In fitness magazines, I always see these women with this like on their abs. Ive been working on my abs alot lately and i just cant seem to get that line. Does anyone know what kind of workout your supposed to do to get it?

Do a warmup lap(s). About 1/4 or 1/2 a mile. Then do 100 crunches
Run several miles each day(I'd recommend around 5). If you can't do that, work your way up, but make sure once you get there, you are running(it should take you about half an hour).
Then do another 100 crunches
Rest a few minutes
Do 100 situps
Rest another few minutes
do 4x10 leg lifts, with a minute rest between each set.
Do all of the above 4 times a week, avoid junkfood and soda and you'll get very nice abs.

Ok, so I'm a 16, almost 17/m, and i'M ABOUT 5'9. I hate it. All of my friends are at least 6'. I really want to grow taller if i want to have a better chance at playing football in college. Are there any ways i can make myself grow taller, as crazy as it sounds?
Human growth hormone can add a few inches. but since you are already 5 9, there isn't much of a chance your doctor will prescribe it for you. Even if your doctor does, it's expensive.
Drinking whey protein or anything else with amino acids might help you grow a bit. Milk helps to. Since you are doing football, I'm also assuming you are lifting. Make sure you don't put too much stress on your back if you want to hope to grow any more. Stay away from the military press.
Be glad you're 5 9. I'm 5 6. There's a possibility I'm not even going to do varsity football due to my size.

so i'm on this diet thing... well it's not really a diet because it's healthy and safe... so it's more of an eating plan...
I stay between 1500-1800 calories a day...
and well, i get all shaky and feel like i'm about to die or black out or something when I can't have my food that I actually want- whether it's junk food or just pasta or something...
and i know there have to be days when you just plain don't think about what you're eating.
How often can I have these days?
once a week? twice? once a month? i just don't know
I would say probably once every two weeks.
But dieting isn't going to solve anything unless if you exercise. From what I think, diets are a way of cheating to get skinny and over time, it's not going to be as efficient as it was.

okay, so im hollisterlover09. and if you didnt know, i tore my ACL back in june, but had surgery two months later. iv been released since feb.15th.. and iv been doing gymnastics since then. well yesterday i went running to get into shape for basketball this summer. and after my hamstring hurt really bad, i thought it was b/c i hadnt ran in a long time like that. so tonight i went to gymnastics and need a back handspring, it was fine, then did another one and my knee hurt. so now when i straighten it, i have this pain like on the outside of my knee towards the top. its numb when i touch it and my hamstring hurts to.
so i was wondering, could i of torn my ACL again?. cause i know if you jump, and land with your knees straight, something will happen, but i didnt land with my knees straight.
or could i of just like pulled something from yesterday?.. please help ASAP..
Tearing your ACL is normally a permanent injury. it's ruined the sports careers of many athletes in all levels.
Are you sure you're even supposed to be back in sports?
if you are allowed to be back in sports, the pain is normal. Since it was such a bad injury to begin with, the pain will always be there when you exercise. I doubt you pulled your acl again but I also doubt the pain will go away.

Is this being a good friend?
- When your friend is sick at home, and you're at school, you call between every class to check on them, & when you get home.
- Make them an easter basket & drop it at their door.
- Wish them good luck on tests.
- Bring them donut holes when they're stranded at home, because they're ankles swollen.

Well yes you are being a good friend. But another thing is that you might come off as a bit obsessive.
The reason he might not "notice" is because he doesn't know what to do when someone is that nice to him.
If I were you, I would still be nice to him and be a good friend but I wouldn't go out of my way just for him.

im really confused is a 4.0 like perfect gpa and then 5.0 if you are taking honors or is 5.0 perfect and 6.0 is if you are taking honors?

If you don't take any honors or AP classes, a 4.0 is the highest you'll have because each class is worth a maximum of 4 points.(4 for A, 3 for B, 2 For C, etc...)
However, if you take an AP or honors class, it is possible to get above a 4.0. It depends on what the maximum point for the class is. My school gives only 5 points maximum for an A in an honors or AP class. HOwever, other schools may give 6 points.
What you do is that you add the points you got in each class, and then divide them by the number of classes you have. For example, you have 6 As in 6 classes and the As are worht 5 points, youll have a 5.0. If you have 6 As, 3 of them in regular classes and the other 3 in honors classes, then youll have a 4.5.
The higher the GPA, the better, but i dont recommend taking all honors and AP classes in highschool unless if you don't care about your social life. If you're still confused, send me a message.

i hate my height..i'm 5 6...i hate being this tall...i'm 14/f...is there any ways of being shorter??
there aren't ways to make yourself shorter, but there are ways to make yourself appear shorter. Wear flat shoes and don't wear those tight skinny jeans. They will make your legs appear to be longer.
Also, 5 6 isn't tall. If you're in middle school, it might appear to be tall for a girl, but in highschool, that's the average, if not below average heigh for a girl.

You could do both, just not both for your school. You could do volleyball and join a club for soccer outside of school or vice versa.
Also are you sure you have checked the sport schedule correctly? Soccer is a wintersport in my school, not fall.

Losing it in a healthy way isn't very realistic, although possible. A lot of it depends on your body type.
First of all, if you want to lose it in an UNHEALTHY manner, go on a popular diet such as the atkins diet. Or, just any diet that does not involve exercises and/or eating carbs and proteins.
If you want to lose it in a healthy manner, I'd recommend running at least 2 miles each day. If you can't do this, run as much as you can but pace yourself, then work your way up. If you're going to run on a treadmill, pace yourself for at least 40 minutes(treadmill running isn't nearly as effective as real running). Maybe some yoga or pilate exercises after this would also be effective, but the key is cardio.
Watch the foods you eat, no donuts, slurpees, soda, coffee, chocolate, ice cream, etc...
Drink a lot of water. Eat your fruits and veggies, avoid protein shakes unless if it's whey protein(but I still wouldn't really reommend whey protein if you want to lose weight).

They'll make you gain weight.
They are not healthy. Drinking 1 or 2 a day for an extended period of time is really harmful to your body. It's worse than soda.

A lot of it depends on your body type. If you are seriously overweight or overweight, don't expect to get nice abs anytime soon. If you are the average person, it could take a month to get toned abs, but if you want a super gnarly six pack, that'll take a couple of months.
First of all, RUN.
Don't jog, RUN. Be intense and push yourself. Run(not jog) at least 2 miles everyday. But pace yourself so you don't end up not being able to continue after the first mile.
After running, do 100 crunches. take a minute break and do 100 more. wait another minute, do another 100 situps. Also, throw in some leg lifts in there if you can.
Don't eat fatty foods, eat extremely healthy. If you do this everyday, youll get a very nice six pack within 6 months at most. Your abs should be toned by about the first month or so. It'll also be extremely easy to lose your abs once you have them.
It took me about 3-4 months of 300 situps a night and running my ass off during the day to get a gnarly six pack. I didn't have the energy to keep this up so I just ran and stopped the situps. I lost my six pack within 6 months.

Go to your school office and ask for a work permit. If you still go to middle school and they dont' have that, go to your local high school and ask for one.
Then, when you apply for a job, you have to hand your work permit(filled out) to your employer. That would make it legal for you to work.
Teenage jobs are low paying and boring. Your options are very very limited. Most of them involve working at shops or small resturaunts or food shops. If you want to work at a clothing shop, first find out if they're hiring. If they're not, you're out of luck. If they are, try to present yourself as most mature as possible.

Running and other cardio exercises are the key to losing fat off your lower abs. If you're going to run on a treadmill, I'd recommend running for at least 30 minutes each day. If you're going to run on a track or on the road, a good mile or two per day should be good.
Sucking in your stomach won't build up any muscle, only flexing will, but not that much.
Eat healthy, avoid things high in sugar and fast food but do not starve yourself. If you're going to run, make sure you get enough calories(I'd recommend 2,000, whoever told you not to eat above 1500 is an idiot). If you don't get enough calories with exercise, your whole body will feel like crap. Water is also important, avoid soda and coffee.

I just got a membership at a local gym with my mom. They have all kinds of machines, so many that I don't know what to do. I'm planning on going 3-5 times a week for about an hour. What are some routines I could try? Like if I should stay on one machine the whole time or alternate and switch machines a few times. I want to have an efficient and effective workout while I'm there.
heh, alin75 gave a good answer, if you want to become an all american football player. If you're a girl, i doubt you want to put on muscle mass, and alin's workout would do that to you(no offense to alin). Unless if you plan to do a contact sport, i wouldn't recommend follwing his workout
By the way, the workout im telling you is assuming that you just want to look good and be healthy, not to become some crazy ripped muscle woman.
First of all what are you goals? If it is to be healthy and have nice abs, I'd recommend going on the treadmill and run for 30 minutes. Then after that, I would recommend doing 100 crunches, 4 sets of 10 repetitions of LEG LIFTS. After that, another 100 crunches.
If you want toned arms, I would recommend using dumbells and doing CURLS and SKULL CRUSHERS with them. I'd recommend using an easy weight, but doing a lot of repetitions(around 20) in sets of 3 or 4.(so a total of 60-80 repetitions put together, take 1-2 minute rest before each set). You want to do less weight and more repetitions because that makes your arms toned. If you do more weight, which will make you do less reps, you will build muscle mass.
If you want toned calves and quadraceps(upper leg), I'd recommend picking up two dumbells and holding them down and doing CALF RAISERS with them. Again, do about 4 sets of 20 repetitions if you want toned calves. If you want a toned upper leg, I'd recommend SQUATTING. Pick a weight you feel comfortable with and once again, do many reps. Squats will also make your butt more toned.
Basically, stick to low weight and many reps. The main key to looking good and being healthy is cardio, which is basically running. Although the treadmill is good, nothing beats putting on a pair of shoes and running on real terrain(treadmill isn't nearly as effective)
Stay away from DEADLIFTS, they'll screw up your back when you get older. Also, stay away from MILITARY PRESS, it's harmful to your shoulders as you get older.
