I am almost positive that one of my professors is changing our answers on tests so that we get better grades. Let me start from the beginning....
After the class took the midterm exam, I was looking over my answers and I noticed that some of the writing was kind of funny. I thought, geez I must have been really tired when I took this test, and I let it go. Then, some of the other people in the class started whispering about it. Apparently someone had changed some of our answers to the correct answers before the tests had been graded! We all assumed that a student aid or graduate student had done it.
What's the problem then you might ask. I got a better grade so I shouldn't complain, right? Well, I try my best to be a good person and the fact that that had happened made me feel sooo guilty. It stressed me out to no end. I don't need to get a great grade in the class. With the corrections my score had been boosed from about a 70 to a 90. I didn't need the extra points. All I have to do is pass the course.
I didn't want to be the tattle tale and ruin everyone's day by possibly making the entire class take the midterm over again, but I couldn't deal with the dishonesty I was feeling. Later in that day I went to talk to the professor about what had happened. I liked her and I thought that telling her was the right thing to do. She seemed very understanding and told me to just keep working hard and that she would take care of it. I felt so good after I did it and knew that it had been the right choice. Well, nothing was done about it and I began to wonder.
We took another test and when I was handed my test back I got a "Great job!". When I noticed that the same thing had happened I almost cried. Nobody else in the class seems to mind, but it is tearing me apart. Now everyone is almost positive that it is the professor that is doing it. It's almost the end of the semester and I worry now that we'll all have to take the whole course over again. I can't afford to do that! I have just enough time to fit all the classes in that I need to graduate.
I think I know the reason why she does it (if she does). She isn't allowed to make her own tests or assignments for us. It has to be the same for everyone that is taking the class. The head of her department makes everything and she is often confused on what to teach us and what to tell us to study. I think that this is terrible and that a professor should be able to teach the way they want. Boosting our grades like she does (or allowing it to happen) is her way of giving us a curve.
It makes sense and it seems like a good thing, but if it's supposed to be the same for everyone taking the class, then my class is getting a very unfair advantage! Yeah, there needs to be some change, but it should be done in an honest way! There are so many better ways to have handled that. I believe that the professor is retiring after this semester so I don't think it would affect much in her life if she was found out.
Should I tell? I think I probably will anyway. I don't want to have to live with this for the rest of my life. If I do, who should I go through? The head of the department or someone higher in the college? She doesn't let us keep the tests and I have a feeling that if she were being investigaed for this that they would mysteriously go missing. With no proof, can anything really be done?
I give a lot of advice, but now I need some myself. I have no idea how I would answer this question if it were asked by someone else. Am I doing the right thing? I doubt anyone has gone through something similar to this and can offer an experience based answer. I shouldn't have to deal with this, I'm a student! I should be the one that's cheating if anybody! HELP!!

I don't really know what to tell you, I think it is very good of you to feel bad about getting a free pass, but if you tell on the professor, she might lose her pension. If I were you I wouldn't tell just because I couldn't hurt someone by taking away their pension. Hope for the best!

17/f - My boyfriend (15 yrs old.) broke up with me a few days ago because he said he didn't want to be in a relationship right now because a few months ago he got out of a 2 yr relationship with a girl he loved that cheated on him with his cousin and bestfriend. We didn't go out that long but I ended having strong feelings for him. He wanted to be friends but it bothered me too much. I think he only wanted sex and I'm still a virgin and I don't want to have sex yet. Anyways, I was on the phone with him yesterday and he was kidding around alot about having sex with me and being friends with benefits (which I seriously DON'T want). I got really pissed off and hung up. So he called back and told me he wouldn't kid around with me anymore and then he told me he wanted to be honest with me and tell me something and said he had sex with this girl on my bus twice! Once, the week before me and him started to go out and wednesday (2 days after he broke up with me)! I was crying and my friend that was over asked if she could talk to him and she did. When she got off the phone we talked about him and everything. She went through almost the same stuff I had to go through and told me I should stop talking to him and maybe be friends with him later when I was ready. I know it's a good choice and I called him and told him I didn't want to be friends right now and he said ok and we hung up. I'm just so heartbroken and a part of me wants him and a part wants me to forget him and move on. I'm also thinking he might have cheated on me while we were going out but I don't want to find out even he did. My questions are: Do you think it's a good thing I stopped talking to him for now? Should I move on? Or be friends with him? How can I make things easier for me not to get jealous seeing him with other girls and help me move on? Also, the girl he had sex with has A BOYFRIEND!! Don't you think it's wrong since he had to deal with his exgirlfriend cheating on him so why would he let that happen to another guy?! I have this friend...lets call the friend C. C is one of my bestest friends. C's so fun and lively and gosh, you can't tell that theres anything bad going on in C's life. C's one of the two friends that I have that are always cheerful and happy. Well, yesterday when we were being idiots and dancing in the hallways b/w class(don't ask) I saw that C cut itself on the top of C's hand and was concealing it with C's sleeves. I can understand why since C hates C's little brother, C's mom and dad are divorced, C's not all that rich, and C hates his stepdad. The thing is that I cut too... and do not lecture me on that fact. I haven't told ANYONE at my school that I cut and I want to keep it that way. I want C to stop and not cut though. I know it sounds weird and hypocritical but I wnat C to stop. I know it's a dangerous thing to do and can turn fatal at any given time. That's why I wnat C to stop. Isn't it weird that while I do the same thing I don't want C to do it? What is wrong with me for thinking that way? Why am I thinking that way? What are things I can do or say to stop C from cutting? If I try to talk about it, he ignores me and stops the conversation say he doesn't want to talk about it.
Okay, I know you want to keep your sercet but if you really want to help C you have to tell them. Tell C that you will stop if they do. Let them know that you are there for them. Everytime they cut themselves makew sure they tell you, then cut yourself. When you cut yourself let them know, that way if you hurt yourself, you are hurting them also, trust me this works. Im getting contacts in a couple days (monday) and i was just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about them. IS it hard to put them in? Can they actually like slip down in your eye where you cant get them out? how long can you wear them? What will I have to do when i go to get them? Any tips or anything would be greatly appreciated. Okay, there is nothing to worry about, You will get the hang of putting them in sooner or later. The only way they can slip back behind your eye is if you rub them really really hard, but most times you can just blink for a while and they will go back into place. You are only susposed to wear them during the day,and take them out every night. Trust me I have contacts, they aren't bad. if they start to burn when you put them in take them out and add some solution then try again. Always make sure your contact isn't inside out. Ok, so I got my first period in April of this year, and it was regular for April and May (I start on the 9th). But in June I didn't start untill around the 20th and it was very irregualr.
