Long story short, I'm from Los Angeles, went to an amazing school, left the US and moved to the Middle East. I've been backpacking around Europe and the Middle East on and off since August 2013.

I have damaged my vocal chords pretty bad from over-singing and over-using them the past couple years. I am a singer& I have a show coming up in about 1 1/2 weeks.

i have two questions but if you can only answer one thatll be ok! first off im 16 and a sophomore.

1- i was wonderin how much harder are AP courses than advanced? i took 9th and 10th advanced literature and i was recommended for AP liturature next year and was wondering how much more of a struggle it honestly is?

2- im really worried that i wont survive in college. i make mostly all a's and an occasion b on report cards in regular & advanced classes, but the thing is, i dont really learn much! i memorize information, pass the tests because of that, soon forget it, but usually do all my homework, therefore i get high grades. i dont really try to do this, but it jus kinda happens. i zone out and stuff so yeah + if its not an interesting subject i just can not learn it. is that going to affect me a whole lot in college? im scared of flunking out especially since i want to try to get into a major university!

AP courses are of college caliber. They are usually based mainly on tests, and go much faster than regular classes would.

As are AP classes, college grades are mainly based on tests and essays.You don't even need to go to class.

You choose the classes that you take in college, so just pick ones that interest you.

well my bf lives about 4 hours aways and i dont know what to get him for valentines day. and today he told me he missed my perfume. so i was thinking of buying a 2 ounce bottle of my perfume as a reminder of me and then i'll buy him something else too. do you think the perfume idea is a cute idea? i'd like a guys opinion too. thanks

Make him a pillow case and spray your perf/ume on it. Give him some perfume so that he can always smell you.

is it true? i need to kno how to get rid of the spyware that is messin up my comp. my friend told me it was aim b/c he had somebody fix his computer and find viruses. does anyone kno how? i dont think i can afford to have my entire comp fixed over. thanks

ok well i recently asked a question about something, then when i logged on it said somebody answered it. It said (1) so I clicked on it to see what my answer was but there was nobody who answered it. I was just blank.
Also if it helps, I got an email from advicenators (noreply) and it said that your advicenators question has been answered. So why did it say somebody answered my question, but when i look at it, there's no answer?

ive got acne and its actaully getting better but i want it to clear up. Ive been using proactiv and it gets better all the time, but i was wondering if where you have the acne affects how you get it? Like if somebody has bangs thats usually why they have acne on theyre forhead, becuase it gets sweaty and so on. Well i have it like on my cheeks like collarbone i guess, could i do something to stop it and prevent further breakouts?

Give Proactiv time. I have it, too, and it's done miracles.

My room was painted last summer. But, I have to admit that I'm not to fond of the color. And I also noticed my parents didn't put much effort into it at all - theres a small blotch of paint on the floor, and on the very top and bottom of the wall, you can see the color they painted over. And I also said I wanted a color like a light baby blue, but they gave me more a color like a dull robins egg which I'm not very happy about.

I want to ask my parents if I can redecorate my room. Can anyone give me color schemes and great places for crazy furniture? (Like chairs and stuff. I got new dressers recently which I just plan on adding accesories to it)

I want my room to be OFF THE WALL. I want it to be absolutly crazy that its great to hang out in! I want it to be fun and a place you can just go to when you are sad and it will perk you up with it's crazyness. I was picturing 2 walls to be one color, and the other two walls to be another color. I CANT spend a lot of money. I think that the most drastic thing I'm doing to my room basically is that I WANT a wooden floor with a crazy rug that covers like it except for about 4 feet from the corners. Okay. My biggest wall is a deep, hot pink, and the others are ballet slipper pink. Don't do 2 and 2. 1 and 3 works better.

All of my furniture is white. It is so modern. I love it.

Just get new carpet. I have a 2 inch navy shag carpet. It is so soft, and my friends looove it.

I think that a mural of a flower on one wall and nothing else on the walls would be really cool. You can do that yourself by renting a projector and projecting an image onto the wall, and then painting it.

I also have orange sheets.

I get ssooo many compliments on my room when I have people over.

Another thing that one of my friends did is she got a really low bed (no box spring) and she put pillows along the wall part of her bed so it's like a sofa. That'd be cool if you always have people over.

Is O.K. if I have a medium/light flow and I use a super tampon to last me all day? From say 7:00 in the morning to about 9:00 at night? I've been forced to do this before and the whole thing wasn't even soaked yet...

anyone please this is not that long and i really need help. Sometimes my parents can be complete IDIOTS. im not allowed to go skiing because My dad SAYS that im going to get hurt. I cant do an article for school on RAPE because my mom doesnt like it and now i have to stay up to research another one AND memorize it. (btw im 13/f) These stupid choices of my parents are making me depressed and i even cut myslef because of it. I cant have a boyfriend untill im 17, i cant wear a tampon yet, MY MOM DOESNT ACCEPT THAT IM GROWING UP. IVE TREID TALKING TO HER ABOUT THIS BUT SHE WILL NOT LISTEN. I actually just redid my room. My color scheme won't work with your comforter, but maybe it will give you ideas.

One wall, the biggest one, is painted a deep fuschia, and the others are painted a very light pink. My comforter matches, and all of my furniture is white.

I think it'f be really cool to do EVERYTHING but the CDs and comforter in white. White walls and furniture. This way, the colors would really pop. :)

I strained a muscle in my foot a few months ago.

it started hurting pretty bad again. Now when
I move my toes up and down, the muscle feels

vibrating feeling. My dad felt it and thought
nothing of it. But its worrying me, what could

You should see your school nurse, or a doctor. No one here can diagnose you, but it needs to be checked out. Good luck.

13/f. My mom brought me to her hairdresser saying how great she is. Well I've always wanted my hair down to my elbows but someone ALWAYS talks me into cutting it differently so I've NEVER had hair and longer past the sleeves on a short sleeve shirt. And I had sidebangs also, and my hair looked fine the awy it was.

Then she cuts my bangs across my forehead!! Relaly short! And she angled my hair and it looks TERRIBLE. My hair isnt even past my SHOULDERs now.

Everytime I look in the mirror I start crying, And I cant believe I let my mom talk me into this. I'm crying as I type this, I hate my hair so much. I can only wear my hair with a headband because I can't even pull it into a ponytail. And it looks horrible with nothing in it.

I donteven want to look at my self, I'm completely disgusted with it.

I dont even want to go to school tomorrow. Because some of my friends insult everything I do, so I try to avoid them but they still manage to insult me. I dont know what to do.

I need to know how to get myhair to grow FAST also. It cant be a ponytail because my hair doesnt work with a ponytail right now.Any shampoos that work REALLY WELL PLEASEE give me the name and where to get it. You just have to let time take its course. I suggest pinning back your bangs into a pouf. If they're too short for even that, then spray your hairbrush with hairspray, put gel in wet hair, and get some of your hair to go with your bangs.

I personally wouldn't have paid for a haircut I didn't like. I would have made them fix it.

this upcoming friday i'm going to a private gymnastics lesson, is there anything i should know in advance? i'm learning my backhand spring cause i need it for cheerleading next year.

I DOUBT that you will get a back handspring in one lesson.

Stretch (straddles, splits as far as you can go) to get your splits. I had them, but I lost them.

Same with toe touches.

For the back walkover, stick your nose out and rock out towards your nose an eensy weensy bit.

If you have more specific questions, let me know. I was a gymnast for 7 years, but I quit due to injury. Gymmnastics messes you up.

My cousin is an overseas national currently studying the final year of high school in Australia. Her mother has recently moved to the USA and wants my cousin to study a bachelor's degree in California, to be closer to their new home.

All the way on the other side of the globe, my cousin and I think that my cousin will have to apply for US universities with her secondary qualifications in Australia, which means as an international student, right? Yet she would really be a permanent resident in status. Is there any disadvantage being treated as an international student?

Also, regarding degrees:
- how expensive? Are degrees typically subsidised by the government, and if so, by how much?
- how long does the application process to a university take? (e.g. the maximum length of time?)
-how viable is it to have relevant classes done in an Australian university count towards an equivalent degree in an American university?

I realise there are a lot of questions and that they're all very broad, but even generalities will help at this stage, as we have little idea of how the American education system works. Even links explaining clearly how the system works would be wonderful.

She would most likely be considered a foreign student. It would be easier for her to get in, as many universities strive for diversity.

It REALLY depends on the school for prices. We have community colleges, which are about $80 USD per class.

If there is someone related to your cousin already living in California, then she miiiggghhhht get resident status. A California school will run you between $9,000 and $20,000 per year.

Private universities are usually about $30,000 per year or more.

Well, the application process, again, will differ per university. Getting a US visa will probably take a long time. I think it's a few years, but again, with a relative here, that might affect the amount of time. The actual application process for the 2007-2008 school year is pretty much over. Many applications are due within the next couple weeks, if they haven't already been due.

I have no idea as to the last question. I know that USA credits transfer there relatively easily, but I don't know about the other way around.

If she already has a bachelor's degree, though, that really doesn't matter, as long as she already has the degree. Again, all universities are different.
