love can't be anything more than infatuation, but I think this has become the image of teenage love. Now I started going out with my boyfriend 11 months ago and I knew I didn't love him at the start. It was like a 15 year old crush on both parts. I didn't admit to myself I loved him until about 5 months had passed. And even then I didn't say it verbally. Now, at 11 months I feel like I can talk about it freely with him and we've never been closer; I really can't see the end right now, even though everything inevitably ends. But my parents seem to think that it won't last and I'm being ridiculous, wanting to see him so much. They say it won't last, although compared to my friends, me and my boyfriend are practically an old aged married couple - they say its ridiculous that tennagers can possibly even contemplate the meaning of the word 'love'. They also say that what I have is hardly a commitment or any kind of dedication even though I feel completely commited , which I will admit came with time (about a month or two, even more so now). I just want to know - is this true? Have any of you ever experienced or seen 'teen love' do anything but crash and burn compared to the relationships people have when slightly older? Do you think that for some people, like me, it could last? Or is it, in your opinion also, likely to end and be forgotten about? Do you think there is more of a sense of commitment when you're more mature or an equal amount?

Thankyou! Your feedback is
VERY MUCH appreciated

I, like you, thought me and my boyfriend were meant to last forever. He got really hardcore into drugs after 2 1/2 years of dating, and ended up beating the living shit out of me and we broke up. All I'm saying is, be careful, because no one should have to deal with abuse. Best of luck.

ok, let's say there's a girl at your school, and *everyone* knows that her boyfriend is cheating on her, but she doesn't seem to realize it. do you feel sorry for her, or do you just think she's stupid for not seeing it? and then... when she does find out, she forgives her bf and gives him a 2nd chance. do you think she's a nice, forgiving person who loves her bf, or do you think she's a complete idiot for letting him play her like that? just wondering, becuz that girl is me and i wonder what people might be saying/thinking about me!
(link)
Don't worry too much about what other people are saying about you because that's not what matters in the end. I know what you mean though, I've been that girl and if you're worried about what other people around you are saying or thinking it just makes things harder because you feel worse. Do what you do.

Okay.. Please help me!
I go to camp in a place 15 minutes from me.
I've been going there for about 4 years.
Last year i met 3 guys...
Steve. David. Jon.
They were all really sweet and my best friends.
they are still all my best friends.
I really liked steve though.
more than friends.
he actually asked me out, and we went out
2 months after camp ended, i had to break up.
i never saw him!
and he did too many drugs!
so i broke up with him, and he was pretty upset.
Now we're still really good friends,
and he's always protecting me.
He has a girlfriend sam now... so its cool.
There was David,
who when i was going out with steve..
i thought i liked david a little bit too
he was way too sweet!
This year... its so awkward!
steve isnt in it anymore,
but we all still talk
Jon started holding my hand..
kissing me...
and putting his arm around me.
and it was weird because i like him too.
but, me and jon arnt going out
cuz he lives too far away.
Now i just found out david likes me.
and i cant help it because david is amazing.
i am always having dreams about david!
like.. sneaking behind jon and kissing david
but i dont think i like him..
well i guess im just trying to tell myself i dont
even though i might.
now my friends christine and russel,
are going to the movies as friends
(russel wants it as a date...but christine doesnt)
and they want me to go and to bring a guy friend. i thought to bring jon.
christine sed no
because it would be like a double date
because me and jon would be kissing...
so i said i'll bring david.
since he is my closest guy friend.
but truthfully...me and david would
probolly end up kissing too if he went.
jon is upset about david going because
he wants to go with me.
but david said he wont go if jon is going.
Oh and also,
me and david keep saying we're going to make-out and its going to be so cool,
and at first it was a joke..
but it's really not anymore.
steve said if i cant pick who to bring..
i should just bring steve.
ugh! what do i do? (link)
Bring who you want to bring and tell your friends to leave you alone, they can deal with their shit on their own. If she doesn't want it to be a date, she can tell him that. And if you'll end up kissing either way then it doesn't matter who you bring, so bring the one you actually like.

hi im kate

It's possible you need a break from this relationship to sort things out and clear your head, which could help stop the fighting. Especially if he is not listening to you when you try and talk to him about it, it could be a serious reality check for him if you tell him you wanna take a break.

So either, break it off for now or try talking to him again, without fighting.

The one thing you need to remember is that not everyone who decides to "take a break" does not always get back together, despite everything. Just a risk to keep in mind.

rite.. me and my bf had sex last sat.. we did not use a condom [stupidly].. it only lasted 5 mins. but we did it about 3 times & we was playing with eachother in between... he was not properly hard! when we had sex.. and i was wet so i duno wether he pre-cumd but he did not cum inside me.. can i be preg??? .. im 14. and im so scared..

HELP PLZ (link)
You could be. But its too late to get emergency contraception so you will just have to wait and see if you get your period. But DONT STRESS because your period WILL be later that way. If you don't get it wait like 5 days then get a pregnancy test.

Hey Christeena I have this problem that while me and my boyfriend are having sex he cant seem to cum...What should I do to make him come faster?
Thank You! (link)
Hmmm, it could be that he is just one of the guys that takes awhile for him to orgasm. If it's your guy's first time, or first few times, it's going to take awhile until you guys figure out what works for you. Have fun and experiment, because although it is frusterating for him that he can't come, and for you too, it just gives you more time to experiment! (Because there is a thing as cumming to quickly.) So just ask him what he likes and sort of experiment until you find something that works.

COMMON PROBLEMS ---

Girl isn't wet enough --- Try some lubrication, preferably warming for a new sensation.

Nervousness --- It just takes time...

Not excited enough --- Try more foreplay time to get him more stimulated.

Do guys like it better if you wear lipgloss when you kiss/makeout with them? I"ll rate i promise!! (link)
I wouldn't really wear anything when kissing or making out because it tends to get messy and I'm sure your guy doesn't want his lips to be cherry red! Lol, anyways, sometimes even chapstick can be messy, my boyfriend has complained about it a few times. So I say put on some chapstick beforehand and let it soak in so your lips are kissably soft for the occasion! ;)

Hope I helped and have fun!

My boyfriend is going to another country to be with his family. We've been together for just 4 months and i don't know if our relationship's worth keeping or not.
Please help me!

P.S.
I'm fifteen years old, by the way. (link)
If you question whether it's worth it or not, that might be a sign.

Talk to him about it and see how he feels. It's gonna be a two way thing.

17/f. Recently I found out that my boyfriend had kissed his best friend about 2 months ago. Found out from a source other than him. As far as I know, it was a quick thing that he regretted afterwards, a slip. I'm not really mad that it happened, but I'm kind of hurt that my boyfriend wouldn't tell me, we're always very open with eachother about everything and I've told him before that he can tell me things like that without me being irrational. I'm wondering if you think I should ask him about it? He's never given me a reason not to trust him before, and I'm pretty sure I know why/how it happened, I just don't know whether to bring it up with him.
Thanks :) (link)
Hmm, tough one. Some people might say to talk to him so he realizes it's not going to slide and so he knows he did something wrong but you won't totally flip over it, yet, if it's in the past, it might not be worth getting in a big fight over. If you really want an honest relationship I would bring it up though by saying, "Hey, I heard ------ through the grapevine and I was wondering if it was true or not. I won't be mad I'm just a little hurt that you didn't tell me before."

much ♥
Christina

that was my previous problem,

she and my parents both think I need someone older. Mom thinks that Trae is just infatuated with me since I was his first everything. He wants sex, which that is a given, all guys do, and thats what got us in trouble because his grandma found out, and i told him mom we wouldn't do it again and hes still trying to find loopholes and do other sexual things. Mom said he's making me miserable. Mom said sex is all he wants since one day when I was on my period he didn't want to see me for that specific reason. I'm not allowed to see him for like 2 months till his mom gets back because his grandma won't let him see me. I don't know what to do. If I should break up with him, or what? (link)
You need to talk with him and see if he does just want you for sex. And if he does, is it worth having a relationship for? If he denies it, you still need to test him. Cut him off for awhile and see his reactions. Base the relationship on something other than physical stuff (no blow jobs, hand jobs, touching genitals, etc) if he retracts or doesn't want to hang out when you cut him off (or if you are ragging) you know what he wants. Then, it's up to you. Best of luck!

Hi! Yes, this is another relationship question... but it is different, so stay with me! Just read over my situation and tell me what you think! I'm 20/f by the way! Thanks! :)

When I was a senior in high school I met a guy, and we hit it off really well and ended up in a 2 year relationship. We broke up at the beginning of my 2nd year of college because we began to fight a good bit. We fought because I wanted to experience the single college life, and he was a year older than me, but not in college, and didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. We stopped talking for 4 months, and it was very hard at first but we both got over it after we cut off all contact. In December he left for the Army, and he called me to tell me. I wrote him a letter, and he called me. 4 months later, we now talk on the phone all the time. He is currently stationed about 700 miles from me, and is getting deported overseas soon. But our feelings for one another have come back in full swing now that we talk all the time. The differences we had are no longer there. We always say how we miss one another and this and that... but we both know that a long distance relationship for the next 4 years while he's in the army is unrealistic.

So basically our plan is to contunue talking, and emailing, and he will come home and visit as much as he can... and when he is home we will basically be together all the time, have sex... basically act like a couple. We can both see each other married in a couple of years, but do you think this is a good idea? We really care for each other, but is this worth it if it's going to make our lives so much harder? I mean it will be so hard having to see him for a few days, and then watching him leave for months. Do you think it is a good idea, or do you think cutting off all contact and taking the "easy way out" would be better? What would be the best thing for us? I appreciate your opinions... thank you! (link)
I agree with the last person that responded. If you think this guy is your soulmate, by all means, go for it!! Don't let an amazing love pass you by.

Best of luck!!

Ok so i'm going out with this guy, and now my ex has showed up and i have minor feelings for him but when he talks about another girl or something i get jelous and want him back what should i do? please help i'll rate 5 for any advice thanks! (link)
Is giving up what you have now worth leaving him for your ex? I don't know what kind of terms you and your ex ended it on so I can't really help there. Ask another question if you want.

alright for this i dont want anyone telling me " that i should just let them be" or anything ..alright so this boy and girl...there going out...i lke the boy and the girl is my friend..they have been going out for like a week and they dont talk on the phone and barely see eachother...and i feel like i talk to the boy more than she does and so i want them to break up..want are some good ways to get them too?

ILL rate 5 for anyways..just not like " thats mean" (link)
I don't even care if I get rated low for this, it has to be said.

Trying to break people up is about as low as it can get. In the first stages of a relationship people are often nervous around each other so it's understandable if they don't talk or see each other much. Does that mean you need to intervene? Just think of how you would feel. You just start dating this guy and your so called "friend" tries to break you two up.

Pathetic.

TO YOUR FEEDBACK:

That doesn't give you any excuse to act like a bitch and try and break them up. She can't help who she likes. And how the heck am I supposed to know the whole story if you don't give it? Hmm?

ive been dating my boyfriend off and on for 5 years. were together and doing very good right now... but christmas is just around the corner and i cant think of anything!! every one says get im cologne or clothes but he wouldnt like that. were 16 and i know one of the things he got me and its a bracelet..i want to get him something special. maybe something i make and something to buy. im willing to spend 35-40$ any ideas?? thanks! (link)
Um, well for Christmas I bought by boyfriend two DVD's of a country singer he really likes, a Chevy racing beanie, and a 300-watt Jensen amp for his truck. It totaled around $100. But if you have been together for a long time think of things he likes and get him little things to go along with that. A scrapbook would also be cute!

I've been trying to figure this out since I've been with my boyfriend for the past 2 months. It's a new relationship but we feel like we've known each other all our lives. He is the greatest guy I've ever met - handsome, funny, smart, sweet, loving, sexy, treats me like queen. But the thing, before we got together, I NEVER would have thought I was his type. I'm a regular girl, take care of myself, care about people, not a hot babe or anything but I'm alright. So anyhow, I feel insecure to be with him because with how hot and great he is, he's bound to find a hot and great girl. Therefore, I find myself very very skeptical about this relationship lasting. I've talked to him and believe me, he reassures me like crazy that he wants to be with me and feels like he can love me forever. He really does have a good head on his shoulders. But what does add to it, is that he has a lot of female friends as well - all are just long time friends, but these girls are great as well, and I feel like he's bound to fall for one of them soon. It's so frustrating to be with such a great guy and not feel like you're the centre of his world (even when he treats you like it). What can I do? (link)
Just realize that once you get over your self loathing and thinking you're not good enough you will be able to enjoy this relationship to the fullest. Plus, guys love self confident (NOT COCKY) girls.

ok well muh ex bf juss broke up with me last night. we went out for 3 weeks but we been talkin since da first week of school. and we talked a lot PRETTY much every night n in school. after he broke up with me i cried for about 20 min or so but now i dont really care dat we're not together or do I? bcuz da nite he broke up with me he went out n he was talking to this girl but she thinks hes just cute thats all they know each other bout 5 yrs now. but im so jelous EVEN THOUGHT THEY R JUS FRIENDS. im reali upset dat me n him wont talk as much anymore. i have to see him at school and same lunch table AUGH! BUT EVEN though it seems i have a lot of feelings for him still BUT I DONT! so do u think im right for being jelous and what should i do if he stops talking to me as much? (link)
You could either be wanting him back and your mind is just not letting you admit that or you just miss what you and him had together and you're going to miss the routine of talking every night. And yeah, you're going to be jealous. That's how things work. Even if they're just friends, you are totally normal to have some jealousy. And yeah, you guys might stop talking as much. That's bound to happen when two people break up. But spend that time to find another person to invest your time in. Best of luck!

Do any other girls have a list of qualities that they want in a potential boyfriend? I have a list of about 20 things that I want a guy to have before I date him.
For example, he must be a non-smoker, have a good job, live on his own, be neat in appearance, have a vehicle, and no children from a previous relationship. These are just some of the things. I had one guy ask me out but because he lived with his mother and smoked I turned him down. Another guy asked me out and he had a 5 year old daughter, so I turned him down to. Some people say I being too picky, well I tell them I just have high standards.
Part of the reason for this is because my last boyfriend was a total loser. He was on welfare, he didnt have a car or a license, he was dirty, he smoked, and was financially and mentally abusive to me.
Do any other woman have high standards? And do you think I'm being too picky? Also do you think I'm scared of being hurt again so that is why I strive so high, and subconsiously I'm doing this so I won't have a boyfriend again? (link)
It's fine to have high standards, but think about this. By passing up a guy just because he smokes, or some other aspect that goes against your list, you could be passing up the love of your life. And just because certain guys meet these qualities doesn't mean that things will work out.

Sooo along time ago i like this boy jack a whollle lot!!! And now... a year later... me and him started going out.... I dont do any drugs or smoke or anything. Andi knew he smoked cigs.. but i can deal...and then i find out he smokes weed.... once again i can deal...just as long as he dont do it around me. But now im seeing that hes a lil too obsessed with weed ...and now i find out he does dip. I DONT WANNA KISS THAT!!
I really loves him and ive waited so long for this , but the dip and stuff crossed the line .... I dont know if i wanna break up with him, cus i love him ...but it seems a little out of control. PLEASE HELP! (link)
Breaking up with him is really not the answer here. If you love him be willing to talk to him about all of this and tell him your point of view. If he acts like a total ass about it then it is up to you. He may be your boyfriend but you can't change him unless he wants to.

Oh, and my boyfriend chews and honestly, it's really not all that nasty to kiss him. Just don't totally go at it when he has chew in his mouth. It's really not that bad.

kay..well i hve a boyfriend that im COMPLETELY in love with...we've been together for half a year...and i couldnt be happier...except..i cant stop thinking about my ex. my ex broke my heart so many times...and i was so in lov with him...i didnt get over him for two and a half years..and i gues im still not over him...he flirts w/ me alot..and talks about our pass and says he misses me..and i miss him too. i dont kno what to do...i absolutely cannot make myself stop thinking about him...i cant beleeve i miss him so much..i think i still love him..after all, he was my first love..and i kno its normal to never forget your first love..but this is different...i think i still love him..and i HATE it..i feel so horrible..please help..

signed..allison (link)
You cannot be completely in love with your current boyfriend until you let go of your ex. And if you can't do that, then maybe you should consider your options.

Your ex broke your heart. Yes, while you were in love, and think you might still be, why throw away a totally good relationship to something that might end up the same way it did in the past? There will ALWAYS still be a part of you that loves him. Always. You just need to figure out if it's worth giving up what you've got now to find out if it will work. I wouldn't give up a 6 month relationship for an old flame, but like someone else said, weigh the pros and the cons.

Good luck!

I have been going out with a guy i've liked forever as of yesterday. He is already saying I love you and I said it back. Are we both just saying it or what? (link)
I saw this quote online...

"They say hate is such a strong word. So is love, but people just throw it around like it's nothing."
