Welcome to the Black Parade Hey there.
I'm pretty confused as to what the song
"Welcome to the Black Parade" is supposed
to represent. Someone told me its a religious
song having to do with Hell and sins.
But I'm totally lost as to what its supposed
to mean. Can anyone fill me in?

It's about a guy dying of cancer, and before he dies, his white light is ultimately the black parade. That's the last thing he sees because his memory was his father taking him to a marching band parade when he was a child.
But, the whole CD is about cancer, death & experiences.

The song's story is about a man called The Patient dying, and death comes for him as a Black Parade since his most significant memory was of his father taking him to see a marching band as a child. Way says it was the hardest song for the band to create. The song consists of 167 separate tracks mixed together, including marching band drums, multiple snares ,and a horn section.
i got this from songmeanings.net, great website. they have the lyrics to EVERYTHING. ]
The whole MCR album is about Cancer. As you noticed, there is a bald child on the cover of the CD, who is supposed to have cancer. All the songs are in some way connected to cancer patients (particularly kids) and other teenage emotions. Welcome to The Black Parade is not about religion, it's about a kid fighting cancer. When they say, "Do or Die, you'll never make me. Cuz the world will never take my heart," it represents the cancer pateient fighting against cancer, death, and other deep issues.
I love MCR too=] ]
