Ruining my hair!

Question Posted Monday August 21 2006, 9:36 pm

I straighten my hair everynight; horrible I know. My hair's beyond damaged, it doesn't look bad, but I can tell when I feel it. But my hairs so wavy and frizzy, and I live down south so no matter how many products I use the humidity kills it! Therefor I constantly have to straighten my hair, what should I do?

buy the pantene pro V classic care line

it stripes all of the build up off of your hair from straigtening it everyday.

I know how you feel. I've been straightening my hair DAILY for 5/6 years, so imagine just how damaged it is. Plus, I never used to use heat protection spray.
Make sure when you wash your hair, you use a high quality conditioner for dry damaged hair.
ALWAYS protect your hair with heat sprays/creams etc.
Once a week, use a deep nourishing hair mask. It will restore moisture to the damaged parts. Next time you're out, have a look at what products are available for your hair. Or ask a hairdresser.
As for the humidity in your area, again, I have the same problem. and I've used every product under the sun, none of which really work.
Your best bet is to just put your hair up when it starts to frizz.
More expensive ways which will work are buying a battery powered straightener, or having your hair permanently straightened, but that is VERY pricy.
I wouldn't worry too much about it though.
Every time I moan about my hair going big and starting to curl, noone really notices!

Schwarzkopf makes a spray that you put on your hair before you straighten. It's amazing, and it has a little bit of hairspray in it, so it holds your style well!

Try hair serum, garnier has one, and frizz ease has one as well. My hair is really damaged as well. I just tried dove, the one that is supposed to repair months of damage. I works pretty good on my hair. You could try that. Another shampoo that goes well with heat is thermasilk. I think i liked the dove better than thermasilk tho.

i have the same exact problem with my hair. what you should try doing to sqrunching it. idk if thats how you spell it but when you get out of the shower or when your hairs wet put gel in it and squeeze. thats what i do sometimes. or you could try a leave in conditioner. it kinda works for me. or idk if this would work for you but you could try putting hair spray in it after you strighten it. not a lot so it looks gressy just a good amount to keep it stright.

hope i helped
