You can buy Norton Anti-Virus Protection, but it can be expensive. Don't get me wrong, it's a great program and it works, but it doesn't stop the bad viruses and spyware sometimes. Especially, Trojans and Worms. However, there's always that chance of getting viruses and spyware, no matter the software installed.

You can get the protection free, with Windows Defender -- [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Norton anti-virus like the previous columnist said, most likely does not detect that. AIM does have spyware if it's downloaded on your computer, like a lot of programs. theres a brief explanation of this on wikipedia.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

AOL has a lot more spyware & other viruses, so if you had to choose AIM would be the better choice. i heard that if you do not download AIM it will be better for your computer. of course almost everyone uses AIM, so a quick fix to that would be meebo.

www.meebo.com

basically that is self explanitory. it's definately not as lame as AIM express & nothing needs to be downloaded. just type your SN & PW in the aim box [first one] & there ya go!

-hope that helped!♥

AIM doesn't have spyware, but you can get it by just browsing the internet. To remove most your spyware, go to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and download spybot: search&destroy. Then install it, update it, and run a scan. After you're done with spybot, go to [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and run the housecall scan. Your machine will then be free of 99.9% of malware. Be sure to always have an antivirus, like avast([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) and a firewall, like zonealarm([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) running.

AIM can allow others to send you viruses. Get Norton AntiVirus.
