There are two meanings to a stiletto. One being that it's another name for a switchblade and the other being a dress shoe that has a point with a tall heel.

You need to talk to Lindsey and tell her that you still love her and that you want to know if she loves you. Just tell her that you never meant to screw up the last time you went out and that you want to get back together with her. If Lindsey and this guy do go out, you really can't do anything and you need to wait until they dump each other. You're never going to know until you talk to her and find out.

ok so i was making cookies, then i discovered that we had no butter. can you substitute oil for butter? if you can how much oil for 1 stick [1/2 cup] of butter?

Oil is a liquid and butter is a solid; you cannot subsititute oil for butter. If you have margarine, then you can subsititute that for oil. It's different if you were frying something but when it comes to making cookies, oil does not work. Try asking your mom to run to your local grocery store and buy a stick of butter or margarine.

me and my bf have been going out for 5-ish weeks now and we're both pretty easy going people. But we haven't ever fought about anything and we spend SOOOO much time together. Is that bad?
No, that's not bad at all. It's great that you two don't fight because it shows that you don't disagree about things and that your relationship is strong. It's good that you two spend a lot of time together. Not fighting is good when it comes to being in a relationship with someone.

I used to have a lisp. When I was in third grade, my mom asked my teacher about it, and he said it wasn't a problem. Well, it's a problem now. I constantly get made fun of. Yesterday was the worst. This kid kept on making fun of me in art class when I was on the computer. I finally just got up and left the room, while the teacher was yelling at him. I have two questions.. Is that harassment? How can I get rid of my lisp? My mom says she doesn't even notice it anymore, but it's obviously still a problem.
Yes, anything that is said to you that hurts your feelings is harassment. You don't deserve to be treated like this, just because you have a lisp. If you're teeth are messed as in you really need braces, then you could get braces because my friend had a lisp because her teeth were messed up but once her teeth were fixed, her lisp was gone. Or you can go to a speech therapist and they will help you out.

my boyfriend said something really mean to me about the way i look earlier today on the phone. i hung up on him and he keeps calling back and i wont answer. he left a message saying "if you ever stop being mad at me call me, ill understand if you dont though" i want to call him back...what should i say?
If he calls you before you call him, talk to him and tell him that he shouldn't have been mean and that he hurt your feelings when he told you about the way you looked. Tell him that if he says anything else about you that you will end the relationship because your boyfriend shouldn't have said anything mean about you. If he's going out with you, he shouldn't care about the way you look and such. He should love you for the way you are.

I was looking through my closet just to check on my dress that I'm gonna wear tonight to a party, and when I tried it on, I realised it had this pretty big and noticable tear right on the butt! and i dont know what to do! i dont have any other dress options in my closet, i can't leave the house to buy another one, and i absolutely canNOT wear this torn dress! what should i do? because i would rather skip the party than feel totally self-consious....HELP PLZ! ALL 5'S FOR GOOD ADVICE!
If you know anything about sewing clothing and such, try sewing the tear. If you can't, ask your mom to. You can also try borrowing a dress from a friend; I'm sure they would be glad to. If you can't borrow one, try wearing a skirt instead with a top that goes with it. If your dress is a light color, then you will probably see the part that was stitched so your best bet is to wear a skirt.

There's a 'rock event' (like a disco but with rock music) that goes on in my town every month or so, and most of my mates go to it. Out of the seven of us, five go (I don't). This place has a really bad rep. and most people who go there drink, smoke and do drugs, but of course my friends parents have NO IDEA about this. All of my five friends who go have gotten into smoking, and two of them are serious binge drinkers. One guy I know but am not great friends with also goes to this place and has gotten into illegal drugs, as has one girl I was kinda 'hi in the hallway' friends with, and she got expelled and charged by the police for it. Now my problem is, I will NOT stand by and watch my friends slowly kill themselves with a load of alcohol, drugs and cigarettes, but how can I stop them? I can't say anything about how dangerous it is because that's like preaching and they know the dangers but don't care. I am thinking of breaking friends with them...three of them are moving into my house in a couple of months and I have told the two of them moving in with me that smoke and drink that they can forget moving in if they think they can smoke in my house and they just laughed. I don't want to preach and I know if they don't want to stop I can't make them...but what do you think I should do? I am NOT standing by and watching them die. There's also the added problem that I am extremely asthmatic and being in a house with smokers would (I've checked this with a doctor) kill me within a month, but my friends won't listen to this either. I love them all loads but I am not putting up with this any more and I am not putting my life on the line because they are too selfish to stop smoking. CAN I make them see sense? Or should I just break friends and move on?

If you tried talking to them about this and they didn't even listen to you and stop, that shows you that they really don't care about you and your health problems. You should definitely move on and not be friends with these people because if they would rather risk their lives by smoking and drinking and not stopping because of your health problems, it shows that they aren't your true friends. These people really do need help and it seems that you've tried talking to them but it still doesn't work. Just let them go and face the consequences because you deserve better friends who will listen to you and care about you and would stop smoking and drinking if they had to.

Alright, I moved to this town 3 years ago.. and before i moved her. My bestfriend had just broken up with her bf [Ian] of 4 years, and the next day he started going out with her cousin for 2. I secretly liked him but kept in a secret because i didnt wanna ruin there relationship, but the summer before 9th grade they broke up. I KNEW THIS WAS MY CHANCE. So we started talking alot more, and i slept over his house.. like twice. & we started going to party's together, and basketball games. We were in love & everything was great, untill about 6 months had gone by and i felt like we were never going to go out. so i started talking to a new boy, we went out for like a month and broke up because he told everyone i was just a booty call. But now me and Ian are talking again, and hes all ive been thinking of and im just scared to get back into the relationship with him, But i cant stay away from him at the same time. I dont know if i should give up... Or try one more time

You should definitely try one more time and get back into this "relationship" with him because everyone deserves second chances with anything. If you two are talking again, that's good; try hanging out with him again and bring back all those great memories that you had with him. Talk to him and tell him how you feel. Never give up on things because if you do, you will miss a chance.

i really dont know what to do...i hate my stepdad i just cannot stand him his such an asshole..and i told me mom and she knows i hate him..and when his friends are over he acts like hes all bad and shit..hes nuthin, and he told me today when its rainin and thundering outside to go and mow the yard...my mom argues with him all the time because hes a lil selfish bitch and he does nuthin for other people...he thinks he gots it all good cause he doesnt have to pay for the house cause my real dad does...i have a choice of moving to my dads house but i dont want to break my moms heart...what should i do?i have really thought about killing him...lol..i mean ill come home with really nice clothes and he'll be like wheres mine..i mean he trys to joke around sometimes but i just want him to know i do not like him...
You're right, he does sound like an asshole. You should try talking to your mother again and tell her the things that your stepdad says to you. If your mom and your stepdad argue a lot, you should tell your mom that you two shouldn't be arguing and that she needs to kick him out because he is ruining your family. Talk to your stepdad and tell him that you don't like it when he tells you to do stuff that you shouldn't do at a particular time such as mowing the lawn when it's raining and just by joking around. Tell him that he needs to think before he says or does anything. If you don't want to break your mother's heart, then you should stay at your mother's house but I think you should take a break and live at your dad's house for a little bit so you can clear some things up and feel better. You and your mom definitely don't deserve your stepdad in your lives because she shouldn't be arguing with him all the time and he shouldn't be mean and rude to you. Just think and decide how you want to handle this.

Start flirting with him. Smile at him when he says something and laugh at his jokes and such. Talk to him more often at school; when you see him walking, walk up to him and say "Hi" to him. Just be really nice to him and flirt with.

You can compliment her on her clothing and the way she looks each time you see her, you can talk to her a lot and be there for her, when she talks about things, listen to what she has to say and such, you can ask her to hang out with you a lot, you can give her a kiss or a hug every time you see her, and any thing like that will make her think that you are sweet and nice to her.

I really didn't know what category to but this under but here is the question does anyone have any GOOD fundraising ideas to help raise money for the American Cancer Society? Thanks for all your help I need as many ideas as I can get.
You can do a lot of things to raise money. Round up people and have a bake sale. A few people can make brownies, other people can make cookies, and the rest can make cupcakes or what ever. You can have a town car wash; since it's winter, a lot of people's cars are really dirty so this would be a great way to make money. You can sell jewelry and such such as bracelets, necklaces, etc. that are home made. You can sell t-shirts that have to do with the American Cancer Society and such. At my school, we had a fundraiser for the Tsunami disaster and each class collected spare change and our school made over $6,000.00. You can also sell candles too. Just think of simple things like that and that will help you raise money.

hi, ive got a french oral exam on tues and i havent hardly learnt any of it, we have to learn our presentatation about anything ( mines half a page long) the questions to go with it (5-6 questions), topic one and topic two which is like 13-15 questions. im getting really stressed out cos, ive got no time to revise.

Since you have no time to revise, you need to start making time for yourself to revise. Oral exams are pretty stressful but you need to study and make time for it. If you know someone who has done this before, ask them to help you out and I'm sure they will.

my cousin who is like one of my best friends is a little theift...she steals from my sister and me all the time she got caught stealing from walmart...well this girl(we'll call her bob) bob thought my cousin was her friend...but that night my cousin was at her cousins b'day and she took bobs cell phone and took it apart and hid it in her cousins bathroom...she told me and i thoguht how could she do something like that! so like to weeks later, last night i was on the internet and so was bob...and if ur cell was stolen and taken apart wouldnt you like to no where it is... well i told bob where it was and bob told my cousins cousin who told my cousins brother whose dad was looking at my cuzs bros ims and saw what it said and so now my cousin is pissed at me...should i say sorry for doing the right thing!!!plzz help me
You don't have to apologize for this because you just wanted to help "Bob" by telling her where her cell phone was. Your cousin shouldn't steal and do all of this that you have mentioned that she does. You did the right thing it now your cousin has to face the consequences of getting in trouble by her parents. If she steals, it's alright for you to tell because it isn't right. Don't worry, you did the right thing and you don't need to apologize if you don't want to.

In my school people get picked on school temas basically because they are friends with the coach. they could be not as good as one person but if they know the coach they will still make it. well i dont know the coach and im trying out for basketball but i dont know if i should because they probally wont pick me cause i dont know the coach cause im ok at basketball im not the best but im not bad (sorry if this is confusing) my question is though should i try out or not?
You should try out because if you don't, then you will never know if you would make the team and you will miss a chance. Since a lot of people make the team if they are friends with the coach, you can try talking to this coach and such. Even if you don't want to but you try out and don't make it, you can definitely talk to this coach and tell him that he shouldn't put people on the team, just because he knows them and that there are other people who are probably better than these people. So yeah, you should try out.

If you are stressing over this girl, then that tells you that you should ask her out but only if you like her. Before you do ask her out though, find out if she has a boyfriend; if she doesn't, then ask her out but if she does, then you should just wait until they break up and ask her out because this girl will probably still like you. You don't have to do things that your friend tells you to do.
