No my dear...
You need something to work those side abs.
Here's what you do
1. Get into the regular sit up position
2. Keep your knees together
3. Tilt your knees to the right keeping your body flat on the ground
4. Lift yourself as if doing a sit- up
5. You should be working the side of your left abs
6. Repeat, tilting your knees to the left to work your right side.
An easier way but less effective would be doing twist.... Get a disc like thingy that enables you to do twists. Get it from your local fitness locals.
Hope this helps ]
Ok, sit ups are not good at all. They wont do anything except put agony on your back and neck. CRUNCHES is what will do the trick for your abs. Crunches are when you dont go up all the way to your knees. To get rid of love handles you can eat healthily, excercise (as in TONS of cardio), and running. Running is the best thing to get rid of those 'handles'. OH and water. Water helps get rid of excess body fat and "flushes" it out of your system. So get water and lots of it!! Hope this helps

There are no exercises that get rid of love handles. You cannot target the removal of fat from any area of the body through exercise. You can target the building of muscle onto an area, but thats it.
Fat targetting is a myth, a very widespread myth on advicenators, and I think its kept alive by those infomercials that want to sell you their latest gadget (note though, they never exactly say that it will remove the fat, they only hint at it... otherwise they would probably be sued).
So, you can either lose weight (diet, exercise in general... the usual stuff) and then sooner or later your body will remove your love handles, or you can choose not to.
Sorry but its the truth, no need to spend the next year trying to do all sorts of useless stuff. ]
