Q: this is going to be long, but i have to tell the whole story.
last november my grandma died. i had a hard time dealing with it. i lived with her for over a year, we slept in the same bed at night. because, we have little money, and lived in a trailor ith my whole family. i had no, no ,no room of my own. my brothers (i have 3) had to sleep, one in the other bedroom, theres only 2 bedrooms. and my other two brothers sleep on the floor in the bedroom with my brother. after my grandma died i went depressed. and i have had a boyfriend for three years then. he was there for me, and always. he was my everything and i never felt so inlove. well, i started hanging with this girl named amanda that everyone loves at school. we were seniors and she wanted to go to a frat party. i wanted to feel drunk for once in my life. i wanted to have fun. and i think i just wanted to fill the empty space that was there when my grandma died. i started just talking to amandas ex then. trying to get them back together. that was bad. this guy, (brnadon is his name) fell for me. and my boyfriend jon, knew i was talking to him and didnt care, he knew it wasnt anything to worry about. but, then i kind of fell for brandon. i think it was mostly lust. i wanted to have sexx with him. and sex with jon was great. what was wrong with me? I loved jon. he never did me wrong? I went to brandons house a few times. like the 4th time we had sex. and this went on for awhile. we didnt have sex until after i told jon i wanted a break though. so i didnt cheat. but, on my break with jon, i went to that frat party that amanda wanted me to go to, this was new years night by the way, and amanda had no idea i had sex with brandon. or that e and i had been talking since late november. its january by then. and she found out new years night, drunk with me. i lied. i thought i had to. ive never made a bigger mistake, ever, im not usually like this. and she ofcourse, stopped talking to me. rumors went on at school, saying horrbile things. most untrue. it was my fault. and sex with brandon tho, was never better. THE best i had. anyhow, amanda gave jon a favor, not sex. something else. and she was trying to hurt me back. poor jon, i hurt him and he did that with her, to hurt me. look what i did.! uhh. end of feruary came, i stopped being DUMB and jon and i got back together. happyily. after my freakout. i never talked to brandon when me and jon got back together. until last week. yes i thought of him sometimes, but duh. i was with him for 2 months. and now, hes been sending me messages on myspace, and i ,i i like to talk to him. why??? im happy with jon, i am. my advice is, can you tell me why, why im selfish, and pathetic. i know, i made huge mistakes. and i still want to talk to brndon why? the day before me and jon got back together, i told brandon i couldnt do it anymore and i was going back with jon. but me and brandon never had the title of girl/boy/friends. just that we were dating/having sex. and uhh. i hurt him too. then him and amanda got more complicated. look what i did /. im going to hell for sining. and i pray everynight, regretting it. yet, i want to talk to brandon now? why? am i dumb, how much attention do i think i need, really. ugh. HELP.

People make mistakes sometimes. You know what you did was wrong and have regretted and left that life behind. Your grandmother's death was a huge hole in your life and I feel sorry for your loss. You can go to a school counselor, or see your local minister for advice. Tell Brandon you want only to be friends. You hurt him because he thought that the sex was an action of love. You can tell him you're sorry, or if you think it's better, you can stop seeing him. I think you should stop dating Jon for a while until you have you're feet on the ground. Tell him you love him but need to work out what you need. My advice is to volunteer to cope with your loss, like with foundations like Habitat for Humanity or the Help Children's Fund. Say your apologies to everyone you owe them to, and that includes your family as well. The best of luck to you.

Q: Ok so this is my personality I'm outgoing and very LOUD I LOVE TO LAUGH ! You should do what makes you feel comfortable, but act like you would if she didn't say nasty things about you. If you think that you laugh at awkward times or a friend or someone who is nice to you politely tells you that it is irritating, listen to them and make them feel more comfortable around you. Q: There is this girl I like, and she is really cute. I just met her at the beginning of the school year. We haven't really become friends yet. We are more like acquantences. you should meet and talk with her for a little while and then you should ask her out on some sort of nice date, like a concert, a scary movie, a water park, an AV park or maybe even a really nice picnic. On your way back from the date, ask her to the homecoming! But remember not to talk to her about other girls you know, because I'm a girl, and we get super jealous super fast, even if we don't act like it. leave nice notes in her locker or get her favorite candy for her on the way to class or other nice things like that. a considerative guy is so irrestible!

One pound = 3500 calories. Cut out 500 calories from your daily intake and you'll lose 1 lb. a week! Make sure to go on a LOW-FAT diet. Exercising isn't going to counter the effects of a poor diet. Do ab work like sit-ups or crunches 2-3 times a week. Don't invest in any equipment like Ab-Lounge. They don't work any different. Personally, I go for a nice walk/jog for 30 min. 2x a week. Finally, BELIEVE that this WILL work. Tell yourself "I want to weigh (fill in blank)". While eating, concentrate solely on the pleasure of the taste. If you notice that it takes longer to work, tell yourself that your perfect weight is on its way and will take time. Don't weigh yourself, or write your perfect weight on the scale. When you reach your perfect weight, don't stop any of these routines except taking away 500 cal, or you'll keep on losing TOO MUCH WEIGHT!

Well, you should try to talk to your friend's mom if you can, and ask her to help her with her drinking and smoking issue. Groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, quitnet.com and Nicotine Anonymous are good. You'd be doing her a HUGE, ABOSOLUTELY GI-NORMOUS favor. Your mom will be proud of you for helping someone rehab their life potential, and plus you'll probably get to hang with her again.

Oh goodness! I don't know if any of these will help, but it's worth a try. I know it's a lot, but please attempt to read through them!
Laugh.
Swallow air.
Hyperventilate.
Induce a cough or sneeze.
Do the Valsalva maneuver.
Relax and breathe from your diaphragm.
Inhale and exhale once a second for two minutes.
Take three to five of the deepest breaths you can.
Do the Complete Breath as practiced in Hatha Yoga.
Blow on your thumb (as if you were blowing up a balloon).
Hold your breath (for 8 seconds, for as long as you can, etc.).
Inhale some air into your stomach, then let out as loud a belch as possible.
Cough and continue to blow until your lungs are empty; repeat three times.
Carefully inhale; pause briefly; carefully exhale; pause briefly; repeat this several times.
Exhale very slowly (10-12 seconds), exhale slowly (no pause in between), repeat 5 to 6 times.
Inhale deeply; hold your breath for a slow count to twenty; exhale slowly; repeat three or more times.
Breathe slowly and semi-shallowly through your mouth; relax your stomach and chest as much as possible.
Inhale, filling your lungs and diaphragm completely; keep your lungs full and trachea open as long as you can.
Exhale as much air from the lungs as possible; take tiny breaths in and out for as long as you can; repeat if necessary.
Breathe in through your mouth as deeply as you can, as if you you're going to sigh. Count to ten, then let your breath out with a sigh.
As soon as the hiccups start, put your head on the ground (so that your body is in an inverted and hold your breath for ten seconds.
Exhale as fully as possible and hold it out as long as possible; take a long, slow, deep breath; pause; slowly exhale; relax and breathe normally.
Plug your ears (so sound is partially blocked), take a deep breath and swallow 3-6 times straight, without taking a breath between swallows.
Sit somewhere quiet; make sure your posture is straight; breathe slowly and deeply, diaphragm-style, then breathe through your nose as slowly as you possibly can.
A second or two before you expect a hiccup, exhale completely, firmly constrict your diaphragm muscles, and hold that position for several seconds; then breathe normally.
Close your mouth and breath easily through your nose; swallow easily once; tell yourself: "The electrical system short you have experienced has been corrected and your hick-up is gone."
Lie down flat on the floor, press both fists against your stomach (parallel to each other, so that each fist touches each wrist), and breath deeply. (Alternatively, have an assistant do the pressing.)
Hold your arms out like a cross; breathe in as deeply as you can; bring your hands together in front of you as slowly as possible; once your hands touch, breathe out completely, as slowly as possible; take a slow breath in.
Breathe in as you normally would to hold your breath, then repeat this as long as possible: suck in more air, wait two seconds, suck in more air, wait two seconds, etc.; then, hold your breath as long as you can; exhale slowly, completely.
Lie down; stretch out as far as you can (fingers toward the wall above your head, toes pointed toward the wall below your feet); hold your breath as long as possible then breathe once quickly for a quick half of a second then hold your breath again.
Lie flat on your back, completely relax your body, letting the air out of your lungs (don't force it out, just relax and let it flow out) until there is no pressure on your diaphragm; wait until the hiccups cease. (Once you've mastered this technique, you may be able to do it without lying down.)
Take as slow and as deep a breath as you can tolerate (it should take at least 10 seconds to inhale; longer is better); near the end of this breath, you will feel a kind of shudder in your diaphragm; after the shudder, go back to breathing normally (if you do not feel the shudder, repeat the process until you do).
Exhale all of your breath, squeezing the air out as thoroughly as you can and hold your breath. While holding your breath, swallow two or three times (depending on how good you are at holding you breath and swallowing). Swallowing hard helps but is not necessary. Swallowing can be done either dry, using saliva or using a small sip of water. If you feel like you may hiccup again, quickly partially exhale and swallow hard.
As soon as the hiccups start (ideally, after only two or three hiccups), take several deep breaths quickly (that is, hyperventilate), exhale most of the air in your lungs, hold your mouth and nose closed so you can’t breathe. Then (and, if you can time it, just before the next hiccup), try as hard as you can to inhale (but use your hands to prevent any air from entering). If you are successful, the next hiccup will cause you to hear a sound like a muted burp. After the last hiccup, sit quietly; wait about twenty seconds before taking your next breath, then breathe slowly.
Say "pineapple."
Stand on your head.
Make yourself vomit.
Talk non-stop for ten seconds.
Scream for as long as you can.
(Women:) Stimulate your clitoris.
Count to twenty with your fingers in your ears.
Hold your head far back and stroke you throat.
Urinate; concentrate on both peeing and breathing.
Gently rub your ear lobe until the hiccups are gone.
Massage right below your rib cage (on both sides).
Apply acupressure at pressure point Pericardium
Apply pressure to your forehead just above your eyes.
Rub the back of your tongue to stimulate the gag reflex.
Press yourself to the carpet as hard as you can and hold it.
With your eyes closed, massage your eyeballs through your eyelids.
Run; keep running for at least 10 minutes after the hiccups have subsided.
Rub your soft palate with your finger or a cotton swab until you almost gag.
Hold your tongue with your thumb and index finger and gently pull it forward.
Sitting quietly without distractions, concentrating hard, anticipate the arrival of the next hiccup.
With one hand, apply pressure to the gums above your front teeth and to a point just below your nose.
Place the fingers of both hands together right below the center of your ribcage; press in and up at the same time.
Squeeze the end joint of your index finger with the thumb and index finger of the other hand firmly. Hold until the hiccups stop.
With your fingers, apply mild but firm pressure to the phrenic nerves at the position where they cross each side of the collarbone.
With your right thumb, press firmly on the "pressure point" (#18 on this diagram ) of your left hand (reverse if you're left-handed).
As soon as possible after the first hiccup, rap yourself sharply on the solar-plexus (a few times in a row if necessary) with the side of your balled fist.
Take a finger full of hair from the crown of your head and as hard as you can stand (though not hard enough to pull the hair out) for 10 seconds.
Pinch the back of your shoulder until it hurts (this works because the nerves in your shoulder and the nerves that control your diaphragm come from the same place).
Put your hands and elbows over your head and hold your breath (for a count of twenty, or for longer than the space between hiccups, or for as long as you can).
Just before your next hiccup, tighten your diaphragm, as if you are trying to burp. When the next hiccup occurs, it will cause you to burp instead, and the hiccups are over. Rarely, you may have to do it a second time. (Dick McBirney asks that you call it the "McBirney Technique.")
Close the eyes, press the thumbs against the eyeballs with enough pressure to be mildly uncomfortable, hold that for thirty seconds at least (do not exceed 3 minutes, as blood flow to the retina could be compromised in a very select group with a longer than 3 minute exposure) then rapidly release. Some advocate holding your breath while doing this (which is reasonable since few can hold their breath longer than 3 minutes thus saving providing an automatic protection against unduly compromising the retinal blood flow.)
Count the approx. number of seconds between each hiccup, i.e. normal interval between hiccups could be several seconds apart. With this information as a guide, now anticipate each hiccup and mimic the hiccups both in frequency, sound, and even body language, so that you are deliberately hiccupping 'in sync' with it, even better if you can exaggerate the mimicking activity -- like acting on stage? The hiccups should disappear after 5 to 6 deliberations, between 20 seconds to half a minute usually. (Peter Liu, who discovered this technique, has asked that it be identified here as the "Peter-Pierre Method.")
Have a conversation with someone about something unrelated to the hiccups.

Yes of course there is! Firstly, you should do the following back exercises:
1. Opposite Extensions (stretches and strengthens your entire back):
a. Lie on your stomach with your arms and legs outstretched. Pull your abdominals in towards your spine, as if you are trying to create a space between your belly button and the floor. Rest your forehead on the floor to align your neck with the rest of your spine.
b. Lift your right arm and left leg a small way off the floor and stretch them to opposite ends of the room. Hold for five slow counts, then slowly lower. Do the next repetition with your left arm and right leg and alternate until you have completed all repetitions.
2. Back lifts (strengthens your lower back):
a. Lie on your stomach with your palms resting on the floor near your shoulders and with your legs outstretched. Pull your abdominals in towards your spine as if you are trying to create a space between your belly button and the floor. Rest your forehead on the floor to align your neck with the rest of your spine.
b. Without using your hands, lift your head and chest up off the floor as high as you comfortably can. Your palms will lift a small way off the floor too. Hold a moment until you feel a stretch through your lower back and then slowly lower. c.Repeat until you have completed all repetitions.
3. Rows (strengthens your upper back):
a. Stand with your feet straddled front and back about a stride length apart. Hold a free weight or soup can in your right hand and lean forward. b. Place your left hand on your left thigh for support. Stretch your right arm down.
c. Bend your right arm until your hand is at waist level and then slowly lower to the start. Once you have completed all reps, repeat with your left arm.
Drink LOTS of water, and try to get like a 40-30-30 ratio of carbs, protein and fats. Watch your sugar intake and make sure to do aerobic exercises at least 3 times a week.

Q: I'm a sophomore who is "seeing" a senior... is it a bad idea for us to go out? Since the school year is winding down I'm a little concerned about him going to college, even though we still have like 2 more months + summer. He's going to school about 3-4 hours away, BTW. I'm worried that we won't have time for each other, that it will be difficult to have a long distance relationship, and that he will want to go out with other college girls instead of me once he gets there! ask your bf if he'd be willing to wait for you to finish high school until dating anyone else. if that goes well, communicate every day in some sort of way, which will keep you 2 both emotionally connected. while your bf is gone, live a single's life w/o the flirting/anything-else-inappropriate-for-a-relationship. if you can't make it 2 see him occasionally (which is best), do things like see a movie separately then talk about it (or see it 2gether if possible) or stargaze 2gether, but on the phone w/ each other, but no physical prescence of each other or whatever. avoid the temptation to be controlling, talk about your future 2gether, and be prepared to say good-bye if my advice doesnt work out
