Ok, people think this is in your DNA but there has never been any laboratory tests to prove it. Here's how i can explain it
1) put your toungue up to the roof of your mouth and leave it there barely touching
2) blow air through
3) this is the hard part to explain. the reason it isn't already rolling is because your holding the tip of your tongue to tight. Theres a muscle at the very top of your tongue that people who can't roll tongues hold tight without noticing. Let that muscle go while your holding air, and your tongue will flap against the roof of your mouth. Not your whole tongue, just the tip muscle. Very hard to feel if you've never done it before, and you can learn it easily when your a kid learning a new language, and most young kids learn it by doing it for fun playing around. But, english doesn't use that sound, so some people just don't learn how. It's hard, and takes about an hour to find and control that muscle.

My mother is colombian so I have her tongue, I lived in south america if you go to a place where they only talk spanish you will catch on. Maybe ask your teacher for private lessons on how to learn. Or try to ask the people that can. When I was learning how; you know like the sound a vibrator makes? Try to make your mouth make that sound. (weird i know, but it will work) You'll catch on just practice. Hope I helped!

It's really not something you can learn to do because it's in your DNA that you can't do it.

I did Spanish and didn't use it. I used a mixed L/R sound. Like perro (dog) would be pelro. It sounds the same.

Uhh it's kinda hard to explain figure it out, it's not that hard. I've been taking Spanish for four years and I picked it up the first day.

okay, heres how i do it. I put my tongue on the roof of my mouth. Dont let it stick there, pull it off gently so your tongue is hovering under the roof of your mouth. Now take deeeep breath in and breath out deeply. It should be able to trill and do that rr sound. If that doesnt work, curl your tounge more inside your mouth. Now try. sorry i cant explain it any better than that

I hope I helped!
