I have cheerleading tryouts this weekend, and our tumbling tryouts are tomorrow. today i was running to my car and scraped my toe on the concrete and it cut open and started bleeding. a bunch of my skin was ripped off. its on like the tip of my toe, right where my cheer shoes push the hardest against! it hurts to walk, so how will i tumble! any suggestions how to make it feel better before tumbling or how to wrap it up?! THANKS!!
They are a soft foam circle with a hole in the middle.
Put neo or something on your scrape, but JUST the scrape so your skin stays clean. If you find a cream with a pain killer, that is better. Put the circle of foam AROUND the scrape. Then put a band aid over the foam circle. This way it doesn't touch your scrape and neither does your shoe.
This will cushion it a little bit so hopefully you can make it through the try-out. Bring spares to make changes between performances. Bring spare socks too.
Also - be sure to Dr. it tonight (clean and neosporin). Protect it from getting bumped again. You will be surprised at how much better it will feel in the morning.
It also wouldn't hurt to take a dosage of pain killer about 30 minutes before try-outs too.

for tryout i would recommind jus telling the captain of coahc.. or someone on the squad... i dont know if you high school cheer or allstar cheer so sorry if im offending you hehe =)
i wud also try padding you cheer shoe out... like if it was me i would try and put some toilet paper - clean obviously... in the bit of the shoe where your toe is pushed against it =)

That could have been more than a toe injury.
Make sure you disinfect the cut first, then try not to wear anything on your feet so the cut can breathe and heal.
Tomorrow, before putting on your shoes, clean the cut again and apply an an anesthetic cream... but read this first:
