Tampons

Question Posted Sunday January 21 2007, 8:55 pm

Is O.K. if I have a medium/light flow and I use a super tampon to last me all day? From say 7:00 in the morning to about 9:00 at night? I've been forced to do this before and the whole thing wasn't even soaked yet...
Is it O.K.?

You're keeping it in too long.

Never leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours or you risk Toxic Shock Syndrome. Also, if you take a tampon out after about 6 or more hours and it still has white showing, you are using too high an absorbency... it'll dry out your vagina :(

I dont think you should leave it in all day. You might catch something, and it might start to smell too.

NO.

You can get Toxic Shock Syndrome and actually die from that.

well your suppose to only have a tampon in for 4-8 hours so i dont think that would work.. cause if you leave it in for too long then you could get TSS

While there is nothing wrong with using a super absorbency tampon, you really shouldn't leave the same tampon in for serious risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. The higher absorbency the tampon and the longer you leave it in, the more risk you are posing to yourelf. I understand that you want to be able to have it in all day and not worry about it, but I think a better/safer choice would be to use a regular or super absorbency, but take it in after 8 hours. :)
