chemically straightening, and dying hair... my hair is curly and i want to get it chemically straightened. but i also would like to lighten it a bit. my hair is dyed dark brown right now, but my natural color is more of a golden brown. i want to get that color back. my question is which one should i do first? Chemically straighten it, or lighten it up? and can i do them both without completely killing my hair...? all answers are appriciated. thanks in advance. please help!

I have dyed my hair and it is still healthy. My hair is also curly so I wanted to chemically straighten too. I talked to my professional hair stylist about it and she said she would NOT recommend it because it destroys the hair. So waht I did was just invest in a really good straightner. ]
okay this is what i do i put the color on my hair ether to weeks before or more or two weeks after try to do you relaxer in the middle of that process because if you do it all in the same day then you are going to kill your hair ]
I have had my hair chemically straightened and later colored and/or lightened many many times. Be sure to have both processes done by a professional.
You need to do the straightening first. If you do the color first the straightening process could strip off the color or dull the highlights.
After the straightening, wait 2 weeks and then have the color or highlights done. Be sure to tell the person doing your color/highlights about the straightening so they can be extra gentle. ]
