why is it bad to wash your face more than 2-3 times a day? when people say that do they mean not to wash your face with cleanser more than 2-3 times a day?
and is it okay to splash water on your face a lot throughout the day to get all the oils off?
Actually- it is kind of bad to do it 2 or 3 times a day, because your face produces oils that it NEEDS. True- some are bad- and that is what the ONE face wash a day is used for. Its probably best to do it at night- but morning or night will work.
Splashing water is alright- but it won't get the oils off- it will just get your face wet. Its like if you swam all day in fresh water- nothing really happens after you get out- except that your fingers might be pruney.. but not your face.
Does that help?

hey.
i have some trouble reading. like, i read, but i don't retain. the only time i retain is when i am in love with the book. when i read, i start thinking about other stuff & i can't concentrate on the book. i try to "picture" it in my head, but it doesn't help much. i really want to start reading more.
i read in a quiet, well-lit comfortable [but not TOO comfortable] area.
do you have any tips, please?
i need advice on how to get the BIG picture. i pick up all the little unnecessary details, but i don't get the big picture. i've tried reading paragraphs, even chapters at a time & asking myself, "what did i just read?" but i just have trouble retaining.
i'm pretty sure i don't have like, a learning deficiency because when i really like a book, i understand it completely. but for the books that are manditory for school, etc. i need help.
thank you.
Ugh- don't you hate this? I am the same way! I can't retain my reading with school- but I can when I'm reading something I love- like Harry Potter.
I found that using a site like cliffsnotes.com or sparksnotes.com are really helpful. They usually have the book you're reading.. because they have the school books- you know?
But reading the chapter from the book- then from the website will really help you. Also- antistudy.com works well too- and you can read essays that explain themes and plot points.
Those three sites have helped me- and should help you too!
**EDIT**
Maybe while your reading [like the person above said] jot down notes about characters/plot/themes/etc. If you know that you have to focus on themes- and you're given the themes- use sticky notes and jot down on them when you notice a theme being expressed- and stick it on the page. That way- when you're done with the book- you have all of these notes- and it could be like a summary or study guide that is probably shorter/better than the online notes.
Do you need more?
Happy Reading!

I'm fifteen, and a female. For awhile now, I've wanted to get my nose pierced. I think tiny nose studs on the side are really cute. I'm not the rebellious type, I've told my parents about it and they're considering letting me have it done. I don't want to betray their trust and do it behind their backs, you know? And I know the risks of infection, and I'll commit to cleaning it regularly, etc etc. So please don't lecture me about that.
1. Does what side a girl gets pierced make a difference, like guys who get a certain ear pierced? I was thinking my right side, because I have a freckle there too.
2. If I take it out, how long until it heals over to the point it has to be re-done? [My grandma might not be too thrilled about pierced noses at her Christmas party]
I don't have much to say other than that it shouldn't be too large or bulky.
Like Matt has or will say- it should be small. Being too large is a distraction.
And I think any side is fine, really. =D
I think it usually takes as long as an ear piercing.. but I don't know much about that... I am just a normal not-having-piercings teenage guy.
5 whore?
So what?

my aim says "attempting to sign on again too soon" when i ttry and sign on, what do i do?
Sometimes AIM won't let you sign in consecutively. So you have to wait awhile.. I'd say like 20 minutes and it should be fine.
Its kind of like when you type too many messages- and it won't let you send any for like a minute- that's kind of what is happening here =D.

at outlet malls why are clothes there cheaper?
Lauraxomichelle is right. They are "out of fashion" things from last month or last year. Stuff that they didn't sell, but need to. They can't sell at the mall store- so send it to an outlet- where they can afford to sell cheaper.

That might help a little =D.

our son was dx'd with cancer and our friends had a charity golf outing for us and raised $8000, now they have made no mention of giving us the money, do we ask or just wait to see if they mention it, it has been two weeks since the outing and our friends are the type of people who are very pushy and sensitive but have the best hearts in the world but we know that we'll sound greedy if we ask for it even though it was donated by our co-worker's and family and friends, what do we do?
I certainly don't think it would be rude for you to ask for it- I mean- they ran the event for your son- so the money is really for you guys. If they haven't given it to you- then you shouldn't feel bad in asking. If you don't ask- you may never get it- and it sounds like you need it =D.
I feel so sorry for your son. My best wishes to you and your family =D.

I have a pet plant- and I watered it every day. Well, my plant passed away and I was wondering what kind of ceremony can I have for it, and what is a plant that will last longer?
Well- I'm sorry for your pet plant's loss.
Its a hard one, I imagine, at least for you.
You can maybe bury it with your family- and do the classic "Do you have any words to say?" ceremony.
I hope you understand.
I heard geraniums last longer. But so does Stride gum, I've heard.

if i am going to be a junior in high school this year i will graduate in 2009. so am i a junior '08 or junior '09? like how some people have it in their profiles on AIM. what do i put
You're a Junior '08- because that's the year it is when you're a Junior.
To make it simple- you could just put "Class of '09" or something =D.

So, I was looking at your pic and your hair. I swear, 70% of the guys at my school has that hair and they always do the flippy thing...
Does the flipping thing come naturally or do you guys have "practice"? lol
And how do you see? Because my friend Austin has really long hair and I can't see his eyes most of the time but he can still read! Ahh if I kept my bangs down like that, they poke my eyes =/
And is the concept of guys not caring out their outward appearance false [especially hair nowadays]? lol
I know, I ask weird questions.
I do the flippy thing =/. Its not a bad thing tho- but the funny thing is- I actually got marked down on a speech because I kept doing it.
Y'see- I don't have my hair like this because I want to be cool- because I could care less about that- I do it because I like how I look with it.
I think it takes extreme practice. Seriously- its taken me two years to perfect. Even after I get my hair cut- I still do it.. its just a natural thing.
I see because the hair goes over my eyes- how else, silly?
I care about my appearance a lot. Don't you think my hair looks awesome? If you don't- you're sadly mistaken...
And is this a joke question?

Hi
does anyone here watch that show called greek?/
if so whats it about?/ and is it any good?
thank you in advance
Hey!
I watch Greek. It is a really good show about sororities and fraternities and overall college life. Rusty is the main character who pretty much is a nerd but trying to be accepted by his fraternity. He is majoring in something like engineering.. I can't remember at this moment.
Honestly- I wasn't even going to watch this show- but I got into it and I really like it- its hilarious!
Its a really good show- and its worth watching!
http://a51.abcfamily.go.com/shows/greek/
From there:
"Greek", a new original series by creator Patrick Sean Smith, is a dramedy set at fictitious Cyprus-Rhodes University, which focuses on the social minefield that is the Greek system. Viewers will see this unique cast of characters navigate their way through this treacherous terrain as they try to find their place at Cyprus-Rhodes University.
Shawn Piller and Lloyd Segan (who together produced "Wildfire" and "The Dead Zone") and Anne Kenney ("Beautiful People," "The Division") will serve as executive producers. Gil Junger ("10 Things I Hate About You," "Kyle XY") directed the pilot, which was written by creator/co-executive producer Sean Smith ("Summerland," "Wildfire").
The ensemble cast includes Jacob Zachar as Rusty, Spencer Grammer as Casey, Scott Michael Foster as Cappie, Jake McDorman as Evan, Clark Duke as Dale, Dilshad Vadsaria as Rebecca, Paul James as Calvin and Amber Stevens as Ashleigh.

I collect rubber duckies & I have names for all of them. Am I weird?
No- everyone has their collections.
I collect pins- does that make me weird? No.
Then again- I don't name them.
That part is a little odd..

What is your opinion on those who kick puppies?
I think they should go to jail. They need to be punished. Puppies are harmless and innocent. They need love- and they won't get love by being kicked.
Maybe you should think about what you've done, alright? Because I won't go out with them if they do that.

on google talk [i.e., gtalk, google IM] if you "remove" someone from your buddy list, do you get removed off of theirs?
No- its just like AIM- if you remove someone from your buddy list- they have no idea.. they can still contact you. Unless you block them [not sure if you can do that on google IM]- they will still be able to contact you.

What would be proper etiquette when meeting a politican whose ideas you don't believe in? I want to voice my opinon, but I don't want to come off too strong.
Say what you want! If you don't voice your opinions against them- then they'll think that they have you on their side. Strike up an argument with them- maybe they'll realize the flaw in their argument.
Just have fun with it, really. I know if I met a politician- I would do anything but bite them!

cross out text in yoour aim profile, in aim 6.1
["s" standing for strike out] .
But there should be an option when you go under the first option on top of your buddy list- and go to something like "Edit Profile" or something- and there should be; next to 'Bold', 'Underline', and 'Italics'; the option to strike out the text. If not- use the code I gave.

O.k i took someone's advice on here and i flirted w/ my guy friend. Turns out he likes me to. And we are sort of going out i guess. Now that Band camp has started he stands behind me(in the parade marching) and he always like pokes me when we are just standing there. And he pokes me like where i don't like to be poked(on my butt) it is really really anoying. How can i get him to stop doing it w/o hurting his feelings some how.(he is REALLY EXTREMELY emotional, its strange) Now i know if i tell him to stop he will freak out(a similar situation happen earlier this yeat)
I don't want to do anything to hurt him scince we just started going out and i am scared he will leave me! ARGH i don't know what to do.
Laura [below] is right.
He can't read your mind- since you haven't stopped him yet- he may just assume you like it.
I think really your only option is to tell him that you don't really like it- in the most polite way possible.
Like say, "Hey, I know that you really care about me- and you're trying to poke me- and I think its cute that you're trying to flirt- but I really don't like when you poke my butt. I hope you understand,"
That should work- and if he leaves you for saying that- then that's just dumb.

I've done lyrics searches for this one song I've heard, but can't identify. There's a harmonizing chorus in the background that goes "doot da doot doot doot doot". And it's about how someone's mom is a junkie, and if she could do everything all over again she wouldn't change it for the world. Alternative song, might be by Bad Religion although I honestly have no idea.
Hello.
http://www.letssingit.com/
In the middle of the top of the page- you'll see two boxes- one is a drop-down menu. Put in the lyrics from the song- and choose in the drop-down menu "lyrics" under "MUSIC" and it should give you good results.
I did "Your mother was a junkie" search and found:
http://artists.letssingit.com/fang-lyrics-law-order-k5qf6q8#p
But that doesn't seem right. Try putting in as many lyrics as you can.

I don't know if its normal- but you could try Preparation H.

If this cream doesn't help- go see a doctor.

I would prefer Christians who are strong in their faith to answer this one, particularly those who have gone through what I am experiencing now.I was raised by a Christian mother who puts her faith completely in Jesus. I never doubted God and was saved at the age of twelve at VBS. I was baptized at 15. Since the day I was saved, four years ago, I've prayed to God every morning, night, and whenever else I felt like it. I read my Bible every morning and night and have almost finished it. I attend church every Sunday and do a Bible study with my family every night. I also attended a small Devotion before school every day for three years. I was certain that I had a personal relationship with Jesus. Then, one night recently, I started thinking. I was just laying in bed and all of the sudden, a wave of doubt hit me. I started questioning everything, including my belief in Jesus. I've prayed and cried so much about these things that I've made myself sick over worrying about them. I've been reading the Gospel again and again trying to find solid evidence. Then, I started wondering if everything in the Bible was real. Please, someone help ease my mind. I want to reccommit myself to Jesus, but first I need to put to rest all of these doubts and rekindle my faith. How can I do this?
I'm born and raised Catholic, just so you know.
Everyone has these doubts at one point or another. What you need to do is keep praying to God that these doubts will go away. Keep saying the "Our Father"- as in it- it mentions "deliver[ing] us from evil"- and these doubts are Satan's way of trying to trick you out of your faith. Don't let him get to you. Keep praying and going to church and reading the Bible. Pray more than you ever have. Just pray that you be delivered from evil and God will help you. =D
