I do everything I am suppose to to lose weight. I eat healthy and in smaller amounts, I excerscise often and I monitor my weight on my scale. I am 14yrs old, 5ft 4in and 143 lbs.! That is so huge!!! Why doesn't anything work? Some people might just say it could be some muscle but I am so flabby and huge I look more like I weigh 200 lbs. Please help me! (link)
You are at a growing stage. You're at a stage where you gain weight as fast as you lose them.

So here goes, stick to a cardio routine and do it at least 3-4 times a week, 1 hour each time. Gradually increase speed and distance.

As for being flabby... get into some muscle toning exercises using a dumbell. A simple 4-5 lbs would be great. Do more repetitions...

If running and jogging is not your thing, try swimming... it's virtually no impact and its been known to burn calories fast.

You might get really hungry after that though. So, remember to eat healthy and stay positive.

is walking cardio or aerobic exercise? i want to lose my stomach flab because whenever i do crunches, they never work and i have been doing them for like 3 monthes and 5 times a week. so if i walk around my street and stuff for like 20 mintues.. would that help me lose that stomach fat ? if so how long will i be able to see results?

A good cardio helps keep the weight down.

Since you are accustomed to doing crunches.... Try this instead. Everytime you crunch keep your abs tucked in. Like they say, "suck it in". Be sure to not release those muscles while doing a crunch.

This helps to "activate" all your stomach muscles. And i mean all 8 of them.

This might sound really easy. Trust me, its not. But the results are great. Do it slowly and more repetitions.

Do sit ups help get rid of love handles? If it doesnt what are some good exercises? I dont have huge love handles or anything just small ones that I want to get rid of for my swim suit. thanks!!I rate 5's (link)
No my dear...

You need something to work those side abs.

Here's what you do

1. Get into the regular sit up position
2. Keep your knees together
3. Tilt your knees to the right keeping your body flat on the ground
4. Lift yourself as if doing a sit- up
5. You should be working the side of your left abs
6. Repeat, tilting your knees to the left to work your right side.

An easier way but less effective would be doing twist.... Get a disc like thingy that enables you to do twists. Get it from your local fitness locals.

You can try spending the weekend NOT having sex. If she asks for it, try declining. If she persists, you'll know the answer.

Or

During the weekend when you see her, suggest to do something else, like go for a road trip or something. If she still persists, i suggest you guys talk it out.

I think you should stop letting him do it (for now)

You may be still recovering and if so, you could be easily infected with bacteria/ germs. You wouldn't an infection to your wound.

Go to a doctor and have an examination just to be sure.

Be patient. Once you are well enough... You guys can still have a lot of fun....

I have started dating this guy a few weeks ago, and we have fun when we go out, when we hang out and everything. I just cant seem to make him want to have sex with me. Could it be:

1. He just respects you and don't want you to regret it afterwards.

2. He thinks you guys are moving too fast, having sex with the one you love is fine, but there are a lot of other things to consider.

3. He could be emotionally not ready, maybe he wants you to be sure as well.

Anyways, what is the rush? Having sex does bring couples closer together but there are other things to strengthen the bond.

When it happens, it normally starts off really light. You will be able to notice that it is becoming "moist" down south. It doesn't hurt to check if you do feel that way. Don't worry, you will know when it happens.

If you are still worried about "accidents", keep a pad/ tampon with you wherever you go. Sometimes you just never know...

Anyway, it is not necessary to wear a tampon unless you are really into sports especially if you are into running.

I threw a party last weekend and one of my good guy friends, Chad, brought a guy I didn't know. I didn't care because the party wasn't invite only.


Well anyways, Chad always asks me to hook him up with my friends and I do. He's dated like 3 of my good girl friends.


Well the other day I asked him about his friend that he brought with him and if he was single and all. I told him that I wanted him to introduce us. He automatically said no. I tried to ask why and he just said that he didn't want me to date his friends.

This happens all the time. I refer to perception. The same sentence of phrase can mean different things to different people.

There is nothing else you can do except to apologise and explain what you really meant to say.

In the future, make sure you give advice to people who trust you and whom you trust and truly want to help.

It helps and it is important to not drop hints or speaking in too general terms when giving advice.

Double check and make sure that your message is received the way you want it to be.

It's bad to take naps but sometimes I just can't focus anymore and just lay down and sleep for 2 hours about and when I wake up I feel so crappy! Thirsty, with a headache, and bad. I don't know if it has to do with not eating breakfast and eating a medium sized salad for lunch and a junk food snack at 3 when I get home from school. Could it be Diabetes? Probably not but I am not sure of anything right now. This happens a lot. (link)
There is such a thing called "power nap". It means sleeping and waking up on your own. Let your body rejuvenate on its own and you'll wake up more refreshed. If you have a time constrain, set your alarm to the latest time you can afford to wake up. The duration depends on individuals. Some power naps can be as short as 10 minutes and as long as 2 hours or more.

Personally, i have a very hectic working routine that requires a lot of thinking. When i just can't think, i power nap. Go to sleep and let my body wake up on its own. After that, ideas will just flood in.

Proper eating habits will help to maintain a good health. Irregular and unhealthy food intake can contribute to those "headaches".
Have breakfast, at least eat something. Skip lunch if you wish but have a sandwich a little later during the day.

Before you sleep, try drinking a glass of water.

If you are still worried, go for a routine medical examination. At least it'll give you a peace of mind....

Ok so here's the story:
My grandma had a stroke about 4 months ago and recently went to hospital ffor gastritis. After she had the stroke for about 2 months she had to stay in a nursing home and then she came home. Now the problem is tonight her sugar is relly high but someone went for strong insulin so it'll go down.
Now here's the deal:
My uncle wants to put her back in a nursing home but I k now my grandma wouldn't want to be there. My mum, me, my aunt and everyone else in our family and relatives don't think it's a good idea because he's the only son, got all her wealth(which is alot) and now he doesn't want to take care of her. The problem is right...he doesn't take care of her...me and my mum and the babysitter takes care of her full time. We don't do it for money and we pay the babysitter to take care of the baby and her.
I don't know if it's a good idea for her to go in a place she doesn't like and now she's catchin back her senses and I don't want her to think we neglected her cause she look care of me and the baby as well as her kids and it will b e totally wrong. But on the other hand she might get better help and iff she gets sick they will have doctors and stuff! But I'm relly puzzled because I like her alot and I don't want her to stay there long!!!! I'm relly scared and confused! I duno if my uncle will leve her there forever or iff it's just to rejuvinate her? So if you can help me to make this decision and I'm sooooo sorry it's soooo long!!!!

1. She'll feel very lonely
2. Consider that she is ageing and just want to be with her family

Besides, she IS after all the one who gave life to the family in the first place.

No matter how many challenges or limitations she might give the family, it is only fair for you guys as children and grandchildren to tend to her needs.

I'm sure your grandma will be delighted to see her grandchildren coming back from school and her children coming home from work. And having dinner together as a family.

No matter how old you are now, you should express your point in this. Have a sit down with your elders (start with your mom), and express your concerns. There is nothing wrong for them to hear from a younger member of the family.

my mom and dad seperated last year. yesterday, i was borrowing my mom's phone, then it beeped. I thought the message was for me(from my mom, she has two phones) so i opened it. then it turns out the message was for my mom. i'm pretty sure her ex-boyfriend sent her that message. but from what i know, they're only friends now. there was some sort of code and i think it meant "luv yu", at the end of the message there was "Muah". friends don't really say that to each other do they? her ex-boyfriend is now living in another country. me and mom are going to that country this year and we're meeting him there. the reason my mom and dad seperated was because of her ex-boyfriend--and he took drugs too that time(my dad).from that message, is there something going on between them? or am i being completely paranoid? oh and should i confront my mom about this? i wud really appreciate your help! tnx in advance! I know how you feel....

Divorce has never been easy on anyone. Especially when it comes to children. For this particular issue, there is a certain way to approach it.

1. Go to your mom and tell her that you unintentionally read that message.

2. Explain to her that you are concerned and feeling uncomfortable with this situation.

3. If your mom thinks you are too young to understand these things, just take it as it is. But end by saying, "If there is anything in future, i can come to you. Right?"

4. If she starts telling you the truth (whatever it may be). Don't freak out. Remember, she is a matured adult. No matter how right or wrong she may be, she is still your mom. She deserves the right of privacy. On the other hand, just be patient and learn to respect her decisions.

All relationships need COMMUNICATION. Learn to understand each other and be patient.I hope things will work out.

Determine where your problem lies... Being heavy is not really an issue nowadays. It is how you look and feel. If you are born "big" there is nothing you can do about it. This is where genetics rules.

If you are feeling a bit on the chubby-flabby side.... Start doing a full body workout to gain a leaner and toner body.

Go for a cardio workout, at least 3 times a week, 1 hr each time. If you are really in a hurry, stick to the routine or gradually increasing it to 6 days a week for a longer time. REMEMEBER to not exert yourself to much. You wouldn't want to be exhausted in the end and not enjoy.

Include a proper diet and probably cut down on the grease for the duration of the time. A burger or pizza every other week is still fine.

Enjoy your workout and stay fit....

There are several answers to this

1. He really needs the extra time to figure it out

2. He likes you but is afraid to commit

3. He doesn't like you but will still like to have you around and he does not know how to break it to you.

4. It could be a way for him in saying no.

For whatever the reasons may be, it is only fair to give him some time to think it over. Even if he is nice to you and all, you shouldn't fall any deeper than you already have. As long as he does not say anything, he has no obligation towards you.

Be patient and I hope things work out between the both of you.

There is frankly no exact answer. Losing calories depends on you weight, age and fitness level.

Based on your stats and what you've provided, i would say you are losing approx. 130-140 calories. Try increasing your speed to a more intense workout and sweat it out.

Is jumprope the way to go? I heard 5 min of it is like running 2 miles. Although, it doesn't really use the same muscles and it's good to use different ones sometimes, right? But in magazines it says to switch sets or something and I can't keep track of all that so would it be good to swim one day, jumprope the next, walk/run the other, bike, etc? (link)
Honestly there is no fast or easy way to lose weight. Even with the same routine, the results may differ from one person to the other.
Going through a fitness routine,
First, know what you want to achieve. (leaner arms, firmer abs, etc)
Second, you have to know your body well. Do this by monitoring your workout. (how you feel before/after workout, how long can you last through a routine, etc)
Finally, DON'T GIVE UP!

In any kind of fitness condition, cardio workout is highly recommended. If you experience back and knee problems, go for low impact (cross trainers, swimming- virtually no impact). This will condition your body for other workouts.3 times a week, an hour each time.

Plus, get into specific muscle toning and strengthening exercises.

You'll not only lose weight, you'll look and feel great!

i am 14 years old, i weight 115LBS and i am 5,'1 1/2"..... am i over weight or just over concerned.. i also have a big stomch like i am pragnet but i am not. how would i get that down to a little more toner?

First off, you are not overweight. Being heavy doesn't mean you can't have a nice tone body.

Do cardio exercises at least 3 times a week for an hour each time. If you are not a exercise person go for brisk walks and gradually increase your pace and change of routine to jogging. It will help tone up your whole body and loose some weight as well.

Sit-ups are recommended if you want to have flat abs.

However, it is easier to do and stick to the abs routine after you have lost some weight conditioned your muscles through the cardio routine.

Take it one step at a time and results will show.
