Vocal Chords I have damaged my vocal chords pretty bad from over-singing and over-using them the past couple years. I am a singer& I have a show coming up in about 1 1/2 weeks.
Anything to make the temporarily[sp?] better?

Drink hot tea, with honey and lemon, it helps soothe the throat. Try not to oversing, like, practice for about an hour every other day for about 5 or 6 days, and maybe only 10 minutes all the other days. Don't talk much, and before your show, don't have any kind of milk/dairy products, because they tend to produce more phlegm and make it harder to sing, which will put even more stress on your voice. ]
I worked at a haunted house in october so i was screaming at everybody who walked though, i damaged my vocal chords very badley so i know how to heal them, but just to let you know: it could take from a month to 6 months to get all your notes back.
Get Non-menthol cough drops, you know there non-menthol if you breath in and its not cold - if they are cold or almost that minty feeling spit em out.
Don't drink any pop or juice, theres allot of citric acids that ruin your voice.
Stop drinking/ eating any dairy products a day or two before the performance.
Dont yell at all, talk to people only who are an arms length away from you.
Clear your throught very softly
Dont sing for a week and try not to talk unless possible
schedule a 4 hour period everyday where you let everybody know your not going to say a word. just dont talk or laugh, rent a sad movie or somting.
