I spent 350 dollars on a 1989 Isuzu Amigo. it had a leaky exhaust manifold and i replaced that for about a hundred dollars i had an excellent running car for under five hundred dollars

Ok i wan to hook a car radio up in my bedroom so i can get amp on my subs and stuff. so how would i do that and is there a webdite i can use? or tell me specifict details. (link)
|
you would be much better off putting in a household stereo. home theatre systems often come with all kinds of amps and subs

What does water leaks mean in car? Is it bad? (link)
|
depends on where its leaking. it means you have a coolant leak somewhere in your car. do you notice dripping or elevated engine temperatures. its probably a rubber hose that is cracked but it could be a lot of things including a leaky water pump

in california
if you have your permit can you drive alone to school ?

|
california requires you to drive with someone 25 or older
|
how can i get the serivce engine light to go on in the console with out braking anything (link)
|
not sure why you would want it to go on but if you disconnect the Mass Air Flow sensor located between the airfliter and the throttle body you should throw a code to cause that light to come on
|
can someone do me a favor and find a picture or picturesSss of a car with legal window tint so i can see exactly what it looks like...
LeGAL window tint!
:) thanksssssssssss (link)
|
i know in california you just cant tint the front three windows that would be windshield driver and passenger windows. everything else can be tinted however you like as long as its not reflective or something like that
|
can someone show me a website or something where i can see what factory tint looks like on a car?
Thank you Very much =] !! (link)
|
you can get different levels of tint from the factory. everything from like a 25% light tint or what they often call privacy glass which is 5%.

i have a 1997 z/28 ls1 camaro. i want to put a cold air intake in it,do i need anything? or is it just a bolt on performance upgrade? (link)
|
you shouldn't already have a cold air intake if you haven't done anything with the motor yes it takes about ten minutes and K&N makes whole kits for your particular vehicle. Just check with local regulations. i know in california you have to have all smog legal stuff. I fabricated my own cold air intake for my jeep and it wouldn't pass the visual on the engine cuz it wasn't smog legal so i had to put the stock one back in

so say i needed to borrow my boyfriends car. he has state farm car insurance that is under both his parents name. say i borrowed his car and i got pulled over.. would i get in trouble because my name is not on the insurance? or does it not matter because the car is still insured? (link)
|
it depends on the insurance company however i would be more worried about not being covered if you got into an accident rather than if you get pulled over. in california its a fix it ticket to not be driving with proof of insurance. can be a hefty fine if you really dont have it but no where near as much as an accident would cost you. minor fender benders can cost at minimum 2,000 and if anyone is injured you could be looking at 25,000
|
I want to get my boyfriend a Valentine 1 radar detector, but I don't know if it's worth the money. Do they actually pay for a speeding ticket if you get one? and how reliable is it? I want to hear from people who have experience with this detector, not a website explaining how it works. The only websites I would actually take time going to are ones that have reviews on them. So, help? (link)
|
Unfortunately a lot of police and highway patrol forces are moving to a temporary radar beam and LIDAR. your radar detector will not track LIDAR and with the temporary radar beam either the cop got someone else or its too late. If it goes off and the cop was checking you. Its too late

I was riding on my motorbike, when a school bus driver hit me and threw me over. While I stood up to move the bike he told he will wait for me in the stop light to exchange identities, insurance companies license plates etc. Only he didn t stop, he ran away.
School bus driver knocks a motorbike down, while children are inside the bus and runs away.
Luckily, I got his license plates and I know who he is. I informed my insurance company, his insurance company, the police I ll get my bike fixed and I ll sue his ass.
How? Why? And what can I ask for? (link)
|
without injuries or lost time at work these cases are hard to win. his insurance will pay for the bike and if the bike was totalled you may get some out of suing him so that you can replace the bike but typically money won in these cases is for injuries, pain and suffering or lost time at work
|
OKay, my mother just bought a car and is paying insurence for it. I have my G2 but do not pay any insurence. If I would like to drive her car or my boyfriends parents car will I get in trouble for not having my own insurence even though the car itself is insured? (link)
|
This depends. different states have different laws

I've always wanted to own a Jeep Wrangler. However, I've been warned that they are expensive to maintain and require frequent work. Furthermore, I'm not able to afford a new one, and so I'm worried about buying a Jeep that might have been damaged off-road.
Are there any Jeep owners out there who can give me some ideas on what I would be getting into if I bought a Jeep? I'm not planning on doing any off-roading myself; I just like Jeeps. I'm mostly concerned about:
(1) How expensive is it to maintain?
(2) Would you recommend hard or soft top?
(3) Is there a significant danger of getting an abused vehicle? I would have it checked by a mechanic, but I wouldn't want to have to do that too many different vehicles - it would get expensive. So, how likely am I to find that the Jeeps I look at are trashed?
(4) What kind of gas mileage does one get on the highway?
(5) Are there chronic problems that anyone has observed with a particular model or year?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
(link)
|
Jeeps are built to be trail ready. with that said. sturdier parts will last longer but are more expensive to replace, hard or soft top is up to you. if your going to be taking the top off a soft top will make that easier, If the jeep looks clean(and i dont mean not dirty) but no body damage or leaks you should be good. I am an avid offroader/4-wheeler. Ive seen the abuse that jeeps can take. gas mileage is going to depend on the engine you get if you get the jeep 4.0 L inline six(most common) you can expect 19MPG if it has the 4 cylander you will expect a better mileage.

I had changed my fuel filter in my 99 accura legand, and after I had done so, it doesnt go into reverse, or it doesnt shift gears. I was wondering if perhaps there may be a vaccume problem there or something of that sort? (link)
|
to change what was said below that is the clutch master cylander. the slave cylander is typically located close to the transmission under the vehicle

14/f.
My boyfriend is 16/m.
Ok; my boyfriend and I have talked it over, and we are ready to have sex. I don't want to go into too many details, because that's not what this question is asking. I was wondering what pre-cautions we could take to not get me pregnate.[sp?] Like, if he gets off, should we change the condom? It's both our first time and I am very nervous. He dosen't seem to be, but I was just wondering.
p.s. Birth control isn't an option. (link)
|
I would definately replace the condom if your still going to be going at it after he ejaculates. However my advice to you is to go to your local drugstore and pick up the morning after pill. I know in California its a legal Over the Counter drug and it has an incredible success rate. Use of the morning after pill is probably about 98-99% effective but the condom is definately advised
I apologize i was on my way to work when i answered this question which i answered entirely to hastily. I was not suggesting The morning after pill as a regular use thing. Nor was i suggesting to not use a condom. I was suggesting that it is a good thing to have if something goes wrong ie condom breaks. slips off. I believe that the only true form of birth control is abstinance but im sure thats not what you want to hear right now. Use of a condom and hormonal birth control is your best bet. clinics such as plannedparenthood can help you with that without letting your parents know. Once again i would like to apologize for my hasty answer that was not well written and definatlely did not portray the point i was trying to make

Hallo, untill one day ago I was a 100% positive about bying a Buell Ulysses, till I sat on the bike and saw how tall it is. I am not a basketball player and the bike is really really huge. So what other options do I have?
I need a fast bike that is nice to ride for a long long journey , and the end take it just a little bit of road to see what happens. Also for everyday use. I dont like the BMW 1200GS that much, and I am thinking about a KTM 990, although I do not really like their design. What about the Honda Varadero or the Suzuki V Strom? (link)
|
if you want a good bike thats fast and still able to ride for everyday use get a Yamaha R1 (1000cc) or the R6(600cc) if its your first bike id get the R6. wouldnt go above 600cc's for the first bike

Hey... My parents just bought me a 2006 Jeep Liberty, 3.7 liter V6. I have been searching Jeep forums and reading a ton! I can't figure why i cant spin out the back tires (Yes its Rear wheel Drive..) I'm wondering if it has a governor chip or something to do with the computer system in the truck... PLEASE HELP ME!! (link)
|
you have a limited slip differential and a car that is made to handle itself on a trail not burn out in your high school parking lot. however if damage to yourself and the vehicle are not a problem for you there is one way. crank it. turn out of a parking lot and mash on the gas. that will typically break any tire free. its dumb cuz your losing control. but if thats a risk your willing to take then go for it. for anyone who tells you that the high torque and low top speed is the reason. they are wrong. that low end torque is what you need to break the tires free. especially with a heavy vehicle. you also have an entire computer system thats sole purpose is to prevent you from losing traction. so good luck to you and dont hurt yourself

It is a competition car. We use 20L fuel cell, in line Bosch fuel pump and Sard fuel pressure regulator. Starting the car in cold and warm is fine. Idle is stable but when accelarating the fuel pressure flactuates downwards causing the engine going lean. I changed the pump, the fuel pressure regulator, the pump relay, the fuel filter, I checked for voltage drop, i checked for fuel tank saction, i checked the injectors, I checked for pump overheating. All these are ok but the problem still exists. Any ideas? (link)

there might be an automatic choke. i dont know for sure. but it sounds like that may be another thing to look into

Does anyone know how egg affects a car's paint job? My car was egged about a week ago and when it happened, I only noticed it on the right side so I cleaned it and everything. But today I noticed it was on the back of my car as well.
When I cleaned all the week old egg off (which took forever and a day), I noticed that the paint under the egg/shells was cracked and pealing. I was soooo pissed off. But, can egg really do that? I KNOWWW the paint wasn't like that before.
Sorry for any typos, I'm in a hurry. (link)
|
you can get paint redone for pretty cheap. just remember the less you pay the less time their gonna spend on your car. so if you want the job done right it would be best for you to sand and prime the area you want done and then remove or tape over any badges you have and your lights. or depending on the car and how old it is and how old the paint job is you could sand the whole thing and spray paint it yourself with a gloss spray paint. Rustoleom Gloss White worked great for me
