Okay, let's call him John.

This guy confuses me a lot!! Okay, so basically I met him this school year and we're friends but not the best of ones. He's a grade higher than I am but he's so likable!! All the girls drool over him and I'm afraid to say that I am one of them. But anyways

At the beginning of the year, there were two major times where we flirted nonstop and everyone was saying that he was all over me at a school thing. And at lunch he'd talk to me and look at me.

Now that there aren't any school event where I can hang out with him, I don't think he likes me anymore? I don't know. Before I got a strong feeling that he liked me but now I'm just confused. We haven't had much chance to talk to each other ...lunch maybe but he often debates with the other guys on politics..yeah I know nerdy..but cute.

When I was losing all hope, he said "You look depressed today,,usually when you're mad you look cute but you look depressed." or something like that and I was like..okay? Haha and when I asked for a hug he gave me one but today he only gave me a pat on the back...he said he thinks hes getting sick and doesnt want to get me sick...do you think that that is the real reason?


Anyways, does this guy like me or is his crush on me kinda over? Please tell me the truth even if it's brutal. I won't give anyone 1's..unless it didn't hlep me at all

Sure, he's fun to crush on, but if you don't
think he's going to like you constantly even
when you aren't in touch, it may just be a pitty flirting gig.

Try stepping up the flirting.
If you look sad or something and he asks again "Are you okay?" you can say "Not really, but I'm sure you could make me feel better." *then you can wink at him or just giggle*

If you want, you can keep this at a flirting stage, otherwise you could always play the jealousy card by flirting with other guys to get him to want you more. I don't really recommened that because I find it really rude, but it really works for others. But for now, I'd keep your options wide open and just enjoy flirting. Try not to jump all over him at every nice thing he does and get carried away with commitment, just take it slow. If things are meant to happen, they will.

Kay. So I`m preppy- polos, miniskirts A&F and pearls, the whole 9 yards. So.. I'm running out of outfits and styles, any ideas? I`ve done the polos & pearls... and the leggings & skirts.. and the uggs with jeans... oh and cashmere sweatersss... but I`m running out. I like to start trends, any good ones I could start at my school? I'm up for new looks- but im mostly preppy. PLEASE HELP.

If you're looking to start a 'trend' you have to do something new and "out there" leggings, a skirt, and Uggs aren't exactly new and out there, just to clear that up.

This is important: Just because something has Abercrombie, American Eagle, or Hollister on it doesn't make it instantly cute. You have to know how to put an outfit together, don't just wear all the hot labels. I wear a nice Hollister shirt with jeans from Target and get just as many compliments or more then I would if I just wore Hollister that day.

As for the trying new things. I've got a couple different things I do that people always tell me they love, so here they are. Try buying a longer plain colored polo and putting a colorful (coordinating) or patterned belt OVER the shirt about at your waist level. I do this alot, and it always seems to bring in compliments.

Also, try crazy patterned flats with a plain colored shirt (again, try a belt or a long hanging necklace)

Accessories can make or break the outfit. Go for coordinating (not tacky) necklaces, bracelets, rings, or earrings. Don't wear them all at once, try one or two at once.

As one person said below me you could try a long shirt with just leggings underneath. I also like wearing Victoria Secret sweatpants with a totally different color top.

Try getting into layering- go for a crazy pattern underneath a matching/coordinating shirt. I layer up to three/four shirts at a time, those also bring in compliments. Besure you don't over do it, stick to a matching color scheme, don't do every color of the rainbow in one outfit. (Ie: Try a flowered long sleeve shirt over a black polo with a white belt)

Remember, just because somethings 'in' doesn't mean its flattering to your body. Infact, I think its hillarious when people try the new styles and they don't fit right and just make them look tacky. If you think a shirt is totally cute but it doesn't fit you right, don't buy it, trust me it'll just waste your money.

For your hair, this could also make or break your outfit. If you wearing something more plain, make your hair curly or wavy, or try some new random style with it. If you're outfit consists of layers+accessories and such, try a straight low pony tail, or let your hair hang down. Mix it up though, this will also help with the style.



For shoes, vary it. Don't wear the same ones everyday. Flip flops in winter are a big no. They're super tacky. Try boots (not just Uggs, those get old FAST) of different shapes and sizes, try cute flats (they make tons of those) also try some cute tennis shoes or high heels. Mix these up too.

No, thats not too much.
Infact, I think it's perfect.
She's very lucky.

As for the ring, you can find some at Claire's.
Though, there jewlrey is rather "cheap" so if you want a litle bit better quality ring try a store like Kohls or JCPennys. (Don't get the ones on the showcases, go to the Junior Jewlrey section, if you take your mom she'll be able to show you were to get the cheaper ones.)

Love is a really big serious word.
It's not like you date a guy for a day and you automatically love him. I've been dating this guy for 5 months .. And I can't decide If I love him because I like him a lot ! A lot, I just dont know beacuse we're pretty young only 14 and It seems weird to use love like that. I think I love him, just when I say that.. it sounds too powerful

There is a famous quote "Love is never a number"
I read it in a poetry book once.
Since love isn't a number, age does not matter.
Age cannot define how you feel about someone, never forget that.

However, when you're in love you pretty much know it. It sounds like you're feeling the beginning of it. "Love is a discovery" therfore, you'll learn to love you're guy. Each and everyday you might find one more thing you like about him, making you fall more and more in love with him and who he is. Thats why I'm assuming you're in the beginning stages of love. You might still be unsure, but you feel the emotions.
You're totally right, love is powerful. Alot of people doubt whether it exsists, but I know it does and it deffinitley sounds like you do too. Embrace it, enjoy it, let yourself fall in love. :)

So once its Christmas time I will have been dating my boyfriend about a month and a half. I know its not very long but I wanna get him something for Christmas. I know he is going to get me something and I always feel bad if I have nothing to give in return to people, so any ideas? Thanks.

Try getting him a hoodie or hat with his favorites sports team's logo. You can fill the hat with his favorite candy or burn him a cd. A picture of you two in a frame would be cute, you could also put movie ticket stubs, or other small items from times you spent together in the frame. Or a DVD of his favorite movie would be nice. A giftcard to a store like blockbuster, American Eagle, or a sporting goods store would be excellent too.

If you give me a little more info about him, I could think of some more creative ideas. Just inbox me if you would like.
I don't recommened spending over $20 for the first Christmas.

i was wondering what is THE BEST hair straightener you have used. i dont care about prices i just want a really good quality hair straightener=].

This is just the question for me.
I've had about 8 flat irons myself.

I had a Helen of Troy Ceramic Series ($40-$50)
I loved it, my hair was amazingly straight,
however I've had it for about a year and now its falling apart. You can find them at Sally's Beauty Supplies in a gold&black box.

I've used my friend's Chi's and they worked great. However, they are quite pricey. (120$-190$)

Sedu's were voted the #1 brand.
But they are very hard to find. (140$)

I've tried Conairs, Wet2Straights and such
and found they were wastes of money. I do not recommened those at all.

I've picked up a few tricks from straightening my hair .. when straightening your hair
besure to use straightening mousse when hair
is damp, use heat protectant spray on bone dry hair right before you flat iron it, then seal the style with some light hairspray then combing it once to lock in the straightness. :)

I have medium brown curly/wavy hair that is just past my chin. I want to get natural looking highlights next weekend, but I'm also interested in getting a color.
I want the color to be just at the tips of my hair, not at the roots.
Should I still get some blond highlights too? Would I look too emo?
And I'm thinking of blue or purple for the color.

If you do go for the color I wouldn't recommened the blonde highlights. That would be a drastic change in itself, you don't need anymore highlights

If you do color the tips, you might risk the whole "emo/scene" label. I, myself wouldn't personally say much about your hair because I don't pay much attention to other people's hair colors. However, there will be one or two busybodies who might say something.

ok i have a very complictaed problem.
so i met this emo guy at my friend's church. let's call him jim*. so jim and i hit it off from the start, he's sweet, funny, and is very understanding, but about a year ago his girlfriend anna* broke up with him and he cut his wrists for a while, because he changed himself for her and loved her alot. he told me his whole story and after like 4 months, he asked me out. i said yes.but we broke up about a week after b\c i hadnt seen him since we met! i only saw his myspace pictures and talked to him on im and the phone maybe twice. he mainly broke up with me b\c od "distance"- he lives 45 mins away and goes to another school. after that he went back out with anna and some other girl stacy* then jim was single throu the summer. we didnt talk at all really after the break up- at one point we had no contact for 5 months! then, recently, all of a sudden, he IMed me and i said that he and i should talk more. i started to fall for him again. my friends talked to him for me as well and he told them that he liked me. so we started IMing and messaging on myspace. we arent at the pint of calling eachother yet, but heres my worries;some times when i send him a message, all he does is read and never writes back. and his now ex-girl friends are (i know this sounds upsessive) # 1 and 2 on his myspace top 8. he sees them at school and at church and i never get to see him. they ALWAYS call him and it worries me that, i dk, he may like one of them more than me. i really want him to be my boyfriend, but im scared about the long-distance, never-seeing-eachother-thing. plase help! i really want him to open up to me about his true feelings. thank you for reading this and thank you in advance!

I went out with a guy I'd met that same
day thru the internet, never even met him.

I'm just going to say, it usually doesn't last long. Most people need physical attraction to keep things interesting. (Ie: kissing, hugging)As for a young person (at which I'm assuming you are) online, long-distance relationships can be difficult and rarely work.

If you're willing to make things work.
Give it time, talk to him more. Take things slow.
Start out as friends and work from there.
Relationshis are always easier when friendships
have already been formed.

Guys are complicated and take time also.
So waiting for him to open up may take a while.
But if he does, be sure you're both up for
the challenge and trust each other enough to
make things work.

4. Fuzzy socks, slippers, or pj pants would be great too! (I get them on sale for as low as 5$ at stores like Kohls or JCPennys sometimes!)

Or, have one of your friends scope her out.
Maybe have them talk to her if they want and try

This is my 16th day on my period. Last month it lasted 14 days, and before that it was seven. I've had my period for a year and a half and I'm thirteen years old. I know that normal periods should last between 3-7 days, & mine has lasted 16 days. What could be wrong with me and what could I do? If I tell my mom she will probably make me go to the gynocologist, what will the gynocologist do?!

My best friend recently had a problem similar
to this, she just went to her regular doctor.
The doctor took some blood out of her arm and
ran some tests, turns out she had a more serious
problem relating to stress which caused her
to have very adnormal flow. But since she went
she was given the pill and her period is normal and she's healthy again. This is why I recommened you to go, just to check things out.

I recommened telling your mom and asking for a visit to the gyno/doctor. Who wants a period for 16 whole days? Its better the be safe then sorry.

I used to have this problem alot.
I guess I did it to see if I would really miss
him if he was gone. Most of the time I did miss him and we got back together. I didn't learn my lesson until one boy who I truly liked refused to go back out with me after I broke us up.

Give him a fair chance if you're up to it.
Don't obsess over him, because that could make bored with him. Just keep things light for a bit. If after a few weeks you aren't feeling anything, then truly decide if you want him or not. A kiss could really help you in this situation. If theres sparks, its a yes. Obviously if its just a flat kiss, its a no.
Just be sure you're happy with your choice.
Don't feel like you have to go along with it to
make him feel better since he likes you so much.

A best friend can help you tremendously in this sitch. She could probably tell you whether she sees the chemistry, cause in some cases we imagine things are perfect cause thats how we want them to be, not how they are. Make a list of the pro's and con's and weigh them out. Just be sure to think this over, its not right to play with his heart and you know it.

When the timings right, say something sweet
and kiss her. If she pulls away really quick

O.k. sooo, my boyfriend and I have been going out for about a week now. We've kissed, but havn't made out. I've never made out before. Everyone thinks I've made out before, even my boyfriend. The more you tense up, the worse off you'll be.
Just relax, kissing/making out is supposed to be fun.

Take it slow at first, just start with kissing. Then you can try sucking on or licking his lower lip. From there, he'll most likley put his tounge in, welcome it, don't fight it. Put your hands around his neck, on his face, or run them thru his hair. When you put your tongue in, you can lick his teeth, or you two can sort of rub your tounges together, or he might even suck on it. Don't let him have it all at once, slowly put your tounge in, then slowly pull it out and repeat everyone in a while. Try not to slobber too much, lol.

And trust me, I asked dozens of questions like this before I first made out and when I started making out, I didn't remember a single thing I had read, everything just sorta goes away.


If he's any good of a boyfriend, he won't care as much how well you kiss, he'll me more glad to teach you :)

when your bestfriend does nothing but drugs, and you've known her your entire life and that comes to a big shock when you find out what she does.. how do you act? because maybe i overreacted. i have taken this seriously, and under a lot of consideration. I have done nothing but tried to help her stop, but all she does is lie and push me away. So when i try walking away she crys and says im the only true friend she has. What happens when you feel nothing but used, and you feel like there only keeping you around cause they know your the one who said they`d always be there?. And now a month later she tells me she is diagnosed with a personality disorder and boarder line bipolar. what do i do now? do i forget everything she has put me through because of this? ... im so lost, and confused, and depressed and i just need someone else to tell me im wrong, and if i am then let me know, because i have run out of things to do. the only offer i canh give to her is be her friend.. but its so hard for me too do.

I'm answering this because I know exactly how you feel. My very best friend got caught up in alcohol and such over the summer and we sort of forgot about each other because no matter how hard I tried she refused to stop drinking. Then one night she brought alcohol to a football game, her and another girl drank all of it and when I saw her try to jump off the side of the stadium I got her mom. The police took them off and told us she could have died in less then 30 minutes from severe alcohol poisioning.

I told you that because I feel it relates. You can tell your friend to stop with the drugs all you want, most likley it'll push you two further apart. Stay with her, don't get involved with the drugs yourself and make sure she knows you're against them. But don't leave her; things will only get worse. Let her talk to you but don't pester her about drugs. Don't forget everythings shes done but do remember people make stupid mistakes. If things get to a point where serious action needs to be taken, let her mom know. You never know, you may be saving her life.

For our school we have to do a science fair project. I don't know what topic i should do so does anyone have any suggestions? I need to know asap. Thank you thank you thank you!

I'm not sure what grade you're in.
But my partner and I did our project on the effect of flavored water on carnations.
We just took four different flavors (raspberry, lemon, strawberry, regular) and watered the carnations for a week with them. We had to see which flower lived the longest.

Its simple and got it done and out of the way.
