I need some good advice about my sister. She is 15 yrs. old {I am 21 if that matter's} and has been getting in alot of trouble at school & home. She got into a fight at school, stole my mom's car one night to go joy riding, tried to hook-up with a 26 year old ex-convict, and the other day was caught giving a note to a boy with a condom inside, asking him when they were gonna have sex! My mom, or me doesnt know what to do anymore. Talking to her about this doesn't seem to phase her. She just cries, promises to do better and never does. Do you think she is doing this for attention? Also, I told my mom I think she need's to get on birth-control, for the obvious reasons, so she will not get pregnant. My mom said NO! she said putting her on birth-control is just going to give my sister the go-ahead to have sex. I don't know if she has ever had sex or not, but if she's passin' out condoms to people then i dont think it'll be to long before she does. Any advice? (link)

since you're twenty-one, technically you're old enough to take your sister to a clinic and have her put on birth control yourself. if you don't like this idea, you could even go and get birth control, but give it to her instead. no matter what your mother says, birth control is a definite requirement for this girl. even if she takes it as the go-ahead, at least you know she's safe.
this girl needs to be punished. not hardcore, locked-inside-the-house deals; those would only further encourage her to rebel. but it does sound like she's simply trying to get attention, so give her some. and if you're in a bad area, i would even suggest something as serious as moving to a better one, where the odds were less likely that she could get into so much trouble.
just try and express your concerns for your sister, show her some nasty pictures of stds, and, most importantly, tell her that although you're worried, you ABSOLUTELY TRUST HER JUDGEMENT. this is the guilt-trip approach; you should try and make her feel honored that you respect her, convey that you are confused about her recent behavior, and make sure she knows that you want to be proud of who she is. put all this as positively as possible, and the honor she should feel may well be enough to steer her in the right direction.

if you don't already, finger yourself. it will loosen you up a bit downstairs, making for a less painful experience.
if you're too stuck up to finger yourself, have your boyfriend do it for you, if you have one.
personally, my first time was only a little bit of a sting, but i have heard girls complain of worse. they may have just been typical whiny girls, though. then there's always the three-finger method. if you feel like you're dying, it's probably going to hurt a great deal. just make sure there is plenty of foreplay the first time, so that you're exceptionally wet. the added lubrication will make the entire process smoother, leaving less room for pain. the fact that the victim is generally dry is a large part of what can make rape so painful.
also, your first time, if you are very nervous, you may want to try being on top. in this way, you have more control over the level of penetration, and can decide what feels best for you. don't worry about his level of pleasure; if it's his first time, he'll probably like whatever you do. ;)

no. he probably just hates condoms.
you should try and put it on for him. surprise him with it, maybe blindfold him then take off his pants and don't let him help you. if you're a good girly, the odds are that your obvious intentions will arouse him enough that he doesn't lose his erection.
if you don't know how to apply a condom, it's not hard at all, and you could always have him teach you. remember to roll all the way down to the base, and to leave an area about the size of the end of your thumb free for him to ejaculate.

Hey there. Well, I started birth control last Sunday. I haven't even been on it for a complete week. Well, my boyfriend and me had sex, and I read in this little book I have about the birth control I'm taking, and it says it takes a month for birth control to become effective. I really worried now. Is there a chance I could get pregnant? I mean, does it actually take a month, or do they mean, the first time you take it, it's effective? (link)

depends on what method of birth control you're on.
most methods, however, take AT LEAST ONE WEEK to be effective, so there is a chance that you are pregnant.
while not failsafe, generally a girl will ovulate about fifteen days after she last starter her period. this means that the safest times to have sex would be the week after or before your period. however, this does vary from female to female, and i would strongly recommend using birth control during these times regardless, but perhaps trying to avoid having intercourse at times other than these.

I'm searching for a good birth control method to use. I have taken Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and Depro Vera before, and would not be incredubly unwilling to try them again. The problem is that I have a very hard time remembering the pill each day, and I have heard bad things about the shot. Such as: weight gain, increase in discharge... and I find it hard to believe that it is healthy to go through your life without having your period.
I know that this should be a question for my gynocologist, but I could not get an appointment for another month or so. I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on a good method of birth control. Perhaps some good and bad experiences you have had?

ortho evra, a.k.a., the patch, is a wonderful alternative to the pill and the shot. i've been on it for about two years now, and never had a problem.
weight gain IS a side effect of most every birth control treatment available for women, but it's also an effect of PREGNANCY, so i wouldn't worry about that one. worse comes to worst, it'll make your breasts bigger.
as for the increase in discharge, i haven't heard this one, but i haven't noticed anything of the like.
i usually wear the patch on my rump, switching cheeks each month. you only have to change it once per month, 3 weeks a month, and go one week without it. it controls your period, and not vice-versa [period usually starts about 3-4 days after removing the patch after the third week]. it's free, and each box contains one month's supply [3 patches].
downsides are that it leaves a square-shaped mark, similar to the ones that band-aids leave behind, and carting around a patch on your rump all the time may seem unattractive to you. there are other places to wear it, such as lower stomach, upper abdomen, upper arm, etc. generally you should not wear it on extremities unless specifically advised, and NEVER wear patch on breasts.

This is a bit of a hot-button topic and I want everyone to know that I understand extreme responses, but I am asking here in the spirit of recieving support and suggestions. I'm interested in the practicalities of your opinions, here, not simply upon recieving judgement. PLEASE show some compassion and kindness.
So here's the deal: Next week I'm taking a plane flight to Scotland to marry my partner of 6 years. We have a very strong relationship. However, I feel I have very little on the level of practical support to offer in the relationship -- such as a finished education, a job, general income, etc. This relationship is my priority at all times and I will not compromise it for anything.
Recently, I was looking through job offers in a local paper and found an ad for escorts, offering daily cash, a safe environment, and training. According to the person running this service, an escort can make $10,000 a week -- with such an income, I could not only prepare MYSELF for travel, but I could help my incapacitated father a $1000 root canal on his last working tooth (his densures don't work for chewing), I could pay off ALL my college debts, and I could move on with my life.
However, I know that there are many negative aspects to consider in the world of escorting: disease, stigma, relationship integrity, and legality, as well as personal spiritual health & self-image.
If I lived in a world that had none of the above negative factors, I'd be all over the opportunity! Unfortunately, such a world doesn't exist, and I'm here asking you for alternate ideas, suggestions, anything really.

regarding your question, which was - thank god - a very good one, you should not take the job. if this relationship is your highest priority, then money is not, and even if the both of you are poor, you should still be happy - if your love is truly that strong. if it isn't, then so be it, and you can rest easy knowing that you did not compromise your values. that general feeling sounds like your conscience, or perhaps more accurately, your subconscious.
if you are college-educated, there should be a wide variety of jobs available to you, quite possibly even more in scotland.
please, if you want to retain your integrity and your self-respect, DON'T DO IT. yes, i am saying 'please' in my advice. i'm that sure of it.

Okay I asked a question before about the pill and I was wondering something else....If I do decide to have sex w/out a condom, and get pregnant say five months later....if I keep taking the pill, will it kill the fetus before it gets into the really late stages of pregnancy? If anyone knows any websites with that information, i'd appreciate it a lot...i've searched and can't find anything....Thanks

the pill does not kill the fetus, silly.
just watch your period and try to have sex either right after or right before it's scheduled. that's safest. i've had sex - well, more than a hundred times, beyond that i'm clueless as to precise figures - and my partner has used a condom perhaps 3 of those times, at most. condoms are smelly and annoying, and if given the choice, i would probably rather not have sex than use a condom. i am on the patch, and have never had any problems, even without any condoms.
i would recommend the patch before the pill. you only have to remember to change it once a week, and though it does leave little squares on your skin, similar to the ones band-aids do, it's easier to work with than the strictly-regimented pill.

if it's a very serious relationship, it will probably last years. a lot of couples have been together for over ten years, and in that much time, have had to be away from each other for much longer.
if your relationship is strong and healthy, the only thing you need do is prepare yourself to miss him, and perhaps ask to bring one of his shirts along. the boy i love is one thousand miles away, and i likely won't see him until christmas. if we don't last until then, at least i know that it's because we weren't strong enough. that knowledge alone should be enough to encourage you to move on, simply because it is quite straightforward.

Hey, i hope someone can help me out. I'm gonna try and make this as short as i can. I'm 17 and me and my boyfriend just recently became sexually active the 17th of July. We had sex about 3 times and used protection all 3 times. The condom did not break and i'm pretty sure about that because we checked. My last period was on the 6th for like 3 days and i normally have a full 7 day period. It was a little weird. I had sex "after" my period and it was my first time. Anyway, today is the 15th and i still haven't started my period. I have had irregular periods before but i'm just really worried. I have taken two pregnancy test in the past two weeks and they both have came out negative. They weren't cheap tests either.. (E.P.T Certaincy) I've been really.. stressed out about this situation. I've lost sleep and i think about it day in and day out. The only time i never really think about it is at work when i'm busy. Could i be just stressin my self out and causing my period to be late? if you're both using protection, there's really nothing to worry about. the odds of a condom failing if used absolutely correctly, nothing super-freaky, are less than 1%. any difference in that percentage is due to stupid people, so don't worry about it. the odds of, say, the pill or the patch failing are about the same, maybe a little more. combined, the odds of both failing simultaneously are minimal.
so, if you aren't already on birth control, i suggest you do so.
changes in your period after having sex are normal. my entire schedule changed when i first became active. it's even normal to skip a period as your body is going through many changes. somewhat rare, but not at all unheard of.
STOP BUYING THOSE TESTS. wait at least a week, and if your period still hasn't come, consult a doctor or even a medical website about the best route to take from there.
as you may well know, there are only approximately 2 days a month in which a girl is even capable of becoming pregnant. so a good idea in the future is to try and focus more on sex during the week after your last period, and the week before your next one is due. the week between these is generally the one containing the yellow-zone, but having sex days before your period is almost assuredly a good route. still, use protection, though.

Ok like, my boyfriend and I have been having sex for a while now. And I just haven't really been in the mood all that much anymore. I think it's because when ever he sees me he wants to do something sexual, and I don't really want to. So because of that I NEVER want to. And he gets mad and claims that he's forcing me to when he kind of is. It's really rare that I actually want to do something anymore. the best brand of pregnancy test is the patented wait-till-your-next-period test. it's free, you don't have to worry about your mother finding it, and if you have to wait a few weeks anyway, what's the point.

this is a casual, flirty, yet professional style of my own design:
take a pen, preferably one with a cap, or even a plain yellow pencil, sharpened and fairly long, and slide it beneath your hair. holding the hair above the pen(cil), pick up the pen and begin using it to twist your hair. either direction works. when it is fairly secure, stick the writing end of the pen through a tighter portion of your hair, then continue twisting until you've reached desired level of tightness. the ends tend to splay out, and you can do this as high as you please. it tends to leave your hair fairly tangled afterwards, so be warned.
tips: if it begins to come undone, simply idly tuck loose strands in, twist more, and secure as the day goes by.
also, if your hair is thick, you can only do this to the vertical top half of your hair.
a good idea is to leave a few bangs free to hang in your face.

I have medium blonde hair and I want to dye the ends purple. Now, I'm worried that this will look bizarre and I'll have to cut it. So, I'm thinking about buying the temporary dye. I have two questions. First, do you think what I want to do with my hair would look weird, or do you think I would be better off putting a few streaks in it? My hair goes about halfway down my back. Second, what is a good type of dye that will wash out in one or two showers? The water at my house is kind of weird (It has a lot of chlorine in it) so I need a dye that won't react with the water and make my hair look weird after I wash the dye out. (link)

i've known at least two blonde girls who dyed the tips, and it didn't look good for either. my recommendation would be to divide your hair into quarters vertically, using a comb, and to pin the top three portions up, leaving only the bottom fourth [closest to your skin] to be dyed. then it will show softly from beneath, or more strongly when you wear your hair up, so even if you don't like it, you can get rid of it.
i've heard underground color is a good brand, but it's semi-permanent. if the purple goes well, i would suggest adding pink streaks as well, for extra flair.
also, whatever you do, don't go blue. the blue mixed with the natural blond will fade to a sick seafoam green. trust me, i know from experience.

Hey, I'm 13 in eighth grade, and this Saturday on October 30th, there will be a Junior High Halloween Dance. I need a costume idea, but I go to a Catholic school, so we can't have "vulgar", "revealing", or "gorey" costumes, as my principal says. depends on the season. if you would normally wear shorts around this time, do so. when asked why your legs are bear, you can simply tell them it was a dare, and that you never turn down a dare. then wink if you know how. if you look gay it won't much matter, because gay guys are hot.
