A week ago today, I accidently poked myself in the eye with mascara in the morning. Since then, the bit which I poked has been red and blood shot. My Mum said it was like a bruise and would probably go soon but it's been a week now and it seems to be getting worse. What is wrong with it? What should I do?
ad0rkable answered Saturday April 23 2005, 8:17 pm: You should go see a doctor. BIG TIME! If it's still blood shot by the time you have an appointment, you might need a prescription. Your eyes are way to valuable to lose.
confusedbabii answered Saturday April 23 2005, 1:40 pm: i think that you wait a week longer, and if the bruise isn't gone by then, ask your mom to make an appointment with your eye doctor.
iWALKintoWALLS answered Friday April 22 2005, 7:20 pm: you should probably go to a doctor and see if it is infected. if you just refuse to go to the doctor see if there is any good eyedrops at your local drug store that says anything about your symtoms. but i would really try to go to a doctor, you dont want it to get real infected...i hope i helped...dont poke yourself with mascara anymore! lol...

xOtWiXi answered Friday April 22 2005, 4:14 pm: Well, I had one little bloodshot mark in my eye, I forget the cause of it, but it usually goes from tiny, big, bigger, tiny, gone. It should go away pretty soon, mine lasted for a week also and there is most likely nothing wrong with it, but you can try, like bringing a little water up to it and rinsing it out. Hope I've Helped! ♥ [ xOtWiXi's advice column | Ask xOtWiXi A Question ]
lifes_a_bitch answered Friday April 22 2005, 4:13 pm: hey. You seem to have a eye infection which is called conjuctive itis (can't spell but it's said like you spell it) It is an infection which you get from using someone elses make up or getting something in your eye that you are elertic to (once again can't spell). I get it all the time it's one of those things that get worse before they get better. Get some strong eye drops or gel from your doctor or near by pharmacy, they always help me. Hope I helped and I hope that you eye gets better and clears up. xox

cUrLyHaiReDcUtiE16 answered Friday April 22 2005, 4:03 pm: heyy .. im not reallt sure what is wrong with your eye but i know that something is because if it is getting worse and not better by a week theres something wrong you should go see an eye doctor and he/she will most likely tell you what is wrong and give you some medication you should also keep an eye on it to see what the update is with it daily so that you can tell the doctor
xbebopchrisx answered Friday April 22 2005, 3:45 pm: It’s probably not something to get all worried about, but you should defiantly go see an optometrist to have it checked out. Don't put anything like drops or medicine in it until you get it checked out. Self-medicating without a proper diagnosis is never a good idea. It’s not good advice to have you put anything in your eyes without having an optometrist check it first. Good luck! Keep me posted. [ xbebopchrisx's advice column | Ask xbebopchrisx A Question ]
Karen answered Friday April 22 2005, 3:42 pm: You need to go see a doctor because if this has gotten worse rather than better, then you can tell something's wrong. I'm not a doctor so I don't know exactly what's wrong but you really need to see a doctor and he or she will prescribe you something to help heal this. zapreth answered Friday April 22 2005, 3:38 pm: You have burst some minor blood capillaries in your eye. This is generally no big deal and will heal on its own, although it takes a long time. My sister has this happen without an accident once or twice a year. If it continues to get worse, do see a doctor, but I think you should start getting better soon. jbdreamer answered Friday April 22 2005, 3:37 pm: Your eyes are the fastest healing part of your body. Because it has been over a week, and you eye is getting worse rather than better, you should deffiently see a docotor. You most likely have an infection and will need antibiotics. Saynotogymclass answered Friday April 22 2005, 3:19 pm: It could be just a scratch on the surface of your eyes or it could be a little deeper. Don't rub it or anything. You should go to an eye doctor. I mean they are eye doctors so they would be able to help you nad maybe prescribe some eye drops. [ Saynotogymclass's advice column | Ask Saynotogymclass A Question ]
