Hey! My name is Lindsay. I'm seventeen, and a senior at Arcadia High School in Arizona. I'm relatively shy, but as soon as you get to know me, I think I'm fairly obnoxious. I've been part of Advicenators for a while, but I took a break, and now I'm trying to remember how I did everything. I'm still getting used to the advertisements, but that will wear off soon.


I'm extremely into music. I'm into little indie bands, as well as old school Green Day, The Beatles, and other punk and classic rock. I play the cello, and I really am starting to like classical music more and more. It really doesn't suck. You should listen sometime.


I try to give fair advice. Only a few times do I ever get responses in which the asker dosen't like what I say. I really like to read relationships stuff, which works well, because there's more Love Life and Relationships questions on here than anything else. If you have a problem, feel free to ask me a private question.

I'm 19/f and I have horrible dark undereye circles. I think it's genetic (all the women in our family have it) and I was wondering if there was any natural way to decrease the severe dark color under my eyes without using makeup to cover it? Right now I cover it up with a light foundation (haven't found any concealers to my liking) and it works well for the most part, but the circles are still visible. Any remedies, ideas, suggestions...? Thanks!

hmm. The only thing I can say is to get more sleep. Maybe they'll reduce that way. If they don't go away completely, I'm afraid the only way to hide them is to wear makeup. You might be able to get a tatoo thats the same color as your skin to cover them up...maybe. I don't know.

I have show choir auditions in about a week and I didn't make it last year because I wasn't very excited or emotional when we danced and when I did my solo. Are there any tips to help me become more lively when singing and dancing, without making a complete fool of myself? Also what are some good upbeat songs to sing? Thanks!

Well, a jazz tune will help you out a bit. There's quite a few out there. If you could find a solo for the song "Gimme that spotlight" That'd be a good one to do. My choir is singing that. Most of it depends on whether you are an alto or a soprano.

All throughout my life I've broken every set of headphones I've ever owned. I really dont know what the deal is. They always seem to lose connection on the right side. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyway, I kind of borrowed some headphones from my sister and now Ive found that I've broken those too. .. Anyone know how to fix it? I did that with one of them. All I can say is to not take apart the string that runs down the middle. I think that was what made mine go bezerk.

Hi, well my names Jen and im 15 and a freshman. In gym class i noticed this boy Matt and he went to my middle school but we never actually talked. But today in gym he said "Hey Jen!" and i dont know i was kind of happy about it. I saw him alot that day and i tried to say hi and smile alot but i know he is extremely shy and everything but he kind of smiled but looked down saying hi. Hes sort of geeky, but i dont think i really care about that but im not sure what to do? Thank you so muchhhh

Do you have feelings for him? He sounds sweet. Maybe he likes you? You should ask. I know it might be embarassing for him and you to talk about it, and maybe you'll only end up as friends, but there's always that new friendship. You might also become closer... and you could get something out of it... A romance, a friendship... who knows!

Ask your girlfriend what she thinks. The tell how you feel. That way, if she doesn't like it she'll deal with it herself. If she doesn't take action, do it your self. Tell the guys that you don't agree with it and you're her boyfriend.

A really good friend of mine is going to the movies with this guy,tomorow, and i know all there gonna do is make out and touch eachother and stuff, it happened last time. She wants me to go, and i really wanna go too, and she said "bring one of your guy friends, itl be a double date!", and i said "okay!", but the truth is..i really dont have any. None..actually. I dont know what to do, and i cant make any at school because i go to a school where theres no boys, and im really ugly so i cant really make any guy friends that want to kiss me. Then bring one of your friends thats a girl. You two can hang out during the movie while your other bud is making out. If that totally creeps you out, try talling your friend that you don't want to go.

There's this new guy at our school. We've already become really good friends and I've introduced him to some other people. But he doesn't seem to open up in public. (like on AIM we talk for hours, but at school it's just a simple "Hi") What can I do to make him feel more welcome?

Invite him into your group of friends at lunch. Maybe he'll realize that you're trying to include him. If you talk on AIM so much, why din't you ask him while talking to him. Just ask him why he's being so distant. If that arises another problem, don't hesitate to ask me a private question!

You can threaten him. No, just kidding. You can say that you'll break up with him if you find out that he is cheating on you again. If he really cares about you he won't cheat on you again because you'll break up with him if he does.

OMG, I am so frustrated right now, because I just went shopping and must have tried on over 20 pairs of jeans, and every single one of them was big in the butt. I went shopping last week, too, and still nothing. I have the smallest butt in history. I feel like I'm gonna have to walk around naked the rest of my life! What am I gonna do? Does anyone know of any stores or brands that sell their pants with smaller butt sizes? Please don't suggest Hollister, but I'm totally poor! We tried that today and they were like, $80! I've tried Vanilla Star, L.E.I., Mudd, Arizona, Paris Blues, Union Bay, and other regular brands, and I've also tried Aeropostale. Does anyone else have this problem? Where do you shop at? Sometimes I think that dancing rules my life. I take a very rigid, strict class where everything must be "just so" and I can't do anything when I want to. One day when my friend tied a friendship bracelet around my wrist, my dance teacher saw it and personally cut it off my wrist so I wouldn't wear it again. Also, when I want to try a sport like soccer or basketball, my dance teacher is the one who refuses to let me, saying that I will twist something or break something and I wouldn't be able to dance. My parents just stand around saying "Listen to what she says, dear. Listen." Now I really want to get some gentle highlights in my hair and my parents said yes at first, but they changed their minds when my dance teacher said no. What do I do?

Tell your dance teacher to F*** off. Seriously. Dump the class and get a new one. You don't have to stop dancing, you just need a teacher with a better attitude.

okay ill make this short:
this kid i was best friends with last year liked me and i liked him and so everyone knew and next year we still liked eachotehr yada yada yada he told me he wanted to ask me out but he was definately too afraid so he kept making me wait, a couple months went by when he told my friend he gives up, i was like wtf so he told everyone he didnt like me.. we stopped talking for the rest of the year, well now we just talk online and stuff and he thought i hated him which i guess i do but i still like him so much and after all he put me through ( which i didnt mention half of it) i still want to go out with him, but everyone will think im freaking insane and he doesnt know how to be a good boyfriend cuz hes like afraid of me.

well im thinking of asking him to take me to the semi, but we DO NOT talk in school cuz he makes things so awkward, so theres no way thats happening, there are plenty of oppurtunities for us to talk, where we used to, but we just cant do it theres no way

Ask him if he still likes you on AIM. If he says yes, then ask him to the semi then. AIM is an annoying thing I know. But if you don't talk at school, talk on AIM. That's my motto.

When we do our work in class, he eavesdrops and tells me and my friend to shut up because he can't concentrate...then sometimes, he looks at me and smiles and says "oh my god you guys" and then after class he WALKS with us...and he lets me push him down the stairs...kinda cruel yes...but i do it because I like him...=D does that mean he likes ME? or not...is he just being nice? And in class, we were in groups, and it was a trivia game for lots of extra credit, and I needed it..and at my table, i was facing him, vica versa...and when he saw I wanted to win...he told his team the wrong answer and then he looked at me and smiled...as my table dissed their table, I sat there smiling like an idiot at him...haha...funneh times...but like, he smiled BACK...HELP!!!

Sorry so long!
At my school, every year and the end of the school year, every class starts studying Family Life. It's basically about getting to know yourself, your family, your friends, etc. There's also a section about sex (but we never get to it.)Ever year we always learn about the same things (as stated above.) We study Family Life at the end of the day (like at 2:15) during our regular free period to do our homework. You can choose whether or not you want to take Family Life, and I'm not sure what to do. So my question is: Should I take Family Life or not take it and go to another classroom and do my homework?

The first Family Life class was today and my friend said that she was able to do her homework during the class, because the teacher didin't really do much.

*It won't affect my grade if I don't take Family Life. I'd just have to do alternate assignments.

(I'm a 13/girl in 8th grade)

I would assume "Family Life" is important. Of course, the option is given to you like sex-ed since I'm assuming you go to a public school. I would take it since it doesn't hurt your grade, and you might get some information. You never know.

A week ago today, I accidently poked myself in the eye with mascara in the morning. Since then, the bit which I poked has been red and blood shot. My Mum said it was like a bruise and would probably go soon but it's been a week now and it seems to be getting worse. What is wrong with it? What should I do?

You should go see a doctor. BIG TIME! If it's still blood shot by the time you have an appointment, you might need a prescription. Your eyes are way to valuable to lose.

im way confused right now. my 8th grade year is almost up and me and my frineds are driftin apart because of me. i really like this guy that my friend likes but we never had a problem with it. now all i do is talk to him because he likes to flrt with me a lot and so i kinda leave my friends so i can only talk to him. now there kinda driftin apert from me. i no its my falt and i feel really bad. i just really like this guy and i like the kinda attention he gives me. i dont want to not be friends with my other friends i just dont no wat to do because i cant stop flirtin with that one guy i cant do it i like the attention to much. what should i do.

Try taking a break. You don't have to stop completely, but only for long ebough to have your friends be okay with you. Once you are good friends with them again, invite them to a sleepover, and ask them if they'll mind you hanging out with the guy you like for half the time. That way the won't feel completely ignored.

Well I'm an A-cup and it's really hard for my to find good, ok-priced bras..Victoria's Secret is cool but it's too expensive! But anyway, where can I buy a bra that I can wear with tank tops...don't say strapless because they'll fall right off of me! Also, don't say walmart or target..:-\ Just tell me what kind of bra I should wear! Thanks

I go to Kohls. You could also find good bras at Victoria's Secret's Semi-Anual sale. They have it every July and January.

Well everytime i go some where like walking around my neighbor hood or driving in my car all these guys stop and look at me! its really starting to make me mad. I was walking home from school and this guy stopped and asked me my name and stuff. and just today a car full of guys stopped and asked me to come over to them its really gettin on my nerves. i dont dress slutty or any thing i just wear jeans a a big shirt or shorts and a long shirt. how do i get them to stop!

Ignore them. It's your best cover. If you ignore them, they won't get what they want, and then they'll stop.

Well.. i have 2 friends.. names Erin and Arielle.. they've been best friends since about 3rd grade and this year, me and my best friend meg have gotten really close with them. We also have another friend who is not exactly as close. Well anyways Erin asked Arielle to go to the mall with her... but Arielle said she cant. then later she called back confessing that she lied and that she didnt want to go because she was with the other girl whos not as tite (Britt). THEN even later she called erin again saying she actually wasnt just hangin out with Britt they were goin out then stayin at Britt's house... this made Erin very upset because lately her and Arielle have been drifting apart... i feel her pain, but i dont know what to do. Erin thinks this is the end of their friendship... Arielle has Taken it 2 far now.. theyve been getting into ALOT of fites lately and this is just the bigger of the many. I dont want to lose Arielle as my friend, but i'm here for Erin and i feel her pain and i also think that it was pretty low of Arielle and Britt to do that. Are we overreacting or not? What should i do to save this friendship that they've had forever?

Just because Erin doesn't like Arielle doesn't mean YOU can't like Arielle. If they fall apart, you don't have to. I'd just leave the situation alone. You can't save it now.
