Hey everybody. I've love giving advice so I'll answer every question I can. If you need any advice on anything, just ask me! A little about me- I play tennis and I love to shop and hang out at my pool with friends. I'll be a sophomore in high school this year so I've had plenty of experience on friendship and relationships. I always try to take my time and answer every question thoughtfully. I don't care about ratings or any of that, I just want to help people out. :-)

Hi, I'm in the 10th grade and I am interested in playing tennis, can you give me some pointers, like what I need to do to prepare for the try-outs, what are some excercies I need to do? Please help as soon as possible.

I'm so glad you asked! I've been through a few tryouts so I know what coaches are looking for. The first 3 things you need to have are Motivation, Attitude and Commitment to Tennis. (My coach calls it MAC T) Coaches are not impressed by girls that are just playing for the heck of it. Show that you are really interested by trying your best at everyday of tryouts. You need to get out and start practicing asap. Get a friend to go play with you and spend an hour or so playing. Work on your serve, backhand and forehand. Getting lessons would be a huge help too if you have them available. Also, go talk to the coach if you can before practice starts. Let him/her know that you are really interested in tennis, and ask what you should be working on. Basically you just have to be a good tennis player, and the only way to get there is to practice. So get out there and practice as much as possible! Good luck! Tennis is an awesome sport :-)

I don't know I guess it would look alright but you are already really pretty as it is. You have a really unique look but I think a lip ring might look kinda trashy. That's just my opinion though.

I play tennis, and lately I've been trying to get down the top-spin so that I can be more effective. I've got it down really well for my backhand, but I can't seem to do it that weel for my forehand.


Does anyone have any tips or advice for how I can become better at a forehand top-spin? Thanks.

First off, I play tennis too so I love answering questions like this! I can tell you're an advanced player because beginners don't even think about the spin on the ball. Basically the way to put topspin on a ball is a low to high sweep of your hand. Imagine rolling a ball across the floor with your hand in a forward motion. That motion is the same as the one you want to do with your racquet. You want to brush up on the ball to get a lot of topspin. Good luck, I hope this helps!

That's pretty good. I play tennis and my mile is about 8:30. So yeah you should be pretty proud of yourself! The average teenage girl (which I'm guessing you are) has about an 11 minutes mile. So you're way above average! :-)

i am 15 and going to be a sophmore at my highschool. and i guess me and robbie had a crush on eachother in 5th grade and we went out in 6th grade and 7th but on and off ( you now how those middle school relationships are, dont mean anything) but i guess its funny because we even talked in middle school after elementary and he IMed me the other for the first time since like 8th grade.. but we have been talking online the last couple of weeks and lastnight he asked me to hangout sometime next week. we will probably end up going to see a movie or sumthing but honestly ive never really been on a date. ive had serious relationships but i mean we didnt go on dates first, i dont know how to explain it. so i need some ideas on where to go, what i could wear, and some stuff to talk about. thanks alottt

The movies would be fun, but you also have to consider that it'll be 2 hours of not talking to each other- probably filled with awkward silence. I think the best idea for a date is going out to dinner. If neither one of you have a license you could just have your parents or an older friend drop you guys off at a fun restaurant. For what to wear, just make sure you feel cute. I'd recommend on jeans and high heels with a pretty top. But it also depends on your style. You guys can talk about anything, just talk to him like you would with your friends. But make sure you try not to dwell on the past. Sitting around talking about your previous relationships with him will get boring. Just be sure to have fun!

Hey! I am a girl, and a sophmore!

I am taking Geometry this year! today was my frist day, and my Geo. teacher has different teaching styles, and I am finding it very difficult to learn. He is really into using logic, and I am totally a streat smart person.
Do you have any tips or sugestions to help with this? is there anything that I can do with my notes or anything to help?

I took Geometry last year as a freshman and it wasn't too bad. I actually kinda liked it. The main tip I can give you is MEMORIZE FORMULAS! It's the most important part of Geometry. As long as you know all the formulas and theorums, you should be just fine. Good luck!

Ok i'm ahving a swimming party for my b-day and i might invite some guys and i kinda ahve a pooch and the guy i like might coem and i was wondering how i get a flat stomcah in about 1-2 weeks.i have volleyball practice in the mornings at 6 30 so we run there and when i get home i'm really tired so no like real powerful stuff.i rate high

Honestly the best thing to do is crunches. Try to start with like 200 a day. (You can spread them out an do like 50-100 at a time.) Then eventually work up to doing like 1000 a day. That's what I do and my stomach's gotten pretty flat this summer.

On Sunday I'm going to the beach wwith my family and another family who has a 14 year old son. He's a year older than me and he's cute!!! I have these one pieces that i look good in, but i also have some bikinis. The problem with my bikinis is my nipples show through the fabric!!! Yuck!! Should i wear the bikini anyway or go with a one piece?

Definitely go with the one piece since it looks cute on you. If you wear the bikini you'll be self-concious about it the whole time and you won't have any fun!

i know im 13 but ive been held back and now im starting middle skool. im really nervous. wut if the other kids dont like me, or if i dont fit in. wut if i get my classes mixed up and everyone makes fun of me? all u guys are in middle skool so PLEASE HELP!!!

Well I'm in high school but I was pretty nervous when I started middle school too. First, make sure you get a tour of the school before the first day so you know where all your classes are. Plus teachers are pretty lenient for the first few days of school. They know you're just getting used to it and it's hard to get to your classes on time at first. Don't worry about people not liking you. Just be really friendly and smile whenever you meet new people. You'll make friends really fast. Have a great school year!

hi...i'm 14 and i'm going to be a freshman this yr...so i used to go to public schools 2nd gr. and under, then inn 3rd gr.-8th i was in public school, but this year and all thru high school i'm going back to my old public school...does any1 have tips on how to meet new friends...I also wld love to be on Homecoming Court (sort of a popularity contest...)and my Freshman homeroom class is supposed to vote on who gets to be in it...how do I get these ppl to vote for me?

Focus more on being a nice person than being popular. If you're only nice to people because you want them to vote for you, they're going to see right through that fakeness. Just remember to always be friendly and smile a lot. If you are a nice person you'll make friends really easily. Don't worry so much about Homecoming Court. Although it would be nice to be on it, it's nicer to have a few great friends who care about you. Also, never ask people to vote for you. If you want to be on it, you should be on it because people truly like you, not because you pressured them into voting for you. If you are great person that people like, chances are you'll get lots of votes anyway. But like I said, don't stress over it. :-)

I know girls will judge another girl on their clothing, but do guys care if your not wearing abercrombie or hollister? (I know I sound very shallow thinking all guys judge on stupid things but its been bothering me) It just doesnt seem right that guys dont need to wear amercrombie but girls seem almost required to or they're pushed out. Another question, do guys prefer strait hair over curly? thanks in advance, I'll rate for anyone who can give me a decent answer.

Honestly, every guy is different. Just like some girls prefer preppy guys, and some girls prefer the punk look on guys, every guy has a different taste. Sure, a lot of guys are attracted to girls with silky straight hair that are covered in A+F, but there are also lots of guys out there who don't care about stuff. So it's just about finding the one who's interested in you and doesn't care about style. :-)

I am really upset right now. Let me flashback:
"Kaley" and I went to the same school two years ago, and I was there since I was in first grade. She just started school there that year, so I wanted to be nice and talk to her. It turned out, we had a lot in common and by the end of the year, we were bestfriends. I went over her house a few times and we always had a blast. Then at when school ended for the summer, she was going to a different school and I was also going to a different one.
Last year, we promised eachother we would still keep in touch, which I TRIED to do but she obviously wasn't interested anymore in being there for me. Now a new year is starting again with school and everything, and she sent me an email with her AIM. She told me NOT to ever call her though because she's always "busy". Now, she was online a few seconds ago and her away message said "hey, I'm around the house. Lindsey, call me!" And then when I was on for only a few seconds, she signed off. well, my name isn't lindsey and that made me upset. I'm so upset now... how can I deal with this?

It sucks when someone you care about isn't interested in being your friend anymore. She may have been a great friend before, but she's obviously moved on. If she said to never call her, that's definite sign that she doesn't really want much of a friendship, even if you talk to her on AIM. So if she want's to forget about you, you should forget about her too. A new school year is the perfect opportunity to make new friends, and that's what you need to do. If you are a shy person, try joining a club or getting involved in a sport. That's a definite way to make friends. Just be sure to be friendly and smile whenever you meet new people. Sounds to me like you need to find some better friends. Maybe sex is a good thing, but for a 13 year old? Sorry to say, but no, it's not. These people have absolutely no self-worth by giving themselves away at such a young age. Hanging out with them is only going to lead to even more bad stuff. I'm glad you are concerned about this, but you should get out of it before you're in too deep. It's ok for a 13 year old to like boys, but to be interested in sex is definitely not right. Even a condom isn't 100% effective, so how would you like to be pregnant at 13? All that responsibility is a bit much for someone who's still a kid herself. Plus you have all those STDs to worry about. So if I were you, I'd starting hanging out with a new group of people. Look for people who have similar interests (that don't include sex!) Trust me, you'll be much happier and you won't feel so pressured. I really hope this helps you, if you need anymore advice just ask.

Hey i was wondering if any of you know a all around really good shampoo and conditioner.. i use brilliant brunette right now but i was wondering if theres like a better one maybe pantene the brunette expressions or garnier fructice or what... my hair is wavy i can curl or straighten it so yeah thanks! im looking for one to make it shiny and healthy and makes it just look good! 15 f

I wouldn't advise you to get Brunette Expressions because Pantene just copied John Frieda and made the products for each hair color like he did. (Sheer Blonde, Brilliant Brunette, Radiant Red) If you aren't happy with your hair just try different products. Biolage is really good, it makes your hair super soft. So try that, but experiment with other stuff too. :-)

Hey. Well, i just bought my hair straightener yesterday at JCPenny's it was $130. And i haven't used it yet but someone told me that u have to buy like some gresse or some oil to put on after or before doing it. Is that true.or can u just do it like that without putting anything. And if true can yall tell me what to buy, and were to get it from. Thanksss.

OMG I just bought that same hair straightener today! Is it the CHI one? They told me I was supposed to put something on my hair and I bought this smoothing system stuff, but I didn't even use it and it turned out great. I love the straightener though, it's awesome. :-)

my friends mother is an alchoholic .. she tells me everything ! she asks me what she should do when her mom is drunk i dont know what to say to her though nd i tell her i dont know. she always says shes sick of her mom. i dont know what advice to give her. i need some advice to give her.

I really don't have much experience with alcoholics, but I know it's a serious problem. I definitely think you should tell your friend to find an AA program for her mom. She should try to talking to other adults in her family (grandma's, aunts, etc.) All you can do is offer her support and hope her mom gets help.

i am a girl and my brother is 2 years younger and we always get in fights. ALWAYS. its getting annoying now cause we fight about EVERYTHING. we also in general annoy eachother like if we are in the car and he pinches me so i will hit him. and yeah we like REALLY HURT eachother. so i want this to stop... please try to help and if you do i will rate you a 5!!

I think the best think for you to do right now is just shut him out for a little while. If you says something mean to you, look away and don't say anything back. (As hard as it may be!) Also, if he pinches or hits you first, don't do anything to him. If neccessary, go get your mom or dad so they can discipline him. Eventually he'll realize that fighting isn't going to get him anywhere with you.

Okay every year i get clothes from the mall picking things from like JC pennys and Macys and some from Aero but my mall doesnt have alotta fine clothes. This year i wanna be on top with the new teen fashions. So heres my (2) questions Is finding clothes over the net better for me? And if so does anyone know any good clothes sites? ** with good deals? Well maybe you should try a different mall? The mall I shop at is atleast an hour away, but it's worth it because its much nicer than my local mall. However if you can't get to a better mall, buy some magazines. Try Seventeen or Teen Vogue. Look and see what the models are wearing to get an idea of what's in.
