Honestly, the tolerance for pain is different for everyone. But then again, location also effects what you feel as well. So it may hurt, and it may not. It's never really a sure thing because everyone is different.

As far as which ear to get it done on, that all really depends on your preference. I would probably say your left ear to even it out because you only have 2 there, and 3 on your right.

Also, go to a professional parlor because they're usually the only ones who know what they're doing (besides doctors), and they'll make sure to give you special care instructions as they do with all piercings.

this probably isn't what you want to hear but yeah mine hurt and it was a pain to sleep for the healing process without laying on it, but i got mine done at an ear piercing place so i recommend that you go to a piercing/tattoo place to get it done because they do a better job. oh and i would go with the left ear :)

Yes it hurts. I had it done and it hurt when a slight BREEZE touched it. I took VERY good care of mine, no infections. It took 6 weeks to heal. You can't leave the earring out ONE night or it will 'shrink'.

DO NOT GO TO A MALL PIERCER!!!!

Find a tattoo pallor that does by piercing, or a Dr. office that does cartridge. GET RECOMMENDATIONS.

There is a high rate of infection associated with cartilage piercing. That said, I wouldn't have it done, but if you insist, make sure you have it done by a reputable, clean professional and you have lots of personal references for his/her work.

I've heard it's quite painful, but everyone has a different pain threshold.
