About chaos

It's another crazy year in my world of entropy. I am engaged now and very excited. It will be a little while before we can get married due to money constraints, but it will happen.
I like things simple. I hope to give honest and useful advice. I don't believe in giving answers just to get good feedback. 98% of all questions put in my inbox will be answered. The only ones I don't answer are those too young to be here or too obscene/disrespectful. I don't know everything, but I think I can help a lot.

I really want to change my religion, I am a Roman Catholic I just don't believe in their thoughs and such. I am not sure what I want to be. Does any oen have any past experience? Is it like a legal thing if you want to change religions; like you have to get papers? Any help or comments or info about other religions would be greatly appreiciated!

It depends on what religion you choose. For instance, I had to get a paper from my old church (which is baptist) to my new church (which is Melkite Greek Orthodox) that said when I was baptised. If I didn't have that, I would have been baptised again. Which wouldn't be a big deal, but I wouldn't want to if I didn't have to.
Try checking out the Greek Orthodox; they are little different than the Romans. Just enough that I didn't feel bad about changing.

I am taking classes in my new church to better be a part of the inner life of the Church. It will take a month or so to complete classes, but I am learning quite a bit. Before that I took classes on their version of the Creed.

The best thing to do is to go to different churches and see what their service is like. Try to talk to the pastor, deacon, or other church member about their church. Most people are more than happy to share. In the meantime, you can look here: http://www.mliles.com/melkite/index.shtml

There is nothing wrong with questioning what you believe. Sometimes you need to take the time for yourself to see what you think is right. I would suggest spending a goodly amount of time reflecting and reading the Bible before you change. I read the New Testament last Lenten season to figure out what I thought was right, and then attended services for almost a year before converting.
