hey,
kso.
there is this dance friday.
and i'm not really into anyone at the moment,
and like i want to be and this is the right place so i wanna look hot so they might
feel the same way. so any idea's of what to wear it is sorta cold were i live so yeah.
and i wear hollister, abercrombie, tna stuff like that if that helps.
thanks to all the people who help me

I know Hollister and Abercrombie ... but I am not familar with TNA and their website didn't really help...
Since both Hollister and Abercrombie is cute but conservative, I suggest you mix it up a bit. If you want people to SEE you differently (HOT), you need a WOW factor.
Instead of Jeans, go for the long tunic/short dress look with leggings. Since it is cold, layer with a blazer or fitted leather jacket vs a coat. If you have a pair of killer boots vs standard Ugg like boots, that is great. Or try a pump in a kick ass color (no neutrals. Keep your silhouette slim.
It is pricey, but at least check out the "Free People" clothing line on the web. Lots of good ideas for layering. Notice if the top is oversize and drapey, the bottom is SKINNY.
Here is what I had in mind from Urban Outfitters:

Bebe's may seem a little slutty/scary, but if you tone it down, it is definitely sexy! Here are some ideas from there:
http://www.bebe.com/b/1267801011
If you want to stick to your favorite 'these jeans make my butt look great' instead of leggings, then make the shirt and shoes REALLY pop! You can even use a short dress as a long top over jeans. Put some bling in the belt.
And if you still have time and $$, nothing like fresh cut and high or low lights to make you feel sassy.

My son has had an issue of spitting at people and has gotten into trouble twice in the past three days. They have taken away recess and at home his dad and i have tried punishing him but it has continued. What should we do? (link)
|
It may just be a coping skill. When my son wanted people to leave him alone, he would spit at them.
We found this out by hiding in our car at recess and watching his interaction with the other kids. He was being bullied, and instead of hitting people he spit at people.
Talk through what was happening during the incident. How he was feeling (scared, mad, upset, hurt, etc.) Hopefully if you GIVE him an alternative acceptable action, instead of just taking away an unacceptable action, he will quit the spitting.

Kay , i'm 16 - I want to get my nose pierced . Say I get it done , but in a couple of years I want to take it out ... will the hole grow up ? (link)
|
It depends on how long you have the piercing and how well it has healed.
The holes in my ear lobes are permanent. They are completely healed and will not close up no matter how long I leave out an earring. The hole does get smaller, but it is still there.
The hole in my cartilage is newer, and has not finished healing. When I leave out an earring, it closes back up and I have to poke a hole back in it to open it up. OUCH, and the healing process starts all over again...
All piercings shrink, but the longer you have them, the longer they take to shrink.
Dermatologists can 'remove' a piercing, but there is scarring.

okay so i know the house they used in the movie used to be a funeral home, and is that the house that it really took place in? or was it just used for filming?
and is the family it actually happened to still alive? (link)
|
This was filmed in Winnipeg, Canada, so the original house on 208 Meriden Avenue in Southington, CT was not used.
The actual house is still standing. Because of the new movie, there has been a lot of curious people drive by to look at the house. The family living there now has never seen anything unusual inside their five-bedroom, two-family white wood-frame house and does not believe the property was haunted. The house was "cleared" of the evil presence after a seance in 1988.
In the 2009 movie, the family's name has been changed to the Campbell's. The families real last name is Snedeker. The Snedeker family lived at the house for about two and a half years before they moved to another house in the area. They are still alive.

ive been wanting a tongue piercing for about two years now. it started when i noticed a lot of people had then, and how pretty they looked. even my favourite singer of my favourite band had one.
i asked my dad a year ago, and he didnt really like the idea of a large needle going through his daughters tongue. now, i asked him again, and he still doesnt like the idea, or the idea of my enamel being chipped to death, but i think hes going to let me anyways. he just said i needed to talk to my mom.
the only problem is my mom is way hardheaded, and she and i have never had a level of communication. compared the way she was when she was my age, im a total screw-up and shes a goodie goodie.
so i caved one day and asked her. as i suspected, she wouldnt listen to a thing i said and basically said no. she said she wanted to think about it. which usually means, she'll say no. but she didnt give me a good reason. she just thinks its gross because its a wound and bacteria can collect in there and whatnot.
i wanna know how i can get her to just stop fighting and listen to me. she never ever does and im tired of it.
thanks. (link)
|
Chin up - 18 will get here sooner than you think...but in the mean time...
You may need to do this in a note, if you and your mom don't have the communication lines that let you talk through it:
First, let your mom know you love her. Believe it or not, parents care that their kids love and respect them. Not that she will cave on what she thinks is the right parenting decision to ensure your love.
Second, remind her of all the things you do right: grades, curfew, not breaking rules, whatever community service/school activities you are involved in, etc. Let her know the high standards she and your dad set up help you be the kind of person that cares enough to succeed.
Third, tell her you understand it isn't something SHE would chose, but it is important to you. Remind her there are MUCH worse ways to express individuality - not that you are threatening to do something much worse, but in the big picture this is reversible and if handled correctly, safe.
Forth, let her know you appreciate that she loves you for who you are...
She still may not say yes...but at least what you wanted is considered.
Also, don't let your dad off the hook so quickly. It is easily for him to say 'maybe' knowing your mom will veto. Make sure he is really on board if mom says yes, or this could unexpectedly unravel.

What day does school get out for Galveston TX? No, I can't ask a teacher because I'm homeschooled and have been my whole life and I just moved here so I dont know much about this place. I already know that summer really starts around June 21st but I also know that school gets out earlyer I just don't know the exact date. Thanks to everyone that takes the time to read and answer this! (link)

When my hair dries its fuzzy and frizzy with wild random waves. I've used every serum, gel, mousse, shampoo, cream, and conditioner I can find to fix it- nothing makes much of a difference. Even the color looks funny until I flat iron it.
What can I do to get my hair soft and smooth when it dries naturally? (link)
|
If you can afford it, I suggest getting it chemically straightened with the Japanese method of hair straightening. It will change your life! lol
This is also known as Thermal Reconditioning.
You have to shop around - you will find the price varies by quite a lot. Do a search on Rusk Thermal STR8, Yuko, Thermal Ionic, Lliscio & Optismooth. Look at the before and after pictures. You will be amazed. Depending on how curly your hair is, it will need to be retouched for the new growth.
My hair is similar to yours, (uneven waves, frizzy) and I only get it retouched yearly. What I spend on getting it done, I save in hair products, styling tools, and time.

I am in love with this outfit

and the dress underneath looks like this
http://i43.tinypic.com/2j6a16c.jpg
but that dress is 336$, I have the leggings and shoes, but where can I get a cheap version of the leather jacket and a similar version of the dress. Thanks! (link)

Hi. I found your Geren Ford Rivet Shift Dress. The beading/sequins are actually rivets and the dress is silk. Very cute. If you want to try it on for fun, Saks carries it.
Bluefly and i-covet (on-line) sells some of his clothing for 40% + off. Not THIS dress, but some others you might like since you like his designs.
Urban Outfitters carries a line of his under the name HAWKS by Geren Ford. They have a grommet tank for $88 you might like. Urban Outfitters also had several black 'bomber jackets' that were a little shorter, and tight in the sleeves like the pic. They run around $130.
This is similar - at Bebe.com
Beaded Trim Tank Dress $129.00
Unfortunately, it only comes in PINK.

what kind of flowers are those? :]
im doing my hair like that for prom and im thinking about doing the flower thing too. (link)
|
The flowers in the picture is a white orchid. They are more common at florist and in the flower department of grocery stores, and more easily found than other orchids.
If you get a matching corsage to wear, you could get the flowers from the same florist that does your corsage.
The only problem would be keeping them fresh to last through prom date ... usually this type of flower is kept fresh (after cutting) by inserting the stem into a little water container. You would need to hide this in your hair. It could be done with this hairstyle, as they embedded the flower in the curls.
FYI - I love it!

my hair is curly and i want to get it chemically straightened. but i also would like to lighten it a bit. my hair is dyed dark brown right now, but my natural color is more of a golden brown. i want to get that color back. my question is which one should i do first? Chemically straighten it, or lighten it up? and can i do them both without completely killing my hair...? all answers are appriciated. thanks in advance. please help! (link)
|
I have had my hair chemically straightened and later colored and/or lightened many many times. Be sure to have both processes done by a professional.
You need to do the straightening first. If you do the color first the straightening process could strip off the color or dull the highlights.
After the straightening, wait 2 weeks and then have the color or highlights done. Be sure to tell the person doing your color/highlights about the straightening so they can be extra gentle.

My Peridontist did a biopsy on my tongue of a white spot I had. The result came back that it was Papilloma my questions:
I had a really bad case of Periungal warts for about three years that are finally going away after so many different treatments; do you think the wart on my tongue is a result of my biting my nails? Would it spread to the tongue? I’m just not sure if the tongue would be a host to these type of warts that appear around the finger nails.
My peridontist said he removed it and believed it will not come back. My tongue is still healing, was two weeks ago, and there’s a bump where stitches we placed, not sure if it’s thick skin that developed from the surgery or if it’s still a wart. Question: How do I know when it’s safe to kiss my partner? Is this easily transmitted by kissing? If indeed it’s gone—I do know the virus stays with one—does that mean that although I will always have the virus, but if the wart is not visually present, I will not spread it to my partner? I just want to make sure that I don't pass it by kissing.
Thank you. (link)

The human papilloma virus (HPV) is one of the most common virus groups in the world. Over eighty types of HPV have been identified.
These viruses are quite common, yet it is still unclear how the ones that cause oral papillomas are spread.
Different types of the human papillomavirus are known to infect different parts of the body. Oral papillomas are most usually a result of the infection with types HPV-6 and HPV-11. Common skin warts ARE NOT HPV-6 or HPV-11, so most likely finger biting did not spread it.
Most authorities agree that the HPV virus seems to be difficult to pass along to others, but even this is a guess ... but the oral strain is not contagious
The issue of immunity is also unresolved. A single lesion is all that most patients ever develop.
Combine tobacco and alcohol with HPV, and you may have the formula for the development of an oral cancer (throat not tongue).

so i got a cough on like thursday night itno friday morning, which is most likely from allergies because the weather around here has been fluctuating on and off. friday night, i smoked hookah (with tobacco) .. and my cough kinda got worse. it was stupid to do, i know, considering my cough but theres nothing i can do about it now. so my mom said if it doesnt get better in a few days i have to go to the doctor. would the doctor be able to tell that i smoked? i really didnt do it for that long, but i just want to know if he would be able to tell. obviously i dont want him or my mom knowing. but the whole thing began with my allergies im pretty sure. (link)
|
To really measure/test a person for smoking takes a carboxyhemoglobin and methhemoglobin detector. A co-oximetry is not a typical test to run. Or the Dr. could test your urine with the dipstick NicoMeter method.
If your mom suspects you of smoking - she could request a test. But just a simple cough should not raise suspicions with the Dr. to test you for smoking.

I need some unique ideas on ways to ask a girl to prom! Please help ASAP! (link)
|
A guy in my class got his buddy to walk into class singing a song and playing his guitar, while he carried in balloons and asked her to prom. Lots of kids taped it on their phones.
There is always the writing on her car windows.
I had a guy do a scavenger hunt for my friend. He was waiting for her at the end with a sign in a park. She had to follow the clues to about 5 different places. He enlisted the help of one of his buddies and me in case she got lost or confused.
One guy asked me to a dance by coming to my house with a song playing on a boom box/radio, and he had a sign he made. His friend held the boom box/radio.
I have seen cups spell it out in a chain link fence.

i like being there for my friends, ill try to listen and give advice when my friends are in trouble. but the thing is im not good at advice because im more of a listener so its not really helping my friends so i feel really bad when it wont solve their problem, people say i dont need to fix their problem i know that, but i wanna at least know what to say when they're in trouble how can i be better at giving advices? (link)
|
Actually, you ARE helping your friends by just listening!
A lot of people don't really WANT advice, they want someone to just listen to them and agree with them! lol
Ask questions ... as they answer the questions and talk through the problem, they work towards figuring out what it is they want to do. They probably already KNOW what to do, but are hoping to come up with a different solution.
Also, give your friends confidence affirming statements. Let them know they can handle whatever is bothering them, and that they will feel better/do better soon.
I also suggest reading some self-help books...watching programs on TV (like Dr. Phil)to pick up hints and tips on how to help someone work through an issue.

I have this really embarrassing problem..I'm a female in my early 20's and I have a flatulence problem. I don't know why or what is wrong. I pass gas about 5 times more than the average person. (lol) Ugh, put it this way I must pass gas about 70 times a day. I can control it and everything but if I hold it in I feel like .. I'm going to blow up (haha..) but anyway I really need some advice I don't know what to do. Is it a medical problem? Should I see a doctor? :/
Thanks (link)

Soda's can affect some people this way. Consuming any beverage that contains gas (what else is the carbonation but gas?) can cause you to have gas. It may not be all soda's, but just certain soda's.
Also, gum chewing, talking while chewing, gulping foods and drinking with eating can cause us to swallow air. Bulky foods such as lettuce, cabbage, and dense breads not chewed into small enough pieces increase swallowed air. This can cause gas too.
Most common foods that cause gas:
* Carbonated beverages
* Spicy, fried or fatty foods
* Broccoli, cabbage, onions
* Beans
* Apple or prune juice
* Dried fruits
* Anything containing sorbitol, mannitol or maltitol, found in many low-carb or sugar-free foods.
Two products on the market can help with food-related gas and bloating. Both products are packaged forms of the enzymes needed to break down the problematic carbohydrates.
Lactase, found in products such as Dairy Ease and Lactaid, can be taken with dairy foods to help break down lactose and lessen gas.
Beano helps digest the indigestible carbohydrate in beans and other gas-producing vegetables.
You should seek medical attention when there is an increase in frequency, location or severity of the symptoms, or if they are accompanied by weight loss, diarrhea, vomiting or heartburn.

Hey, i want to get my cartilage pierced...
On my left ear, i have 2 holes on my lobe
On my right ear, i have 3 holes on my lobe
which ear should i get the cartilage done on? and also...does it hurt? because i barely even felt the piercing on my lobe so yeah...THANK YOU (link)
|
Yes it hurts. I had it done and it hurt when a slight BREEZE touched it. I took VERY good care of mine, no infections. It took 6 weeks to heal. You can't leave the earring out ONE night or it will 'shrink'.
DO NOT GO TO A MALL PIERCER!!!!
Find a tattoo pallor that does by piercing, or a Dr. office that does cartridge. GET RECOMMENDATIONS.

my mom wont let me dye my hair.
im 16 years old and i can think for myself
and she doesnt get that. everyone dyes there hair these days and i still cant.
i dont understand why i cant. i get highlights
and my mom dies her hair. so i dont understand why i cant.
she keeps telling me its the biggest mistake. and youre gonna have to keep redoing it. blahblahblah
i have blonde hair. but my hair used to be sooooo much blonder. that my hair is like practically like brown. and i hate it.
i want to go like one shade lighter and she wont let me.
any suggestions? (link)
|
This is experience talking....
If you are wanting to go LIGHTER, then you aren't dying your hair, you are lightening it. For an 'all over' color, this is VERY hard on your hair and doesn't look good. The roots also show VERY VERY fast,(within weeks) and it IS high maintenance. It also gives you that all over, one color, 'helmet head' look.
If you are going DARKER-then that is dying your hair an there are some excellent 'semi-permanent' colors out there. They wash out and aren't so hard on your hair.
Since you already get highlights ... I suggest getting TWO shades of blond highlights - blond and blonder, and do a heavy/all over highlight instead of a partial highlight. You can get a really blond look doing heavy, all over highlights. Plus the roots don't show as quickly as they do if you do an all-over color. You can also alternate getting partial highlights one month, and all-over highlights the next.
Stay away from that sun-in crap. It will dry your hair out, turn it orangeish, and you will be cutting it off.

lately i have been thinking about what career i want.i want to something that helps others, to tell you the truth, money doesn't concern me too much. That point of view may change as i get older, but i don't really think so.i've never really been in things for just the money. but aNyWaY... what i have been motivated to do is help people in other countries.one night i just thought about it and looked up some pictures and, the pictures actually made me cry.these situations that people in other countries are in for some reason really get to me and touch me in a way that nothing ever has before. to think that i am so fortunate to take a hot shower at night, or go out for dinner and party when these people can't even feel safe where they live because their back yard is a battlefield makes me feel so angry.I know people can only do so much to help, but i have decided that i want to be one who tries.I would like to become a form of nurse, then eventually put in an application to "Doctors without Borders". I know i have a hell of a long way before this actaully happens, so i wanted to know what others think about this plan.I want to do it, and i know if i try it will happen. the only thing my home.My dad can barely take it if i'm more than a couple hours away from home, hell, if i ever went somewhere like Africa for a year I honestly think he would get sick while i was gone.NO JOKE.Part of me wants to do this for the lives of others, the other part can't bare the thought of family worrying over me. I feel soo tied down. i know this is probably way over the top because this hasen't even happend yet and i'm only 16, but i've just been thinking about it lately. what do you think? (link)
|
You won't be 16 forever. Your family may always worry about you...but they will eventually learn to let go.
Start local ... there are plenty of community service opportunities in your own back yard. I know it isn't as dramatic as immunizing orphans in Africa - but you never know how you may change someone's life.
For example: My brother was handing out sandwiches to the homeless downtown one evening, and he was in the right place to save a toddler from getting hit by a truck.
If your parents are 'afraid' for you to be in this environment, drag them with you. Hopefully as they do these types of activities they will start to see and understand your passion.
Check out opportunities at local churches too. They often have community work on weekends that is local. It may be as simple as cleaning out someone's yard, or shopping for the elderly, but you are still contributing. Most churches also have a 'mission trip' every summer for their HS students. Ours goes to Honduras every year. I know of another that goes to Mexico, and another that goes to the Appalachia mountains. Again, your parents can go as chaperons if they fear for your safety.
See if your area needs a 'meals on wheels' volunteer. Sign up as a volunteer with the Red Cross. Find out if a ESL teacher needs an assistant.
Maybe you can't do what you want RIGHT this minute, but you can start taking the steps now. Volunteer at the hospital so you can get an idea about what Dr. and nurses do. Take a red cross safety course.
Go to college and GET that nursing or Doctor degree. Then if your heart is still in the same place when you are 21...you will have the experience and education to follow your dream.

so last night my bf for over 2 and a half years dumped me because he says he doesnt know what he wants and that hes not happy. and that he wants his old life back before he met me. He also told me him and his ex are good friends now and that he was hiding it from me. I've been crying ever since and have this feeling in my stomach that wont go away. I guess its what a broken heart feels like. He broke up with me on the phone but told me he wanted to wait until this weekend but i told him no. I really need some advice and help to how i can get over him faster and be happy again. Oh and if this feeling is a broken heart. (link)
|
Everyone has given you great advice. I am sorry you have to go through this pain.
Two and a half years! Just getting past the habit of having him around will feel odd!
So - let's look at the opportunity in this. This is your time to grow and just be yourself, or at least find out who 'you' are when it is just 'you'. There are probably parts of your life you have molded and compromised to fit into a relationship.
Now is YOUR time to focus on yourself. Have you been wanting to change your hair color? Go short, curly, straight?
Can you do something different with your make-up, clothes, routine?
Have you wanted to join a gym, try yoga, karate, horseback riding, backpacking or skydiving?
Take a road trip, try something new, eat something different ... CHANGE.
Now is your chance to do these things without anyone telling you you shouldn't or can't. You don't have to filter your thoughts or actions in consideration for someone else. Let yourself be the tiniest bit selfish and nurturing towards your own wants.
You will still need to go through the pain ... that is just part of the grieving and letting go. But at least you will feel like you have SOME control over your life while you do it.

This is what I did when this happened to me one time...I got these Bunion Cushions Foam things by Dr. Scholls. You can find them anywhere in the pharmacy department, probably by the bandages.
They are a soft foam circle with a hole in the middle.
Put neo or something on your scrape, but JUST the scrape so your skin stays clean. If you find a cream with a pain killer, that is better. Put the circle of foam AROUND the scrape. Then put a band aid over the foam circle. This way it doesn't touch your scrape and neither does your shoe.
This will cushion it a little bit so hopefully you can make it through the try-out. Bring spares to make changes between performances. Bring spare socks too.
Also - be sure to Dr. it tonight (clean and neosporin). Protect it from getting bumped again. You will be surprised at how much better it will feel in the morning.
It also wouldn't hurt to take a dosage of pain killer about 30 minutes before try-outs too.
Good luck.
