As far as which ear to get it done on, that all really depends on your preference. I would probably say your left ear to even it out because you only have 2 there, and 3 on your right.
Also, go to a professional parlor because they're usually the only ones who know what they're doing (besides doctors), and they'll make sure to give you special care instructions as they do with all piercings. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]

maddiec123 answered Friday March 20 2009, 1:18 am: Yes it hurts. I had it done and it hurt when a slight BREEZE touched it. I took VERY good care of mine, no infections. It took 6 weeks to heal. You can't leave the earring out ONE night or it will 'shrink'.
Eldritch answered Friday March 20 2009, 12:40 am: There is a high rate of infection associated with cartilage piercing. That said, I wouldn't have it done, but if you insist, make sure you have it done by a reputable, clean professional and you have lots of personal references for his/her work.
