I think taking them increases your risk of getting breast cancer, but the odds of getting it are still very small. They dont GIVE you cancer, nor do they prevent it. This can be offset by getting a yearly/bi=yearly breast examination by a professional, and by doing regular checks yourself monthly. Talk to a doctor or nurse for more information.

Q: My best friend and I were going to go to the same college next year since we both got in and it's a good school (UT). Well I was talking to his mom today and college came up and she said that she was sorry that we wouldn't be able to go to the same school. I asked her what she was talking about because the plan was that both of us would go to UT. Well, it turns out that he had changed his mind a few weeks and go and now wants to go to Tx State.
This really upset me becuase I don't know why he didn't tell me about it. I'm not mad that he doesn't want to go to UT. If he thinks Tx State would be a better school for him and he really wants to go there then fine. But why not atleast share that info with me?
I can't believe I had to find out from his mom in a random conversation I had with her. Why do you think he didn't tell me? Should I ask him about it or wait until her brings it up (IF he brings it up)?

Q: When I go over my grandma's house or any other family member's house I always act negative for some reason! I can't figure it out! the simple answer is that you're a 13 year old girl, and thats what 13 year old girls do. I did it, my cousins did it, my friends did it, everyone does it. For some reason, we just get snippy around people... You can try to lighten up a bit, just smile more or something... boredom could also be doing it, maybe you should find some more interesting things to do while you're out at relatives houses.

the perfect job for a makeup artist. get out your makeup kit, follow these directions (i did makeup for a play with a bunch of kids that were supposed to be ill)
eyelids- red (not REALLY red, just heavy-red)
under eyes- slightly dark, like you havent been sleeping.
face- clammy-looking, either pale or flushed, not both.
lips- pale and cracked. purse your lips and put concealer over them, blot with a tissue, relax.
furthermore, feet and hands should be cold, head should be hot if flushed, cold if pale. Dont overdo it, you're not trying to be linda blair.
HOWEVER, I reccomend you don't fake sick. Nothing good ever came out of it. If you're looking to get a day off school, wait for march break.

About an hour after I put on my makeup after I washed my face, my face gets oily and my make up wears off. My make up is OIL FREE too. Use a good toner. You can get the kind that specifically tightens pores.
As for home remedies, I generally make a kind of toner out of dilluted witch hazel, rosewater, and a smidge of rubbing alcohol. Also, moisturizing with Aloe Vera Gel (not the kind that comes in pump-bottles for sunburn.. this kind is pure aloe you can also use internally for heartburn/upset stomach. You can get it from health/natural food stores). You take the gel and blot (not wipe) over your face gently with a tissue/cotton ball.
Also, wait about half an hour after you use astringent/toner on the face to give your pores time to close BEFORE you put your makeup on.

pregancy tests are ineffective until 1 day after your missed period, so you're just going to have to wait. otherwise, theres no way to tell for certain.
some of the more common signs are missed period (of course), swollen breasts, nausea/vomitting, and abdominal cramps.
Wait to see if you get your period on your regular date. if not, wait a week. if theres still no sign, get a test done or see your doctor.

sounds like this one is DOA, thats dead on arrival. Getting a friend to tell some guy that you like him is a mistake that many novices make.
As for thinking you'll never stop liking him, it'll go. trust me. it feels like you'll love him forever right now, but if nothing happens and you harbor those feelings for too long, you're just going to end up hurting yourself.
If he likes you, great, take it from there. If not, forget him, find someone else. I know its hard, I went through the same thing when I was younger. But there is life after your first prolonged crush, you'll see.
If you want to see if he likes you, just talk to him! Ask him yourself, ask him if he wants to go ice skating (or rollerblading if theres no snow where you are), and see if he takes the bait. 2)if it says "she says" in the book, its third person, when a person speaks, its just them speaking. Like they're not narrating the story, they're just in it. It's third person. Basicly, you're not making a poster from the characters point of view, but from an omnipitent point of view. I havent read the book, so I can't give you any good ideas, but im sure you can cook something up.

Q: I know alot of kids don't like their step parents but my step dad takes it to another level.

Last night my mom and him threw a party and my sister and I had to be there. When everyone was leaving around 3am, my mom had gone outside to say bye to everyone while my step dad, sister, and I stayed inside.
My sister and I were talking to each other about these guys we had met that night (my mom's friend’s sons). He was listening to our conversation and said, out of no where, "I don't know what boys would be interested in you two." He always says this stuff so I just told him to shut up and mind is own conversations (I know, disrespectful but it's hard to respect him).
We got into a little argument and he then told us how immature, bratty, spoiled, we are and how we think we're princesses. Jokingly, my sister told him that we were princesses, in our dad's eyes anyways. I guess that got him mad because then he went off talking about my dad and how he's the problem because he gives us what we want. He then said that if we didn't believe everything he was saying about us that we should ask our mom and grandparents on what they think about us.
After all of that, he told us about all this stuff that my dad did while he was still married to my mom like how he once slept with a hooker and how he was always at work and never home. Alot of unnecessary things that we didn't need to know and probably shouldn't have known, specially my sister.
I knew that my parents had troubles and things like that, why else would they have gotten a divorce? But who is he to tell us exactly what happened and what my dad did. I mean does he seriously think that we would turn against our dad or end up hating him or something? Or is he just jealous of him?
Like I said, I know my dad did some things (now I know exactly what) but so did my mom. But we still love him and he's great to us and is a good parent too.
After he went to sleep I went into my sister's room to get something from her and she had cried herself to sleep. When I saw that, I went to talk to my mom about what had happened because I usually just blow it off. When I told her, she didn't believe me about the names he called us and how he told us that she and my grandparents thought the same! And all she did about the part about my dad was say, "Well, at least you know the truth about your father now." She just talked about how we never once tried to be nice to him and he was trying his best. She didn't even care about the stuff he said about us or my dad.
We were nice to him before when him and my mom first started dating but he was still mean to us back then so we started being mean back. he always used to talk about my dad too.
I don't know what to do because it seems like no matter what she's always on his side. Plus he has no right talking about my mom and dad's relationship.

First of all, he has no right whatsoever to talk about your dad. what you have to realize is that your mum is always going to take this guys side, even if he's completely wrong, because thats what middle aged divorced women do when they find some new man to cling on to.
I'd love to tell you to scream at this guy and be a total brat, but that wont accomplish anything.
Just to start off, tell him in a respectful (hard, I know) way that you don't want him to talk about your dad in front of you. Be firm, but not whiny. Establish yourself as a person who has boundaries, and that is one of them.
Failing that, if he still talks about your dad when youre around, get up and leave. dont say anything, just get up and walk away.
Also, tell your mother that you need her support too, and that she isnt the only one having a rough time through all this. That you need her to understand that you dont want to hear about anything that your dad did wrong or that she did wrong because they're your parents, and you need to be able to respect both of them.
If all this dysfunction continues, you need to see a professional of some sort. A mediator, a psycologist, even the school councellor. Just talk to someone who can be kind of a third party for this issue. This is not the kind of environment you want to be growing up in, believe me, I KNOW. But get something done before it gets worse and he goes nuts and kicks you out of the house or something.
Alternately, go live with your dad. Both you and your sister. Get out of that negative environment at any cost.

look at the tip of several strands. split ends happen when one strand of hair has split at the bottom, creating a kind of fork in the road look, it makes hair look fried and unkempt. lots of people have the urge to pull them apart. DO NOT DO THIS. instead, trim a 1-2 inch section of the offending strands, it'll make your hair look healthier without needing to fork out money for treatments and garbage like that.
