Hey, I'm Mara. I love dancing. It's practically my favourite thing to do. I love House, R&B, pretty much everything with a good beat, and Benny Benassi is my hero; that's why my column is a shrine to him. I graduated this year and am now in my first year of college where I'm trying to pick a major. Chances are you'll see some of my Psychology questions floating around somewhere here. I'm also extremely interested in Political Science too because I, like half the people living in Canada, somehow want to change the world. I particularly want to find a cure for poverty, corruption, cancer, AIDS and George Bush because honestly, I think those are the biggest problems we have right now. I have decided that maybe I should take the time to live a little before I start though because I have a good fifty years ahead of me to fix all the issues there are. Currently my life consists of: studying, working, socializing, eating and ocassionaly sleeping. I spent practically all of my high school life being a delinquent and partying to huge extents until I discovered my brain sometime in the middle of my senior year. I still like to have a good time every once in a while but you always need to find that balance (I haven't exactly found it yet but I'm getting close). Unfortunatley, a habit that has stuck with me from school is my obsessive gossiping. I just can't stop and you know, an article in Cosmo says that gossipers are healthier people because they bond over it? Who would have thought? Anyway, I do have my limitations and I don't condone nasty, brutal gossiping and I don't gossip about anything my friends have told me in confidence or something about someone else that they have slipped to me, however, if I find you in a washroom at a random party making out with my bestfriends's boyfriend, a few people are probably going to hear about it. Actually, more than a few people will hear about it because one of my absolute pet peeves is parties where the all the bathrooms are occupied due to sexual activity or... puking activity. Sooooo what else is there to know about me? My favourite thing in the world is shopping and my worst fear is existantialism. I am OCDey in a clinical way so you can ask me questions about that. You can ask me practically anything you want except for dumb questions but I'm not going to answer them in my little column here because it's a huge waste of space when I could be writing about myself (Click 'LookIt' on my menubar for answers to dumb questions so you don't have to embarass yourself asking them and getting bitched out from me). What I can do, is offer you three pieces of truly inspirational advice. Firstly, never live your life by what others want of you, cherish yourself and everyone around you, and never beat yourself down about anything you couldn't have avoided. Secondly, donate at least ten percent of the income you earn in your life to someone who needs it. Lastly, never get into a bulldozer when you're under the influence and start driving it towards a poor freshmen (I am never going to another kegger ever again... ever). Ok, I'll shut up now. You can start asking me stuff, if you haven't hit the back button already.

You can't do that. YouTube doesn't let you download videos because of copyright laws.
What you can do is use the video embed link and put it into your "about me" section. The link for that should be under the video on the video page.

Ok this is kind of complicated. I am 13/f and all my friends have had 5+ boyfriends. I havent. I really like this one guy (lets call him James) and we flirt alot but hes also a close friend. I care for him so much. Well lately this month I have had about 4 guys ask me out. The problem is I DONT like them this way. My friends and other people are getting angry that im turning them all down but I feel as if if I go out with them im just lying to myself and not giving them what they deserve. They are all nice guys but I only like James. My friends are saying im being stupid and letting the chance to finnally have a boyfriend slip away. I have told them before that I wanted one but I want to share some sort of connection with the guy first. My friends all say its just a guy and I should just for the status but I dont know. Should I just forget about James and give these guys a chance? I have no idea...
Don't ever go out with someone you don't have feelings for, that's dumb and you won't be just lying to yourself, you'll be lying to the guy too.
When you turn guys down, tell them that you appreciate it but you don't want to lose their friendship and you don't feel about them that way. If your friends bug you about it, tell them that they shouldn't tell you how to feel.
And you 15, for god's sake. You have tons of time to gets boyfriends and get that "status". Do whatever you want.

i know alot of people that get drunk on the weekend. for some reason i just really want to try it. is this like bad? i mean i dont think drinking is that bad.. it's not like smoking pot or anything. and i wouldn't get so wasted that i'd endanger myself. what do you think?
At your age, it's normal to be curious about drinking. Usually teenagers drinks away from their parents and get into dangerous situations. I'm not going to tell you that drinking is evil because pretty much every one in the free world has been drinking alcohol before they were legal, instead, you should just make sure you don't drink too much and you always have a sober person there to watch out for you.

Mary (who is very thin) and Sandy (who is chunky) are coworkers. They met in the hallway of their office and
Mary told Sandy she got a parking spot right across the street. As Sandy and Mary parted company for some
reason Sandy decided to scream out to Mary “Exercise”. Later on in the day Mary decided she was curious as
to what Sandy meant so she went to confront Sandy. Sandy said she mentioned exercise because she is
concerned about her heart. However, Mary wouldn’t let it rest and decided to ask “Sandy do you think I am
thin?” As Sandy was putting stuff away in her desk drawer Sandy replied to Mary “You are average, size 8”,
paused to put the other items in the desk drawer and said “size 10.” Sandy spotted a girl not to far away and
called her in and said “What size do you take?” The girl replied “Size 6, why?” Sandy replied “Because Mary
thinks I think she is heavy.” Mary left and went back to her desk. About four co-workers saw Mary and asked
Mary what was wrong and Mary told them the story. Her co-workers said to her “Mary you are thin/skinny
and cannot be more than a size 4, and not more than 110 pounds. Then Mary said “So why did Sandy say
average and size 10 if everyone sees me as skinny/thin size 4?” They replied “Because Sandy is just jealous.”
Do you agree/concur with Mary’s friends that Sandy was just a jealous individual?

Sandy may or may not be a jealous individual but that doesn't matter right now. What is more important is that Mary is an obsessive individual.
It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. It doesn't even matter what size Mary is. In fact, it was wrong of her coworkers to say anything about Mary and it was wrong of her friends to say anything about Sandy. Everybody should just move on with life no matter how fat/thin Mary is.

Refrigerate a spoon for an hour. Put aloe vera on it and hold it up to your eyes for ten minutes at a time. It works great for me and it feels refreshing.

can you get an std from giving a guy a hj?
because i read something on a site that said that you can get hpv from skin to skin contact. please make sure you have facts before you answer because i REALLY dont wanna get an std.
You can't get an STD through skin contact unless you have broken skin on your hands. After giving a hand job, you should wash your hands and make sure you don't touch anywhere else on your body especially your nose, ears, mouth and genitals.

every so often i've been getting this hot spot on my side near my waist. it's been more frequent lately. it feel like im leaning on a stove or something, it'll just start burning and only in one spot about the size of a quarter. it only lasts for about 5 seconds but its really annoying and weird. i dont have a rash or anything, it just happens randomly. so does anyone know what this is???
I wasn't going to answer this question because I wasn't clear on whether the hot spot was on the skin or inside but I'll give you a link to check your symptoms against WebMD so you can figure out if any other symptoms sound familiar to you >

Is there a possible code to read someones messages without having their password?
Someone told me there was, and i know there is a code to read peoples hidden comments but not messages.
Does anyone know the code?
Usually all website have intensive security features to make sure you won't be able to read people's messages.
However, sometimes they have loopholes that may randomly let you access someone's account but these are pretty rare.
Is there a code? There probably is somewhere out there but you'd have to be a genius at networking to figure out how to use it.

13/f. who has ever smelt or has one i need help. www.smencils.com we got thoes there realy strong. we got like high on them. are they bad when you smell then an hour straight we got like seriously 'out of it' lost like 'woo hoo'. can barely walk. my bff has been abused with drugs so shes used to it she says thats how it feels when your high. since then my head huuuurts. is it or whats wrong.
Well, I suppose it's the same as sniffing glue except less harmful because they use "environmentally friendly fragrances". I don't think they'll killing you or anything but if they make you feel uncomfortable, you should just stop.

I'd say leave it up to him to amke the first -major- move but at the same time, you should flirt a little bit and drop hints. Not too many, you don't want to make him feel uncomfortable if he doesn't feel the same about you. Just enough to get him thinking.

13/f. wev been bffs since kp now eight years. but were like changin alot shes always been loud and a tomboy iv always been shy and a girly girl. now im loud and freaky and gothic shes a quiet preppy perk. shes popular im a freak. i always was popular but now thay just hated all my other friends and made fun of them so they wouldnt stop i just hated it. so i started just hagin out with some of my other friends. then the 'popular' ppl were falin apart and started gettin in fights but now there fine. but ive realize wat a real group was ppl who always care about you. and know about you. my old bestfriend never knows anything about me im happy now and there not. now they regret all they did to my other friends. they all want in. most of the grade pretty much hates them not my fault. now they realize how much they needed me but they act like 'part time friends' like only my friends out of school i said id still be friends but i want friends that would always admit there my friends my best friends.ive been in every group. i have more close friends. she has alot of friends but she hates half and the other half hates her is that true friendship? now she just acts. i try to be friends with all them i am but ill be nice to who is nice to me. she pretty much ignores me now. but now that she ignored me so she could get at the top of all the popular people she has no real friends, nobody. but she ignores me since i left them. i dont wana lose friend ship but i dont think it was real friend ship. im fine now. but she has no1. every1 ignored me so she followed. so i left. i stil try to be friends.

Well, it's not that you were mean, this behavior is typical of early adolescents.
You just have to realize that and move on. Don't put extra energy into helping someone who doesn't seem to want you help. Just talk to you old best friend and tell her you'll be there for her whenever you need her. After that leave her alone, she'll come crawling back someday and even if she doesn't, she'll always think of you as a good friend.
Are her friends real friends? Right now, it's hard to tell. You are all still in the process of growing up and physical and emotional changes can overwhelm anybody. Eventually, she'll figure out who her true friends are. You don't need to worry about it.
As far as your popular friends are concerned, don't go through life trying to stick labels before you make friends. Sure, be friends with them, but be friends with everyone else too. Don't single anyone out and always be nice to everybody. Your core group of friends will reveal itself in early high school and then you'll know who to stick by because right now, some of the "nerds" and going to become kings and some of the popular kids are gonna drop out of the spectrum.

First of all, you need to open the lines of communication. Your awkwardness is to be expected since your friendship had morphed into something else for a little while. You need to talk to him and clear the air about both your feelings and then eventually things will go back to normal.

Ok well i know a few 'emos' online and i see their pics, they have nice hair, i mean that as in it looks so silky and looks like it can NEVER get into knots. how do i get my hair like that? i mean if emos spend like two hours on their hair ( i really do have a friend that does that) that must mean that there is something they can use at home
Use TIGI Catwalk and Bedhead products. They're a little more expensive than drugstore products but I love them. Catwalk Camera Ready is really nice for smooth silky hair and Catwalk Fashionista is a good protector to use before heat styling hair. I use Bedhead shampoos and conditioner in Dumb Blonde and it keeps my hair colour looking really great.
Another thing you should look into is using quality styling products. Invest in a paddle brush, a good blow dryer and blow a few bills on a ceramic straightening iron (CHI and Babyliss are the best on the market). Don't be fooled by marketing ploys, a $30 iron will NEVER be as good as a $250 iron. Ask your stylist for recommendations on other hair tools.

You can find IDs anywhere. Usually you need to have some sort of contact to get you one.
And yes, you can get prosecuted but I'll tell you honestly, if you get caught trying to get into a club; nine times out of ten, they'll take it away from you. If the bouncer is having a bad day, he might give you a hard time about it. Realistically, pretty much the worst you're looking at is getting hauled down to the police station and getting a grounding from your parents and that's a slim chance in itself. I have never heard of a minor being prosecuted for -using- a fake ID, but there have been tons of people getting into trouble for making them. I'm 18 right now and about thirty percent of my friends have actual fake IDs (as opposed to borrowing IDs, using their own IDs, sneaking in or not going out at all)
Now if you're talking about forged documents to try to do something severely criminal such as using someone's identity to get a credit card or get a job, it's a totally different ballpark and one that's too messy to imagine. By doing that, you could be looking at punishment ranging from a hefty fine to a prison sentence.

Get her a calendar or a personal organizer. Something that respresents her being a "planner" that she can use every day. A calendar or organizer with a picture or moto of the sport that you guys play would be nice.

i am going to a sweet 16 in april. i know everyone is going to be dancing like they do at "clubs" but i dont know how to like dance in "clubs" i only dance when the dance is taught to me. like classes. how do people dance? what should i do? p.s my boyfriend will be there.

Actually, girls get it too. It's called "bedroom" eyes. We just don't notice it as much when other females have the look because most of us don't care.
For guys, it's another signal to tell you they're interested. Animal instinct and all that.
