What are the steps to install a dialup modem when you don't have the driver disk for the particular modem? (link)

Hi there,
The only way I would be able to answer you on this one would be if you would supply the make and model of the modem.
If you do not know that info (bare modem you got from a friend for example) then take readable photos of all the labels and markings as well as one of the front and rear surface of card and upload them to a picture hosting site such as:

What I can tell you about installing your modem without seeing it is this: If it is a software based "winmodem" then the drivers will be needed. No exceptions save for those built into WindowsXP or above. If it is a hardware modem, then drivers aren't usually required, and they practically set themselves up in XP or better.
Please get back to me as soon as you can, and I will try to get this taken care of before I leave for a few days.

Back in October, I bought a Corioliss classic pro straightener at a mall kiosk (bad idea) for $108. I remember when the girl straightened my hair I have never seen it so shiny and smooth and straight before in my life. I bought it immediately and noticed the next day it didn't do the same job as when I bought it. I know this is almost a year later, but I was wondering if it's real or fake? I've been trying to register it with some codes that I found, but I don't see anywhere on the site where I can register it. Because of this I have 2 questions:
1. Does anyone know where the registration is on the corioliss.com website? Or have I been scammed? (I prefer only answers from people who have been in the same position.)
2. Does anyone know of a straightener that does as good, if not better, job at making my hair shiny, smooth, and long like the girl in the kiosk did? (link)

I have been in the same position with different types of items over the years and there is a certain way to go about things:

Once you have done that, then you have the access to the right people to ask about a warranty claim. The iron has a 12 month warranty which according to your question isn't up yet.
One thing I have seen over and over again that may or may not apply to your straightener: People get the product home, use it, then wrap the cord around the iron which squeezes the heating surfaces together. This is how you ruin a straightener. Seems like the more expensive they are the more sensitive they are to this particular mistake.
No matter what, please contact Corioliss and ask them about an exchange. You may just get a brand new one that does what you want. :-)

In college board i spelled my last name wrong. i called collegeboard and i explained them the problem. they told me my last name would be changed in 5 to 7 days. am scared because i already have my admission ticket to take the SAT on june 5. which is this saturday. they told me to take my school I.D , am scared because i dont know if they are going to let me take the test. can someone pleasse help me out. i just want to know if they will let me take the test or wait another year. Take the name of the person who you talked with when you called and explained the situation with you when you go to the test. If there are any problems, they will be able to connect directly with that individual and take care of things right away.
If you don't know their name, call back and find out.
Also be sure to take the number you called and reached that person at.

Okay I have a 96' Blazer. I don't have any money as of right now to go get it checked. It usually runs fine, but when its really hot outside it always shuts off while i'm driving. I checked the Coolant and its full. I don't know what else could be going on. Can anyone help??? (link)

Hi there,
I can't say with any certainty that this will be your issue, but I have experienced identical symptoms when the MAP sensor or mass airflow sensor starts to go bad.
The part it spendy, and you are going to want to see if you can find one in a salvage yard before you go buy a new, or even rebuilt, one.
There are at least 100 things that can fail intermittently at temp and be just fine when cool.
Your Blazer probably even knows what is wrong with itself. I know you are short on cash, but there will usually be someplace near you that will pull the diagnostic codes off your car's computer for somewhere between free and $45.
This is worth it, and I suggest you find the money asap to get it done. Reason? Well, if it isn't an intake sensor (check the air temp sensor as well, those are really cheap) then the problem could be mechanical. If it is, and you don't tend to it right away, you will be shopping for a new car pretty quick.
So: $45 to get it checked... or a new vehicle? Seems an easy choice right? :-)
Let me know in feedback when you find out what it was, since now you have me curious.

Any job you want, you have to keep after them for. If it has been a week or two, then call or go down and talk to them.
People who show initiative are the ones who typically get the jobs. Why? Because you know they actually want it and are self motivated.
When I hired people, I never called anyone back. The people who pusued the job, and kept hounding me for it (assuming they were also qualified) were the ones to get it.
This will apply to every job you seek for the rest of your life, not just a paper route as they are called over here.

Please help! I need to email some photos to a company who are requesting the images need to be a resolution of 72 dpi and be saved at an image size of 1024 x 768 pixels, less than 1MB per

The learning curve might be too steep for a same day thing like this where you simply have to get it done and do it right now.

Ok so I was being really stupid and messing with my stereo and I decided to take it out to look for a certain cable behind it...the reason it was so stupid to do this was because I know absolutely nothing about cars or the stereo systems. So, I got it all out and I pulled it out and now it just won't go back in :( I have NO idea how to get it back in and I've been trying to fix it all day to no avail :( please help my parents are going to flip if they find out I screwed it up :/ if you need additional info to answer this, ask me and I'll edit it. Hi there,
Don't panic! The very BEST course of action here is to take the car down to a local stereo shop and have them look at it. If you don't have a full-on autosound shop, some stores do installation as well. BestBuy is one example.
The odds are, a qualified installer will see the issue in only a couple minutes and charge you very little for the repair.
Once upon a time I had my own pro audio shop, and you would just be astonished at how many people do what you just did to that poor innocent piece of car audio gear. ;-)
It usually takes under 5 minutes to sort these things out, so don't give up hope.
One more piece of advice: stop trying to fix it. The more you fiddle with it the worse it will be to put it back together. :-)

Well we have two computers in our house and my brother uses his laptop (sometimes my sister uses her mini laptop). So for the 25GB, does that count for each individual person or all together?
And I do save space on my commputer by playing the playlist on my YouTube account, but since it'll take a lot of GB, is it better to just listen to my muic on Windows Media Player?
And so if i have a huge project to do and go on the computer for 5 hours a day for a week, I could already exceed my limit, myself alone?

As for your new questions:
Yes it is split among everyone using the connection. All of you count against the 25GB limit.
Second, When you watch videos on youtube they are downloaded as you watch them. This is called streaming video. It means that you don't have to wait for the whole video to download before you can start watching.
After you are done watching it, your computer throws the video away. If you watch it again, it is downloaded again and takes up another chunk of your 25GB all over again.
As for media player: If the music you are playing is from CDs or music you have bought, which is stored on your computer, then playing it will not bother your 25GB limit.
Lastly, 25GB is a LOT of research. You could read every page on advicenators (about 700,000 pages) 3 times and still have plenty of room left on your limit so don't worry about doing projects. :-)
