Okay, so when writing a paper for english class, how do we know when to use just one of these ' rather than two of them ("). Like when you write something you would use air quotes around while speaking it, do you just use one mark (the apostrophe mark) or two (the quotation mark) around the term. Such as in The Taming Of The Shrew they talk about taming someone. Since you technically can't tame somebody, would you write tame like 'tame' or like "tame"?

ok so i live in michigan right now. but im planning to move away from this gay state when i graduate!
i live in like the middle of nowhere with places that are atleast 15 minutes away by car. and i really rather live in a place where i can walk to things like stores.
i do plan on going to a college but i dont know which one yet.
ok so what im asking is does anyone know any good city areas to live which arnt too expensive and ones that are actually getting somewhere?
like i would love to live in new york. but i heard it was realllly expensive to live there. is that true?

well first you would probably have to get into some college in new york and live in a dorm... apartments are wayyyy expensive if you want a decent one in the city. if you really love the city, then i'm sure you can find some way to live there after you graduate but chances are you're gonna wanna live in the suburbs, just because its a better place to raise a family and cheaper.. a good college in nyc would be nyu (kind of hard to get into), and a good college near nyc but in the suburbs/ cheaper would be SUNY stoneybrook. hope this helps!

okay so here goes nothing:
there is this kid who i used to be friends with (im 13/f and hes 13/m) and all of a sudden he follows me to all of my classes and like stands really close to me. and i know this sounds bad but i CANNOT stand his voice. it is whispery and lisp and just really well...you know. its so embarassing to be seen with him because he makes it seem like he likes me and i hateeeee him. what should i do???? i hate how he follows me all the time and talks to me! i always stick with my friends and just try to stay away from him but he always finds me! i know he's annoying, but you have to kind of.. let him down easy, because you're probably one of his only good friends. just be nice to him, and ifhe comes to you and your friend tell him your talking about something private. if he doesnt get the hint, tell him you need your space or something and maybe you can hang out some other time.. but you don't have to follow through. he'll eventually find new friends.

my cat walked on my keyboard and some how changed the font on my internet. its smaller, and i cant read it. how do i change it? its not the font on my computer, just on internet pages. i have Opera, if that helps.

at the top of thge interent window it should have tabs like file, edit, view, favorite etc. you go to view and then text size and make it bigger. you can also hold down the ctrl key and scroll up/down with that wheel in the middle of your mouse to change it.

so i was at the beach and I noticed that my ribs look different than everyone else's. they're more...spread apart, i dont know. Like everyone else's ribs touch each other when they poke out...mine just look like...boobs or something.

haha its normal you're just really skinny... my ribs are like that too.. if you wanna get rid of it you could try to gain weight or do crunches/situps to get more abdominal muscles.

1) your friend.. you don't have to be nice to her if she's being mean to you.. step away from her for a little while and get closer to her other friends... if she needs to talk she can come to you
2)do whatever sport you like the best.. don't be pressured by your friends if they're all on one team because chances are, if you join a different team, you'll make new friends. just do what makes you happyyy.
3)become friends with both of the boys and she what progresses faster... or just choose one and stay friends with the other.
you're only 13... relaxxx you have SO much time ahead of you :)

how do you make your facebook like private? there are people who have facebooks that when you click on them it won't take you to their profile, but then there are other people that when you click on them it goes to your profile. i want to make mine "private" (i dont know if thats what its called, but you knwo what i mean) (link)

you go to the left column of the page where it says like my profile, my friends, my groups, etc.. and there's one that says my privacy .. and then go to edit settings for profile and search once you click my privacy.

I've never really done this advice and answer thing, but I've always wanted to and really need some advice from an outsider because it feels I can never talk to anyone about my problems.. Its just me and my boyfriend have been going out for about 4 months and we are very serious. Its just that he acts very immature sometimes and hurts my feelings a lot. I cry sometimes as well. He doesn't really let me spend time with my girlfriends and I understand becuase he wants to be with me, I would probably be mad too. But its just, I really think that I love him. But he thinks of himself too much. His parents don't really like me that much either and they think we hang out too much, and I don't like them much either. But my boyfriend didn't like that I wanted to go hang out with my friends so then he threatens me all the time in going and hanging out with his old friends, so that is just what he did. He went to his ex grilfriends house and then after then went out. I do trust him and I don't really think anything went on, its just that it upset me . We had a big fight over it. But I think everythings alright. I do think he feels the same way about me, but sometimes I think he uses me to do stuff. If u know what I mean, in a sexual way. I usually get really jealous becuase he is a very popular guy and he flirts a lot and kinda talks about girls sometimes to get me jealous. But I think he's doing it on purpose. He's stupid like that. you really need to have a talk with your boyfriend. he is VERY controlling in this relationship in not letting you see your friends and you cannot let this go on. after all, your friends have been there longer than him and if you cut of all ties with them, you aren't going to have anyone if your relationship with yoru boyfriend ends. tell him that you as normal girl need to spend time with your girlfriends to be happy and continue to give postive energy to your relationship. even though he wants to spend time with you, there is such a thing as too much time.
as for his parents, you should talk to him about their feelings towards you as well... ask him to talk to them about you; so you can understand them better/ maybe see what situations around them are awkward leading you to not like them.
when your boyfriend hangs around with/goes out with his ex, you have every right to be worried about cheating. it isn't right for him to do that JUST to make you jealous. if he wants to hang around his guy friends, then fine. even a mix of guys and girls is fine.. but him and one girl alone is weird and unusual. its not like you hang around your girlfriends to make HIM jealous, so there is no reason why he should do that to you.
and the fact that you think he might be using you for sexual things also troubles me; from the way you described him. you should also confront him about this, even though it may be difficult you do not want it to bother you for the rest of your relationship. just consider what is at stake: your well-being, your girlfriends, your repuatation (he could always brag about the sexual things he's done with you)...
if he gets aggressive during ANY of these talks, i would seriously consider getting out of the relationship. it will only get more and more controlling and you will eventually become VERY unhappy with your life. personally, if i were you, i'd already be out of this relationship. you can always find another guy, but the consequences of keeping your relationship with this guy could last for years.

you don't have to tell your parents until they ask... and when they do just say you've been dating for a little while but you wanted to wait and make sure you were really an item before telling them. in the meanwhile, tell them that he's just a friend and go on group dates or meet him somewhere.
as for being shy, at first just treat him like you would any guy friend... then start being flirtacious, holding hands, cuddling etc.

Is it bad if you straighten your hair with a curling iron?
I know it seems weird, but my hair isn't that straight around my bangs and towards the bottom of my hair. If this helps, my curling iron is made of metal. It's not that good, because i've had it for a while.
so my question is if using my curling iron as a straightener is going to be ok? will it damage my hair? if so, how much? is this safe?

in a pinch, this would be okay.. but if you're going to be doing in everyday get a ceramic straightener, because metal will damage hair... it can fry your hair easier than ceramic irons and it can give your split ends. in order to recover from this damage your hair will either have to be trimmed at least every 3 weeks/or for bruning hair you'll have to wait until the hair grows out.
the best straightener out there that lasts the longest and is the best for your hair is called a chi and goes for about 200 dollars, but if you're going to be straightening every day, i would reccommend it.

There`s this kid and I'm not sure if I should tell him I like him or not. I think he MIGHT like me, at least a little, but I dont know if he'd go out with me. I also dont want to ruin the friendship if he doesnt feel the same. i would call him just to say hello, or maybe you could use some excuse like you need the homework or something. flirt with him on two different occasions, and then playfully make fun of him... but still be nice the next day. don't be too easy and call him all the time, wait for him to call you at least once after you call him before calling him back. best of luck to you!

just because your friend hasn't made you feel loved in the same way doesn't mean she doesn't love you just as much as your church friend. your best friend is probably scared to tell you these things because she is afraid of rejection, or maybe she's just not good with words and will show you in some other way. you could talk to her about how much you love her and hope that she would say something back, or just wait for things to play themselves out. but don't tell hre you're not sure if you love her anymore, thats basically giving away a loyal friend for no reason. i would definitley stay friends with both of them; two good friends are better than one! ;)

The song's story is about a man called The Patient dying, and death comes for him as a Black Parade since his most significant memory was of his father taking him to see a marching band as a child. Way says it was the hardest song for the band to create. The song consists of 167 separate tracks mixed together, including marching band drums, multiple snares ,and a horn section.
