why won't he ask me out?

Question Posted Friday June 15 2007, 1:28 pm

What are some reasons why a single guy who you know likes you won't ask you out? I'm asking because there is a guy from work who has liked me since before Xmas. He knows I like him back yet he hasn't asked me out. Do you think he's waiting for me to make the first move?

You never know. Try setting up a group date and ask him along.

Unless you told this guy outright that you liked him, it is unlikely that he would get your hints. It doesn't matter how book smart or street smart a guy is, they don't usually get subtleties.

If you have told him straight out that you liked him and he still hasn't made a move, he could be shy. If you know he isn't shy, he could be waiting to see if you actually mean what you said about liking him back. It's possible that he isn't making a move on you because he's been used by some girl that claimed to like him before.

My suggestion is to just make the move yourself. If he likes you back already, and he's single, you have nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps.

maybe he doesnt like you. i mean, im not saying its not a possibility or even a probability but it could be. also, it could be that hes shy and doesnt want to come on too strong. or maybe he doesnt know that you like him too. there are tons of explanations. you should try making the first move because if he does in fact like you and knows that you like him that is probably what he wants.

Chances are he's pretty shy and not really confident about making the first move he's probably worried that he'll get shot down...it would be good if you made the first move to show him your interested

Possibly, or he's a little shy.

Either way, make the first move so things can start moving forward.

more than likely he is just really shy and even though he knows that you like him he still may be a little nervous. sometimes he may just need the push to go out. invite him to somewhere like the movies or something and see what happens. hoped this helps =]
