about

Long story short, I'm from Los Angeles, went to an amazing school, left the US and moved to the Middle East. I've been backpacking around Europe and the Middle East on and off since August 2013.

Quite frankly, I'm sarcastic way more than I should be. Read a few of my answers, and you'll see that I am not totally mean to anyone.

Type correctly or go home. Yes, that is an ultimatum.

advice

if you cant sing good at all if there a way you can sing good without a teacher?

Grr. It's frustrating when people give you such incorrect advice.

EVERYONE can sing. (Well, minus mute people, and people without voiceboxes, and people who can't talk yet.)

Some people can sing well. Even if you are pitch-deaf, you can train your ear, and then your voice to sing wonderfully.

I really want to teach music, so I can help you. You need to get to a piano and learn how to use it. I hope you don't mind that I'm reusing an answer because it's silly to type something twice.

You should always have good posture. Attain this by bending over to touch your toes and rolling yourself up and your shoulders back.

Practice sightreading. If you don't know what that is, it's reading music that you've never seen before and singing it. It helps to make you sing on pitch.

Also, I suggest learning a little about music theory so that you always know what is going on in the peice. Is there a crescendo? Mezzo di voce? A ritardando at the end? What is the tempo? If you can't answer these questions, a brush-up on music theory is in order.

Here is a great website for music theory: http://cctr.umkc.edu/~bauera/Gloss.html .

Get a straw. Sit up straight, and have your feet on the floor-one slightly in front of the other. Try to do this in front of a mirror. Place the sraw in your mouth, and breathe in through the straw. Your back should widen as you breathe in, but your chest should not rise very much at all.

Say "sqeelo" (skweeloh) with an italian accent on one note and then move up and up until you hit the top of your range.

Sing, " Bumble bee-ee bumble bee-ee bumble bee-ee bumble-bee." Play this on the piano, starting on middle C, and play CE DF EG FA GB AC BD C. Play the notes similar to that pattern coming back down the scale.

Go to the higher part of your range and sing, " Ee-ooh-ee-ooh-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee," legato, full voice.

Here is a website full of tips and tricks. http://www.vocalist.org.uk/exercises.html

I highly recommend the book Singing for Dummies available at Borders and at Barnes and Noble. It comes with a CD that is really great with warm-ups, which are always good to practice.

I hope I helped, and if you have more specific questions, plese feel free to ask!

My screenname on AIM is I got a monopoly (minus the spaces), and feel free to cntact me if you don't understand anything or if you want more help. I'm trying to learn how to talk into my computer, and so maybe I can sing these for you or help you somehow that way.

Good luck.

What and where are some tips to becoming a better singer? I want to be better for the 8th grade advanced chorus and school starts soon. Please help me

Ahh! DO NOT SUCK IN YOUR STOMACH OR STICK OUT YOUR CHEST!!

Is it possible for a young alto with a really low voice to later develope into a coloratura soprano?

Yes. If you are singing correctly with good posture and breath support, it is possible. I saw lower altos become mezzos today, actually.

Get a straw. Sit up straight, and have your feet on the floor-one slightly in front of the other. Try to do this in front of a mirror. Place the sraw in your mouth, and breathe in through the straw. Your back should widen as you breathe in, but your chest should not rise very much at all.

I highky recommend the book Singing for Dummies available at Borders and at Barnes and Noble. It comes with a CD that is really great with warm-ups, and targets potential problems.

I wish you the best of luck, and please let me know if you need more warmups!

Why is it whenever Fergie preforms her song "London Brigde" she never sings the chanting chorus that goes "How come every time you come around my London.." and so on?

Not only is it technique, it's necessary for the performing world.

It's imposible to sing an entire concert correctly, (from a singer's standpoint) and so many celebrities that also dance choose to lip synch to a pre-recorded track of themselves.

I'm 14/f if that helps.

I've lost about 5lbs in 2 weeks. I'm getting happy with the results (exercising and eating correctly)

But I keep exact count of my calories everyday nowadays. I usually have about 900calories for breakfast and lunch and less than 1000 calories for dinner. But if I feel like I've ate too much during dinner and wasn't able to know how much calories I've consumed, I make myself throw up. I've done that several times. I mean I'm not aiming to be pro ana or anything. I just feel disgusted whenever I'm not able to know how much I ate. (Calorie wise and such)

Do I have a problem?

Yes. You have an eating disorder. Chat with a parental figure and also your doctor in addition to a nutritionist to find out exactly what you need to do to keep this from getting more serious.

Alrite i work at this store and i have beeen there for a year. I dont like the job at all. im currently a cashier and will be as long as im working there. My manager recently told me that she is going to be giving me a promotion to head cashier. Which is someone that can get money for the draw when needed, gets to do everything except for office work.

So applied at another place and got a call for an interview on monday. And i told my mom and she said whatever you want to do its up to you.

Today i asked her "what do i do if i get the job." Just tell my manager that im putting in my two weeks. And she flipped out on me. Shes like why do you want to leave a job where your about to get a promotion and plus youve been there for a year theres no reason to leave. I have been there for a year and the people treat me like crap. Im always on register even though everyone at the store is a cashier but i always get stuck on it. Then if they give me something to do on the floor i wstill have to watch the register. But i hardly get anything done and i get chewed out by one of the cashiers.

My mom tells me its my decision but she doesnt like my choice. and she gets pissed about it.

Any advice would be wonderful. what do you guys think i should do?

-----------
also heres another thing i may be able to do

at the job im at right now. the main days the need help is wednesdays and saturdays.

Do you think it would be a good idea to work my current job those days and if i get hired for this new job just work the other days?

im only 17 and still in high school. So i cant get more then 20 hours a week at one job.
Ill be 18 soon so my hours will go up to 35hours a week.

please help.

Well, your manager has no right to say anything to you. In fact, it could be harassment. If so, be sure to let the proper authoritites know.

I would quit the job that you've had since you aren't treated well, honestly.

If you really don't want to do that, then working both would also be a good idea.

Anyone know of a place where I can get a cheap hair straightner??????

Target, but those aren't worth your money. They screwed up my hair. Anyway, make sure it has ceramic plates and isn't ceramic coated, and that you always use a heat protecting spray before you straighten.

When you're on your period, you're supposed to be eating a lot more than you usually do, right?

Well, everyone is obviously different.

I don't eat more than I usually do.

Might I suggest coolnurse.com or beinggirl.com or gurl.com?

My brother (4years old) likes to play with the two girls next door. One is 7 and other is 5. Their parents think their kids are perfect beyond words. As in they never fight or do wrong whatsoever. My family on the other hand. we mess around with eachother like call eachother dorks and brats. typical siblings. Tonight we had a neighborhood gathering and they have a swing in their back yard. One of their girls walked in front of my brother and he ended up barely hitting her. Maybe he tapped her arm. The girls mom walked over picked her up and she acted like he broke her body. She like ill go put you on the couch and get a few ice packs while you heal. She said that and alot of the adults there were like Wow thats extreme for something so little.

The 7 year old was swinging with me and my brother and he started crying because i wouldnt push him and she said you should really be nice to your brother he doesnt deserve to be treated like that. I was like oh ohk. he called me mean and i called him a brat and shes like why are you being so rude to your brother. I was like sorryy.

That was just tonight.
Like they all like riding bikes together but when my brother is going to fast one of the kids or the mom will say lets ride and have model behavior. As in slow down.

Are we going to have to get my brother living up to there standards to even play with these girls? Or should i just let them be? Its kind of annoying when i get corrected by a 7 year old because im 17.

thank you

This actually happened to me, and I talked to the mother and explained to her that her kids were brats. Your brother should live by your house rules, whatever they are. Be sure that you stick up fr each other.

Hey i am 13/f and i am pregnant my baby is due in a week. No im not a slut or anything i would have kept my virginity until i was married but i was raped by my older sisters ex boyfriend. And I dont believe in abortion... my family is 100% supportive of this pregnancy and any decision i make. I just dont know if i wanna give him or her up for adoption. I really love the baby and i want whats best and i know that would to be with me because we have a good family and we have enough money to support the baby but i dont know if i will see the baby's dad in him or her and if it will scar me... I know its not the baby's fault. But anyway I could use support oh and baby names could help too! idk if its a boy or girl but i like names like nevaeh (nuh vey uh its heaven spelled backwards) and savannah and jayden, cayden, and skyler... anything else???

please help!!!

I think that since you and your family can support the baby, you should keep it.

Talk to your doctor aboiut the best birth method. Since you are so young, a C-Section may be a better option for you. Talk to your doctor.

I like the names Seth and Scott for boys, and Meredith, Louise, Tiffany, Marisa, and Michele for girls.

I wish you the best of luck.

Have you ever tried trilling or rolling your tongue when you are doing the rr in Spanish?
A lot of people are able too, but not I.
In easy steps, can you tell me? I know it's a hard question, but I really need to learn this year because I'm taking Spanish 1 and I wanna learn for the future!

-PLEASE....any help can helP

It's really not something you can learn to do because it's in your DNA that you can't do it.

I did Spanish and didn't use it. I used a mixed L/R sound. Like perro (dog) would be pelro. It sounds the same.

ok at night i have a very hard time going to sleep. i cant go to sleep anytime before 3:00 and i hate that because then i wake up late ( 1:00 - 2:30 ) and i feel like i wasted my day. at night i try going to sleep around 12:30 but i cant fall asleep so i either watch tv or go on the computer. now that school is starting i want to go to bed early (10:00 - 11:00 ) so i can wake up in the morning. what can i do to help me fall asleep at night?

Do omething exhausting during the day that ends at like 7:00 pm. Then, wait until your bedtime, and you'll be tired.

Set an alrm for when yuo want to wake up, and stick to it. After a day or two, your body will adjust.

On my super sweet 16 Alex A is an heirres. Of what though? Is she like, royal? or her parents really rich or what??

You didn't specify your country, and in America, we don't do the whole royal thing.

My Super Sweet Sixteen is an American-produced show, and so she is not royal. Her parents are really rich.

Last night was my last day of my sugar pill and me and my boyfriend had sex i was still on my period like a little bit. what are my chances of getting pregnant?

Just becuase you are on your period doesn't mean that you are ovulating.

Very low chances.

Ok so I started going on the pill just over two months ago. I'm on a pill called Levlen ED.

well i've heard that some pills are stronger then others and I was just wondering how strong this pill is.

I am sexually active with my boyfriend and we always use a condom during sex so what are the chances of me getting pregnant?

Also, I went on the pill to regulate my period, but it still never comes when it should... why?

Thanks!!

As for the strength of the Pill, that is something that you should discuss with your doctor. Every medicine affects people differently.

If the condom is used correctly and you take the Pill without fail, you won't get pregnant.

When you take the sugar pills is when your period should come, not when it normally does.

Hey i was wondering how do you get your myspace font to be bigger. Like when people leave me comments or anything like that they can make one work bigger and a differnet color. How do they make it a different color also? Thanks!

< font(number) > makes your font bigger. Remove the parenthesis and the spaces. When you want your font to be how it was before, just put in < / font >, again without spaces.

To change color, put in < fontcolor= (a color) > minus the parenthesis and spaces. At the end, put minus spaces.

I straighten my hair everynight; horrible I know. My hair's beyond damaged, it doesn't look bad, but I can tell when I feel it. But my hairs so wavy and frizzy, and I live down south so no matter how many products I use the humidity kills it! Therefor I constantly have to straighten my hair, what should I do?

Schwarzkopf makes a spray that you put on your hair before you straighten. It's amazing, and it has a little bit of hairspray in it, so it holds your style well!
