Okies, I want to re-do my room. Like completely. The current color is lime green and I think its getting old and nasty. So I'm going to paint it red...the thing is that I want to add a certain 80's rockstar/ vintage prep feel to the room and I am BLANKED for ideas. The red is looking good so far, but I have no idea what else I should do. I'm going to have one of those theater mirrors with light bulbs like making a frame of the mirror, but thats about all the ideas I have. Does anyone know what color bed covers I should use to make the whole thing one style instead of a million?

I just bought homecoming tickets for my boyfriend and I today. Next Wednesday, the 5th, is our three month anniversary and his gift from me is going to be the homecoming tickets and for him to be my date... etc. See we were already planning on going together, but I just wanted to ask him in a cute, romantic way to really make him feel special. It can't be anything too expensive, I guess I'm jsut looking for ideas. So what I'm asking is what is a sweet, creative, original way I can ask him to go to homecoming with me?
You could by a box of chocolates and you know how the candy is on little wrappers? you can put paper between the wrapper and the chocolate with one of the letters. Then as he eats the chocolate it will spell out H-O-M-E-C-O-M-I-N-G-?

Responses to my last question have influenced me to write this. People have been telling me that bands like MCR are "great" and the "fans" don't "look at the band"*** but listen. Anywho, I now propose this:
If all these new bands aren't mostly about their image, why do so many kids mimic their appearance?
We shall use MCR again, as they are a good example. Black hair, girl pants, the works. There are kids who copy this style to the T. They may listen to the music, but they sure try and play the part too. What if MCR dressed more conservative? Do you think their fanbase would drop? Do you think the youth would start dressing more civil as well? I'll use my favorite band, Radiohead, as a counter example. They make millions of dollars, have a massive fanbase, but are far from eccentric. From performing to living their everyday lives, they dress down in the most casual of clothes. When you see them perform, the fans are mostly the same. No outrageous dyed black hair with gaudy excessive crap all over their bodies.
So, in summary, do bands like MCR sell more music or a style, and would they be as successful if they weren't so eccentric?
note: please don't answer this if you are an MCR fan and are coming to praise the band. this isn't an MCR question.
***I think some were confused when I said most new music is about image and not music.
I Think it depends on the fan. If someone had liked MCR before they were on MTV and they changed it wouldnt matter because to them it is all about the music. However if we are talking about one of those teenyboppers who have a million cut outs of magazines and wear MCR shirts even though they do not have either of there cd's they would label them as sellouts. So it think it is about the music no matter what along with other longtime fans of MCR and other bands but others would move on to another band if they changed. I also think the same goes for Green Day and Fall Out Boy

I have been friends with Lauren since Kindergarden. We've always been close and I've ignored the fact that she's really geeky. Now, im in 7th grade and I'm starting to be really concious of it. Shes so embarassing!! Her nails look like a witch's and she won't let me cut them. I've been trying to slowly ignore her, but since we've been close since forever its hard to pull away. If you really want to just drop her as a friend you need to do it nicely. You have been friends for a long time and you do not want to hurt her. Whenever she asks if you want to go somewhere together tell her you already have plans, If you used to talk on the phone 3 times a week, cut that down to 1. After awhile you will be free from her and she will think that you naturally drifted apart.

I Agree that it shouldnt matter. Sometimes people can be so shallow when it comes to things like that. Im sure at first your friends wont like the idea of you dating him but once they get to know him and see how great the two of you are for eachother, it wont matter. And his friends will get to know you too. I think this is a chance for you to change all of the "rules" about dating at your school. But the bottom line is dont worry about what anyone says about you or who your boyfriend is.

Well it is possible that your friend took your side in the break up becuase the two of you are really good friends. That doesnt mean he likes you it just means he cares about you. Since you like him just hang out with him. Does he ever flirt with you? If he does then go ahead and flirt back, and if he doesnt then maybe he is only interested in being friends.

Okay so I'm thirteen years old and I just got my period yesterday. I was at a pool party that day and my friends gave me a tampon, instructions, and locked me in a bathroom trying to get me to put the damn thing in. It was ''regular'' size (Tampex with the yellow code or w/e) and it hurt soooooooooooooooo much! I had the tip in and then after that it hurt soo much, it wouldn't go in. I just bought Playtex ''Lites Junior'' or something and I'm too afraid to put it in. Help!
Alright first you have to make sure you have the applicator in not just the tip of the tampon. That is a very common mistake. But Dont worry it takes a few tries before you can get them in

My friend keeps writing all these creepy poems about suicide or cutting herself. When I asked her about it she acted like it was no big deal. Do you think I should be worried about it?
I dont think you have to worry. She most likely doesnt cut or have thoughts of suicide. writing may be her way of letting out emotions. You should worry when she says things like "Things would be better off without me" but for now just read her poems when she wants you too and always be there for her.

Okay heres the story, me and my 18 year old sister both have boyfriends out of state. However my sister has her boyfriend come up all the time and I just get so jealous becuase I can't see my boyfriend for another 3 months. I know its not that big of a deal but since I JUST stopped cutting less then a month ago the littlest things make me want to do it. I sit here as I'm writing this entry listening to my sister and her boyfriend fighting about how the hicci was to big and im so upset becuase I just want my guy here right this moment. I had my mom hide the scissors from me so that I wouldn't do anything becuase I honestly want to stop cutting and I have almsot made a month with out doing it I also promised my boyfriend that I wouldn't but its just getting so hard without seeing him I just need to be with him but I cant untill July becuase of school ... the only thing that keeps me from not breaking down at night since I cant lay in his arms is that he sings me to sleep on the phone every night ... I just need to prove to him and to myself that I can hold back, that I dont need to cut ... Hes all I have and if I cut I fear that I'll lose him even though we are in love ... does anyone have any suggestions to how to keep my mind off this awful habbit when I start to get deppressed about not being able to be with him ... oh and another thing that does not help my trying not to cut is I'm on medication for depression but my dad just kicked me out of the house so I dont have my medication which causes my depression to get really bad since my body is not used to not having my meds
Ok 1st relax....This is what I do when I have the urge to cut....Either go and sit with someone like your mother...being with someone might help take your mind off things.....Or call your bf and talk to him instead...tell him that you feel like you need to right now and he'll calm you down...If you cant call him call another friend who knows....or even try to breathe deeply for a while or take a hot shower
