My aunt passed 8 months ago. Her and I just so happen to wear the same size clothing. About 4 weeks ago, my uncle brought over some of my aunt's clothes for me to go through and pick out what I would like to keep. He gave the clothes to us, so I'm not pressed for time to decide because we don't have to return them or anything like that, but my Mom has been rushing me to look through them so she can clear them out of the basement. Thing is, I don't want the clothes. It's not that they're unappealing to me. It's that it would just be too emotionally upsetting to have them. I really don't want them, and I'm firm in my decision. My mom views it as, "perfectly good clothes", and since they're free, she might be a tad bit mad if I didn't accept them. Don't get me wrong, I've very thankful for the offer. But I just don't want to look like a total jerkface to my unlce's family. *Do you think it would be rude of me to refuse the clothing?

I honestly don't think it would be rude of you to deny the clothing so long as you thorougly explained your reasoning. Tell your mother that it is not about the appeal of the clothing, rather the emotions that it will evoke. Say your getting ready for school, and all the sudden you pull on that sweater your aunt wore this past christmas...it might take a lot out of you and make you upset. Describe it in this way and remind your mom that those physical things are not what your aunt should be remembered as...explain all the real memories are in your heart where they should be.

i complain alot.. is there any way were i can stop complaining because ppl say that i complain alot

Just think twice before you're going to let negativity fill you up. What I usually do when negativity pours in to me is brush it aside, distract yourself, think of something different. Make fun of it in your head if you have to...make a cheery,light situation out of it. It's really an issue dealing with self control. Think before you speak and if you must whine, reason things in your head. Try and revise them so it doesn't come out as a complaint, but possibly a polite comment expressing your slight distress. I could go on forever explaining what to do, but I think you get the picture, not only that but this is a deal between you and your self-control.

a guy i like asked me out. he's so shy that he actually got my friend to do it. i think that's cute though. but i'm a little old fashioned and think he should make a move on me. i said yes, but today in school we went about normally like we're just friends.

i don't want to come off too strong, but i want to get him to acknowledge that we're going out. at least say it, or hold my hand or something. i think he might be a little embarassed if i went up to him and took his hand, because he's so shy.

Flirting is going to be the key ingredient to make this relationship work. Old-fashioned is fine, but you might just have to break the ice. The next time your in school, walk up behind him and hug him from behind. You can do it briefly and let go and just be like "heyy" or "hey youu" in a flirty/cheery voice. Trust me, this isn't too strong. Break the ice before it gets out of hand and massively akward! I don't think he would be embarassed, and he shouldn't be. He's not going to shake you off especially when you're going out! You can't lose in this situation. Make sure you make the effort to sit with him at lunch...put your feet on his lap or something. Here's something that would REALLY attract students. If the news doesn't all have to be at your school and the goings-on inside of it, write the latest news about celebs.

Who's married to who, who's starring in the next big horror film, e.t.c


Other ideas include seasonal recipes...like around Christmas time you might insert a recipe for gingerbread cookies, Channukah potato latkas? Stuff like that. People could also submit different recipes they gather from home.

Me and my friends have been friends for 10 years (3 boys 3 girls) and one of my friends has a crush on me, i like him to but i do not want to rewin are friendship, i like him and he likes me but my other friends think it would be a bad idea if we started dating so they do what ever they can to keep us apart, i'm to scared to go out on a date with him, just incase i screwup the friendship of 6 friendship...what should i do?:(

Well, one date will surely not ruin your friendship!! To actually date him may be a different story. Your friends advice is important, but you need to set your values before you and see what's more important. I mean, I'm not going to lie, I guess sometimes going out with someone CAN ruin a friendship...but you've been friends for TEN years. I find it really hard to believe that if your friendship hasn't ceased yet, there's not much the future will bring that will break it apart. I could be wrong, you know your situation best. Just think of how badly you want to go out with him...can you live WITHOUT going out with him? If that's the case, the feelings aren't strong enough and maybe you should just move on. But, if you do really feel like you can't live not going out with him, it must be important enough. And about going out on a date, as in, just hanging out with him...like I said...go do it. That's not going to be the thing to ruin your friendship.

I really like this guy. my friends think he likes me but i dunno. yeah he does flirt with me A LOT. but i think he flirts with everyone i'm not sure. he's really outgoing with a lot of friends and stuff. we hang out sometimes. what are some things i could say or ways to flirt with him to show him I like him without being 'easy'?

Just flirt to the most extent. The only way you could possibly portray yourself as easy would be to act like a whore...as in referring to stuff sexually and letting him violate you or something. You could really say anything. Most of all make him laugh, and laugh with him.

Think of things he might use. Try a Red Sox jersey/hat/sweatshirt. With a combination of a book and cd possibly? Mix it up so you can atleast get hime one thing he likes :)

Okay so I've been dating my boyfriend for about 3 months and I'm trying to figure out what I want to get him for Christmas. I've gone to the mall with him a few times and have seen things he wanted to get, but when I say, "Oh maybe I'll get you that for Christmas" he says, "No, I can buy that for myself" (since he has a great job). So what's a gift I could get that would set itself apart from other things? I mean, I want to get him something special but I can't think of anything that can't be bought at a mall.

hmm, well it's kind of weird that he says "he can get it for himself" b/c its like him saying he wants you to get something more expensive. You can create a scrapbook, get a bunch of cd's that specifically mean stuff to you guys, or just get him a gift certificate so you dotn double something he has.

Ok well im moving and we are finally buying a house. My parents said that we could buy 2 dogs a dog that stays small and a larger dog maybe like a retriever or something. well i get to choose what kind of small dog we want and i need some help, any ideas? also any ideas for names?

okay i have a problem =/ my friend who i am really close to asked me to homecoming the other day, and i said no. well all along i have really wanted to go with him but people at my school hate him because he dumped one of them like 2 years ago, and they are still upset with him. the thing is, i said no because i didnt want people to be mad at me since it is only the 2nd week of school. I think you did the wrong thing. Maybe the poor kid regrets what he did, but now, because of your other friends grudges, he has no date for homecoming. It's unfair to him, and it's unfair of your friends to take away a good time you might have. I think what you should really do is tell him you feel bad for turning him down and you want to go with him. It's not like your dating him, your friends have no reason to be mad. They have to accept the fact that in life everyone choses different people to be their friends with their own discernment.

Ok i broke up w/ my boyfriend like 4 days ago because he had sex w/ some other chick. Well his bestfriend and me were good friends. His best friend asked me out the next day and i said yes. I think part of the reason is just because i wanted to make my x jelous. Now i really miss my x. I think i still have feelings for him though is it to soon to be going out w/ anybody else.

Well, your in a relationship now. It's up to you, but wouldn't it make more sense to make the best of it? Because even if you still have leftover feelings for your X, it would not be a smart idea to let him know you are going to put up with his cheating. It's telling him he can do whatever he wants and get away with it. He doesn't seem like the type you want to be dating. If you really don't have feelings for the guy your dating now, I guess you can tell him why you rushed into the whole thing, and just explain the kind of relationship you would like to have with him (friends, or liking eachother but saving the dating till later, etc.). Now, your job is to plot what you would like to do, and make sure you're making decisions you won't regret.

sry I dont know the answer to the first question, but for the second, enzymes speed up cell activity to a pace a lot faster than it is naturally capable of. Without this speeding up, the cells would die because they wouldn't be doing their jobs fast enough.

I tried out for a solo in chorus but I didnt get it. And now Im really mad because I ALWAYS win at singing and get solo's. Im not used to this. Plus, a girl I HATE got it. And she always says shes better than me.. And this just PROVES it. What do i do?..

It only goes to show you that nobody's perfect. It may sound cliche, but it's true! Maybe your voice is good, just not appropriate for a particular song. There's nothing you can do about the girl who got it, I mean, come on, are you going to brainwash someone to take the part away from her? Of course not. There's not much to do...but to practice really hard for the next solo. Maybe you can ask your teacher/music instructor what to change for next time.

ok so me and this guy have liked eachother for a while no, we hung out every weekend during the summer, and during the first couple weeks at school, and he would always give me hugs, but then we started to become a little distant, and then today, he said " i dont like you anymore", but in kind of a funni way i guess..i think..but he is a joker type person, and then right after he saud that he gave me a hug...i dont know if he ment it..or what....im confused

If he hugged you...he probably didnt mean it. If you're scared of becoming distant, initiate the fact that you guys need to make plans.

I use "L'Oreal Paris: Wear Infinite" eyeliner. It's a pencil eyeliner. It works really good..like it comes out dark and doesn't hurt when I put it on. But the only problem is, I'll put it on in the morning, and then by the time I get to school it already wore off! My question is: What's a good eyeliner? This one is like $7. & people say NYC eyeliner which is $1 works REALLY good. What do you think? I need an eyeliner that's going to last all day & that's not TERRIBLY expensive..?

Benefit makes a really good eyeliner for sure. I'm pretty sure you can get it at Macy's in their makeup section or Sephora. It's not terribly expensive, true maybe a little bit more than you are paying for what you have now, but remember, you get what you pay for. It seems risky to buy a $1 eyeliner because even if it works it may not last long.

Hey guyss. Well latley I`ve been having some trouble ( friends, grades etc. ) You know, the normal middle school drama. Well I`ve been taking my anger out on random people ( like saying sarcastic remarks or insulting them) without realizing I did it until I already said it. I want to be nicer to everyone and become more outgoing. Anyone got any tips to help get me started and to remind me to be more outgoing, nicer, and friendly in the future ? Think before you speak. Do not let that first sentence go in one ear and out the other. Seriously read it over. I know it may happen to be cliche, but it means something. Plan what you say before you say it. It may take a little while before it sits in that you really need to control what your mouth lets out, but you'll get it after a while. To be outgoing-- don't be afraid to ask someone something or flirt or joke with them, as long as you plan the words so they cannot be turned back on you as rude or weird. What I mean by weird is don't say something that might freak a person out. It's okay if you have a zany side to you, but don't tell someone you stalk them...which, you probably weren't thinking of that I'm just telling you to look out for certain things. Good Luck!

Ok well me - lets say my names Jessica- and my boyfriend broke up like in the middle of july but i still really like him and one day when i was over my friends house we went online and so was my ex and I told her to ask him " How much did u like "Jessica" when yo wee going out with her?on a scale from 1-10" and he saw a 7.... and i know that a 1 means i didnt lik her a 5 is lik an 0k and a 10 is that he loves her but whats category does a 7 fall in???? I would say that a 7 would indicate the fact that yes, he liked you, maybe he liked you alot. But there was something lacking in the relationship whatever that reason may be that looks, or feelings even weren't enough. For example, maybe he thought you guys were better friends. Or maybe he thought you were pretty but let it go to your head. I'm not saying this is what he really thinks...I'm just saying there's all sorts of reasons a 7 wasn't enough to stay in the relationship.

In today’s world it’s hard to find someone who inspires you, but there are those special people out there who do inspire you. Thankfully, I have one of those people in my life. That person who inspires me is my grandmother, because she has always been caring, responsible, and faithful in her life.

My grandma is constantly caring for other people around her. Throughout the summer I’ll go to Connecticut to visit her and she’ll always let me stay with her in any case. She has set up a room for me to stay in when I visit. Recently, she moved from a five bed room house to condo. She made sure there was an extra room for me to stay in. When I go to work with her she’s constantly asking me if I’m happy and comfortable. Finally, when something important happens in my life she tries her hardest to be here for that certain event. One time she wanted to make sure she would be here, she bought her plane ticket about seven months in advance! She even drove down here because the air fare was extravagant. My grandma also tries her absolute best to visit me as frequently.

My grandma is a very responsible woman too. When I come to stay with here she’ll always be there at the gate before I even get off the plane. One time my flight was about 40-45 minutes early and she was sitting there waiting, I didn’t have to wait a minute for her to get there. In my whole life, my grandma has never once elapsed a birthday or holiday. She’ll call; send cards and/or presents for all occasions. Amazingly, my grandma has always treated me and my ten cousins equally. When Christmas is here, she’ll try her very best to keep the money spent on us equal. Spending time and showing her love with each of her ten grandchildren is extremely important to her and somehow she manages to spend an equal time with each of us.

Being faithful is an essential trait in a person’s life and my grandmother has that trait. She’ll be at church every Sunday guaranteed. Even in a foreign place, she’ll somehow manage to discover a church to attend. Anything the weather might bring that day she’ll try her hardest to attend Church. She’ll also contribute money to churches, schools, and charities. Once I asked her if she could contribute a few dollars to Relay for Life, but she ended up donating 20 dollars. She’ll always keep in touch with her friends and family, and she’ll be honest with them too. My grandma also helps plan our family reunions each summer to make sure she’ll be able to talk with all her relatives.

My grandmother carries all these traits and more. That’s why I love my grandma very much. Hopefully, one day I can resemble her, and have somebody look to me for inspiration the way I look to here for inspiration.

Hey, this is your essay, so I cannot "redo it" for you. Just out of curiosity, what grade are you? in What I can do is tell you what to change in parenthetical notation. By the way- a hint for essay writing is to not use contractions. It sounds smarter, and takes up more space =-) for example:
