On this question you are just going to get everybody's personal opinion, and my opinion is that you made the right choice. Ditching your friends for your boyfriend never seems to work out well in the end... I mean, usually friendships last MUCH longer than any sort of romantic relationship. Look at it this way, your best guy friend could be your friend for the rest of your life, but your boyfriend probably wont be. (Obviously most high school relationships dont end in marrige- in fact, most dont even last past highschool.) High school relationships last months or years at the most. [I assume you are in highschool?] So yes, I think you made the right choice. You're too good for any guy who makes you make choices like that anyways! Stick with your best friends... and maybe you two can get back together someday!

Holy smokes, am I the person to talk to about braces and expansion and surgery all related to the upper jaw. I am only 16, but I started all my treatment at age 13, when I was (according to my orthodontist- who was wrong) done growing. I had three expanders, from ages 13-15, and my upper jaw was sucessfully widened. and yes, when you have an expander, you usually have braces too. I dont know if it would still work at your age, but I would strongly suggest you at least try, as theres no harm in trying even if it dosn't work.



But, I must tell you the most important thing that I have learned from all the crap that I've been through is that ALL DOCTORS HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS- AND NOBODYS IS REALLY RIGHT OR WRONG. I had an upper jaw surgery a month ago where they broke my upper jaw and moved it forward because I had a small underbite. Well, my orthodontist thinks any underbite, no matter how small, requires surgery. Another doctor we went to thought that mine was small enough that I didn't need it. A good friend of my parents who is an oral sergeon said it was essential to my health. My dentist promised I'd be fine without it. And me and my parents went in circles with EVERY ONE OF THEM about whether this surgery was simply cosmetic or is there really really really somthing serious that needs to be prevented. (Because obviously my parents aren't going to get me surgery if its cosmetic and non-manditory) My point is, every doctor I saw had a different oppinion, and none were exactly right or wrong. We finally just had to pick one guys plan and roll with it. So if one doctor tells you its not possible, leave and find one that will at least TRY, not give up before even trying. (Because my idiot orthodontist thought I was done growing at 13, and therefore didn't get me night headgear that would have solved the problem. Now that im 16 and six inches taller, I'm lying around eating mashed potatos and apple sauce because I'm not allowed to chew for 6 weeks after the surgery!)

Oh, and dont let anyone tell you you "HAVE TO" have surgery. It sucks and try try try every single option before.

I think the whole situation was bad from the begining. I mean, nobody ever HONESTLY says "I really like [your friend's name], but since she said no, well now I guess I like [your name]!" That dosn't make sense. Its not like as soon as you get rejected by somone you suddenly dont like them anymore. Crushes dont work like that. And then you dont just suddenly like a new person. If he was rejected by your friend and very soon after asked you out, (please dont take offense to this!) well, it sounds like he was desperate or somthing. He just wanted somone, no matter who it is. Therefore, it should be no suprize that he still likes her, I mean, he DID ask her out FIRST. So I would say, based on the situation, he does like your friend. He is mad at you for asking because he is going out with you and I'm sure he wants your trust. If you want to know if hes mad at you, why dont you ASK HIM. If you are dating him, you should easilly be able to talk to him! If you break up, I think it would be rude to go out with his friend. That would be doing the exact same thing to him as he did to you, (dropping one person and picking up another in a snap) and look how upset you are about it! If you even care about your boyfriend a little bit, you would want to spare him the kind of pain you are in now.

Ok, First let me explain what I do with my hair and my understanding of the subject: I went through this all about a year or so ago when my friend and I decided that we wanted a streak of pink or blue in our hair.

Well, I have about medium brown hair, and if I put some semi-permanent pink or blue dye on my regular brown hair, it will not show up very well, the color wont be bright. In order to get a bright color on your hair, you need a blond streak. Its like, if you paint on a white peice of paper, its going to show up best and be true color as opposed to if you were to paint the same color on a black peice of paper, you wouldnt be able to see it as well.

Sooo, Me and my friend searched all over for a non-permanent way to get blond streaks into our hair and this is the conclusion we came to after discussing it with my hairdresser: All products that LIGHTEN your hair in any way contain BLEACH. Bleach actually strips your hair of its pigment (color). This is different than hair DYE, which simply puts a layer of color over your hair (even if it is "permanent"). Even "permanent" hair dye will fade a bit, but once you bleach your hair, and the pigment has been litterally stripped off your hair, there is no way to get your natural color back except to grow it back out.

So that entire paragraph summarized in two sentences:
You BLEACH your hair to lighten it, and you DYE your hair to darken it. Bleach is ALWAYS PERMANENT (as it literaly strips your hair color), and Dye is permanent or not, just depending on the strength.

So my conclusion is NO, there is no NON-PERMANENT way to dye all your hair blond. Because technicly you dont use dye to make your hair blond, you use bleach.

But..... Ok. If you want your hair blond for now but you want it back to its original color later (whether it be brown, black, or red) What you can do, is go to a salon, and have all your hair bleached blond. (Or you could get a self-beaching kit at a drug store, but those are risky and they never seem to turn out right. I highly suggest not using them and getting anything using bleach done by a professional.) And your blond hair will be permanent, in the sense that its not going to like fade to your origional color after a while. BUT, when you want your hair color back, you can just get some hair dye and dye it back. Its impossible to match the exact color, but like I said, having blond hair is like a blank palate, so you can clearly dye it any color. So that is what you would have to do if you want blond hair now but then get back your origional color.

This seems really long and may include some unnececary info, but this really is my complete understanding of the subject.

I really have never heard of a non-permanent blond streak, unless its like spray-on, which will wash out in the next shower. The only way to lighten your hair is to use bleach, and any product that lightens your hair contains bleach. Thats my understanding, as I have a couple of streaks myself. The only way to get I guess MORE blond in your hair would be to go to the salon and get more or get a self bleaching kit and do it yourself, but both those things are permanent. If you do this and need it to go away, you can always dye your blond streaks brown in a couple of months. Its not really good for your hair to dye it alot, but I think you should be fine. But no, I really dont think there is a non-permanent way to dye your hair blond.

Heres just one tip:
Look at it this way. If you were a young female teacher and you had male students hitting on you, You would NOT be putting up with that for this long; you would have reported this by now- it's blatant sexual harassment! I would just discuss it with somone from the guidance department, because trust me, I'm sure they have delt with stuff like this before! (I'm a high-school girl- I see this go on ALL THE TIME!) I just feel like you should alert guidance before this situation runs out of control, because this particular girl seems to be especially pushy and not about to quit.

I watched this episode. If I'm not mistaken, The girl was sort of a tomboy, she played basketball and wore sweat pants and t-shirts all the time and never worke make up or anything. The first thing they did was take her shopping and bought her shirts that were like v-neck blouses with collers and nicer pants and stuff and that was a big part of it. Then they just loaded her up with a bunch of make-up (that she had previously never worn) and then she had like, I dont know, pagent lessons? Like how to walk, talk and whatever while being really poised, classy, and intelligent. So yeah, how did they make her look so different and beautiful? New clothes and make-up.

I would just ask Caleb if hes looking for a lead singer, and if hes not, ask him if he knows any other bands who are. (Kids in bands often know all the other kid bands around, so he may happen to know another band looking for a lead.) If this dosn't work, maybe you would consider starting your own band since you DO write the songs, becuase if you join somone elses band, its a whole different story trying to get them to use YOUR material.(they prob. have thier own!) If you start your own band, you're going to need at least one guitarist, prob 2, and a basist and a drummer- thats pretty standard format. (Or I dont know if you want to be like Paramore, mimic their format, Im not farmiliar with them so I dont know) maybe a keyboardist? Do you have any friends who play these instruments? Ask them if they want to do it, and if they dont, ask them to direct you to some kids who would, becuase they might know some. I dont know if you know any kids like that, but Caleb would definately be a good start.

OK- so however you get into/form your band, the only way to get known is performance performance performance. Play at every possible oppertunity- School talent shows, Battles of the Bands, like if your town/city has like a carnival, festival type thing... even if any of your friends are just having a party, ask them if they want a live appearance of your band. And like the other person said, Myspace music pages are golden. Get one ASAP for your band and upload music as soon as possible. Just get your bands name out everywhere. (And by everywhere, I mean like your school and community)

Since you're 14, If you are still in middle school, I just want to say that in my personal experience, the performing op's and partys didn't really start till high school, and if youre in highschool, you already know that!

So getting a band and performing locally as much as possible is the start, but honestly Ive never personally known a band to make it any further than that- so you'll need somone elses advice on how to get a recording contract.

I have been in a few bands as a small part or as a step-in, and tons of my friends are in student bands, so I hope I've thoroughly explained how to at least start out on your career! If you have anymore questions, just ask- I love answering questions about music and making it!

You can only get pregnant when you are ovulating or whatever, which im not sure exactly which days but its somewhere around half way between periods. If your period is going to start tomorrow, its not really the time of the month you can get pregnant- but people get pregnant off the schedule all the time. No, I think the problem IS with Facebook. I know because my friend is a photographer, so he's got an excellent camera that takes crystal clear pictures. He loads them all on to facebook, but then puts a note under every single one of them that Facebook has blurred his picture, and then he puts a link to another website he uses to display his photography so you can see it there, less blury. And it is a HUGE difference between the one on Facebook and the same picture on the other webiste he uses. (The other one he uses is an art display website though, so they would take special care to preserve the sharpness of the pieces people upload.) So don't worry, you aren't crazy- other people are noticing Facebook's bad photo quality too.

#1. i just cleaned mine with alcohol for about 4 months, and quit when i knew it was completely healed. i knew it was completely healed when i had no redness, and it didn't hurt at all no matter how i twisted and turned it.

You know, I really don't think they were making fun of you for being Jewish, i think they are making fun of you for not knowing your own holy book. So, IF they had been making fun of you for being Jewish, yes, you have a right to be offended. (you should be proud of your heritage and your ancestors.) But they were'nt making fun of you for being Jewish, they were making fun of you for claiming to be Jewish but not knowing one of the simplest things about it. Please be offended if they were making cracks at any of your ancestors who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their religion, but if I were you, I'd be a little ashamed of yourself for not even knowing basics like that. Learning a little would show some respect for both your faith as well as everybody who has given their life to keep it alive.

first of all, dont let any outside influences affect you when you're considering your sexuality. i'm talking about your parents, peers, the media, whatev. because, if you think you might be gay, well then you just might be gay. it dosnt make sense to say, "i have tendancies towards my own gender... but my parents would kill me if im gay. so im not." you're not gay or straight because other people do or dont want you to, you're gay because of your own thoughts, emotions and feelings.

also, about never having liked a guy before: alot of psycologists who study this kind of stuff would say that if you rated your sexuality on a scale of 1 to 10, you'd be somwhere in between. research sigmund freud... he would say that a 1 or a 10 is extremely rare. so yeah, everybody's got a bit of homosexual woven into our very complex personalities. its really likely that you just really like him in a friend kind of way and really want to get to know him better.

I think you are just the right age to be getting into this kind of stuff, but not too much. I'm only 16, so that was just a couple of years ago for me, and looking back, all those relationships were just silly. I know girls that age want to be mature and hang out with guys, and its hard for your mom to understand that, because it was alot different when she was that age. I suggest to ask your mom if you can have a friend over (without specifying if its a guy or girl- and its not like you're lying- because you really are just friends!) Then when he gets there, introduce him to your mom, and then do activities around your house in plain sight of your mom. (ex. watch a movie right in the middle of the living room, not alone in the basement or whatever, or eat a meal in the kitchen, or board games or videogames or whatever you do, make sure your mom can always keep an eye on you.) converse with your mom while hes over, and get him involved in the convo too. finally, she may be able to see that in this day and age, girls and boys hang out casually at this age. after doing this a couple of times, she may finally trust you to go to his house, and offer for her to call his mother when you are over there to make sure that you are indeed there and there is parental supervision. then maybe eventually you will be able to hang out by yourselves at the strip mall or whatever. you have to gain both parents trust bit by bit.

And also, I want you to know that its refreshing to be able to look on this site and have a thirteen year old girl asking questions about hanging out with guys. It seems like so many questions now are like 13 year old girls worrying about being pregnant, which is absolutely ridiculous.
