The first Advicenator said to take photographs of more appealing subjects but that is not necessary. If you can take a boring subject and somehow end up with an awesome photo, that is skill right there. To make a photograph more exciting, you can shoot from different angles, for example. Are you taking photography class? Try shooting in black and white first and learn all the rules of photography before breaking them. Practice makes perfect!

I like the second photograph a lot. It would be cool if there was something written on the board as well. The leaf one is cool too because the grey gravel contrasts with the colorful leaf. The leaf is interesting because it's not perfect. The eye can still move around and find something new to look at.

thank you very much=] yup, i am taking a photo class.. thats where i took the pictures. but the teacher just kind of assumes we know all about photography, so he just hands us a camera and tells us to go take pictures. so even though im in a photo class im still kind of teaching myself lol
