About Ronlina

I have some experience with a bunch of things. Talk to me about keeping reptiles, LGBT stuff, piercings, friendships, babysitting, baking, relationships, piano playing, family problems, music, comic books, music, the ancient maya, dysfunction in general, social awkwardness, blah blah blah. So throw your questions at me. dance and sing and run among the poppy blossoms or something.

See, I think I have OCD, and it really bugs me. It's starting to interfere with alot of things. Like when I pray at night, I feel the need to repeat some lines several times, and I always have to have my TV remote facing a certain way exactly, and all this other stuff, it's really bugging me, I have talked to my parents about it before but they don't really seem to get how much it interferes with my life, because most of the stuff I do is behind their back, like rearranging stuff and whatnot...
What I want to know is do any of you have OCD and what are some of your symptoms (if you feel comfortable sharing)? And where did you go to get tested for it, if you're undergoing treatment what kind and is it helping? Thanks so much if you help, I will rate if it's good advice!
Thx
You should talk to your doctor about this next time you go, or else call him or her. Not to mention, if you have a school counceler (if you are in school), tell them about your problem. OCD requires therapy and re-adjusting your mind. If your condition is really interfearing with aspects of your life, get help.
These links seem really helpful and give lists of symptoms and otehr information for you:
http://www.mentalhealthchannel.net/ocd/symptoms.shtml
http://www.ocfoundation.org/ocf1010a.htm
There's also an online support group for people with OCD:
http://www.support4hope.com/ocd/obsessive_compulsive_disorder_symptoms.htm
Catching this while it's early is a really good step.
If no one believes you, get to know what your illnes is and list your symptoms and what you want to do about it. The fact that you realize you have a problem is great, now all you need is the help you've got to ask for.
good luck.
