I'm 21 years old, female, and hovering between 240 and 250 lbs. Size 16, if that helps... so it sits pretty okay on me, but I'm not happy with it.
I was always really fit in high school, always around 180 lbs of pure muscle (I actually hold a black belt in karate), and even after starting university I managed to avoid the freshman 15. However, I went through a very stressful time in my life, and ended up gaining about 70 lbs over the course of 2 years. In the past couple of summers, I have managed to lose 30 or 40 lbs with relative ease, but as soon as I'm back at home, I gain it all back.
This summer, I'm living in my own house, and my husband will be gone for 4 months (he's with the military). I'm thinking that this is a good time to really tackle my weight before it tackles me.
First off, I already do not eat junk food. My problem is too much healthy food if anything. I don't eat fried food and rarely eat sweets. My sweets, when I do eat them, are generally something like a slice of homemade banana bread, or a small piece of dark chocolate. I try to control my portions, but always end up hungry again. I drink nothing but water and the occasional diet, caffeine free soda. I get out for walks regularly, and ride a bicycle to and from work. I've just started up with seeing a trainer a few times a week, but that will only last about a month due to financial constraints. I have a gym membership, too.
The way I see it, I need to lose between 80 and 100 lbs. I'm not planning to do it in one summer, but I figure that while I am bored I will be able to take a good crack at it and get a start.
Any tips on how to lose it and keep it off? I feel like I'm doing the right things, but it never seems to work. It's like my metabolism is stuck.
Also, if anyone out there needs to lose a similar amount of weight, I would love to have a weight loss buddy. All my friends are in the 120-150 range, so they don't really have the same sort of weight loss goals as me.
Eating acai berries promotes weight loss. you can find them at health stores and they are completely natural. it sounds like if you stick to what you have said above that you will have results. good luck!
OK so Im 5ft 8 and I weigh around 130 something...Am I fat? People call me fat and all I can do is cry about it. I eat a lot. I dont notice I eat that much but I do :(
When i checked it online, your completely normal. HOwever, if you really wanted to, you could lose 15 pounds and still be in the normal catagory. I hope i helped!!! Leave a question in my inbox if you need anything!1

15/f. tomorrow after school i'm going out with a bunch of friends, but then we are all going back to someone's house to swim. So my question is, is there anything i can do or eat that will keep me thin throughout the day so i look good in my bathing suit?
in the morning when i wake up i am really thin. but after i eat my stomach kind've "expands". so is there any special tips that i can do to keep my stomach flat? or what are some foods that will guaruntee me to stay thin and not to expand?
i am going to school, so i can't just skip lunch or anything. oh and please don't be like they're your friends, they don't care how thin you are, i know that. its just that i want to look my best since a lot of guys will be there. thanks sooo much!
I would stay away from ANY pop, even diet, because it can make you look bloated because of the fizz stuff (i forgot what it is called haha).
Also, stay away from a lot of breads and things high in sugar.
I have also read in a lot of magazines that eating a mostly all vegetable diet 1-3 days before swimming will help you look the skinniest.

i weigh 130 and i'm 5'5 with a 26 inch waist. im not sure if it is or not. so, is that normal, or not?
I checked your bmi on http://www.am-i-fat.com, and you are perfectly normal. Although if you feel overweight or want to become healthier, you could easily become 115-120 and still be at an average weight. i hope i helped.
okay so, i just got back from vacation almost 3 week tomorrow. So when i got back i weighed myself. 125.5. During my presence back at home i've been eating less just a fruit for breakfast but then i've eaten alot of lunch and dinner. a little bit less then normal. Last night i weighed myself i weighed 119.5, i've lost about 6 pounds in 3 weeks, non-diet. is that normal? also there are little bumps around my armpits area like pimples sort. please tell me whats happening. i've also been having diahhrea.
The reason you are weighing less is because you have been eating less, also because when you were on vacation you were eating out, which is usually more fattening than regular home foods that you cook. This is completely normal. The dots like pimples around your armpits are just ingrown hairs. Since you are just eating fruit for breakfast, this is why you are having diahhrea. Eating a lot of fruit causes you to have diahhrea. This means that you need more fiber.
I want to know how to biuld up upper arm mucsle w/o my parents knowing. this is b/c they would go into shock b/c i am smart not athletic. thanks to those of you who respond.
You could do "lady" pushups (where you get into a crawling position and do push ups that way) in your room and just do as many as you can, increasing the amount every week.
my thighs are kinda fat. i dont like it. i play soccer and run but it dosnt seem to be helping. what can i do to make them skinnier?
You are doing well by excersising. If you don't think what you are doing is working, then i would try a stair-stepper or climber. Also, eat lots of vegatables and fruits, whole grains and stay away from sugar and high carbs. If you don't eat healthily, then you are just putting fat right back into your body.
I have very low self esteem and I dont like being around people because of my figure...
im about 5'7''-5'8'', and a little under 150 lbs. I dont think I am "ugly" but im not skinny at all. My first day of school is in like 20 days, and I wanna look a little better if possible. WEll, it's very good that you are not planning on crash dieting. That will TOTALLY slow down your metabolism and end up making you gain weight. I would stay away from ALL sugar...and only eat whole grain breads and cereal. EAt TONS of veggies. also fruits eat lots of those too. You could walk 2-3 miles everyday and don't spend a whole lot of time doing crunches because they wont help much till your fat is gone on your belly, and just make it look bigger because the muscles got bigger. If you excercise, but then eat fatty or sugary foods, you are not going to get anywhere because you are just putting fat and sugar right back into your body. You could try aerobics (buy a video at target or walmart pretty cheap) with weights, because if you do not lift weights while dieting, you lose muscle weight too, which you do not want.
everyone says to lose the fat you have to do cardio and i need some good ideas that work quickly and well cosz i have muscles just their uderneath the fat so plese ideas? thanks.
walking 2-3 miles every day or running works wonders for me. Also, if you are excersing but then just putting fatty foods right back into your body, it probably isn't going to change your body. Eating lots of vegetables and fruits is the key, and staying away from tons of carbs and sugar.

I need some advice on how to lose weight quickly. I weigh between 147-150 pounds and I'm almost 5'5. I really wanna be as skinny as possible before school starts in a week. I only need to lose about 5-7 pounds, but I need a weight loss plan that will work super quick!

Ok, no one's advice on the internet is GUARANTEED to help you lose weight because every body will react differently. I just wanted you toknow that before anyone gives you advice. But, what worked for me is just eating a LOT of vegetables and staying away from sugar and a lot of carbs. You do need some carbs, but you can still cut a lot out of your diet. Eat fruit though. Also you might want to do aerobics, or walk 2 miles everyday. If you start craving something with high carbs or sugary, i would try chewing gum or you can get crystal light at the store. you just put it in water...only 5 calories. lately ive been drinking a lot of extra water for some reason and started doing some abdominal excersises but now my stomach is a lot bigger then it usually is
arent those excersises supposed to make your stomach smaller?
The excersises on your abs will make your muscles bigger. To make your stomach smaller, you have to do ab excercises AND cardio. (cardio: running, walking, swimming, jump rope all for a minimal 30 min.)
ive been doing a lot of ab excersises lately
so i think the muscle is getting bigger but that layer of fat is not so my stomach is getting bigger...anyone know how to just make my stomach as flat as possible?
You are right. The muscle will continue to get bigger, but the fat on top is not going to go away. In order to remove that fat, you are going to have to do cardio and eat healthy. (cardio: running, walking, swimming, aerobics,) That will erase the fat.
ok well today i just got the ab lounge 2 i want to no if it really works and if it does should i do it 10 minutes a day? or what

The ablounge 2 alone will not give you any noticeable results if you only do just the ablounge. To see results you are going to have to do cardio also. (swimming, walking, running, biking,jump rope) Also, make sure youa re not eating junk, because that will just replace everything you lost. Eat a lot of veggies and fruits.

My birthday is in less than a month and I NEED A FLAT STOMACH. I am getting my navel pierced on mu brithday or some days before that. Can someone please help me get my stomach flatter, its not outrageous big, but it's not the flat that I want it. Can you please give me some effective workouts that will trigger my stomach and abs or whatever. THank u so much in advance
If you have fat sitting on your stomach, dont do just crunches. Try running 1 mile the first days (about three days) then kick it up to two. That will burn fat. Doing crunches doesn't get rid of the fat on your stomach. Also, stay away from high calorie sauces, potatoes, corn and high carbs. Make sure you are eating plenty of fruits and veggies. I wouldnt eat very much bread either. hope i helped!
Ok, so i've heard a bunch about crunches and sit ups, but what really is the correct way to do them?
do you see results when you do a lot of them.. or is how slowy and concentrated they are? do you put your hands or your chest or behind your head?
i just want these answers because i do them everyday, and im not seeing any results.

If you have fat on your stomach, that is why you are not seeing results. The muscles are getting results, but they are not noticeable because they are being covered up. To get rid of fat, i run/walk about 2 miles everyday. When you are just starting out i would just do 1. I hope i helped!
okay well this summer i decided im going to try and lose weight. so i decided if i eat right and jump on the trameline everyday i will lose some weight. (im babysitting this summer so ill be playing with little kids and obvisously be doing other exercises like running around with them and other things) my question is about how much weight do you think i could lose by september?

I think they say that the most you should lose is 2 pounds a week to stay healthy and not lose to much at once.
okay im so stressed out with love and my friends moving away and i need a way to relieve the stress so particarly are ther any tae kwon do work outs?
I would go to a store and just see what they have. Ask some friends what they like to do when they are stressed. It's really good that you like to take out your stress by excersising and not other things! Sorry i didn't really recommend things, but i would just see what stores in your town have.
Okay. Im 13/f looking for some good excercise tips for over the summer. I need to tone the area around my stomach and my thighs. Any advice anyone? I will rate! Thanks =]
if you have no fat on your belly then i would do crunches to get your stomach in shape. If you have any fat on your belly, doing cardio burns fat quickly (like swimming, running, arobics, biking etc). Crunches will build muscle but don't do much for the fat on top of it. Also, eating vegetables and fruits help.
