I would prefer Christians who are strong in their faith to answer this one, particularly those who have gone through what I am experiencing now.I was raised by a Christian mother who puts her faith completely in Jesus. I never doubted God and was saved at the age of twelve at VBS. I was baptized at 15. Since the day I was saved, four years ago, I've prayed to God every morning, night, and whenever else I felt like it. I read my Bible every morning and night and have almost finished it. I attend church every Sunday and do a Bible study with my family every night. I also attended a small Devotion before school every day for three years. I was certain that I had a personal relationship with Jesus. Then, one night recently, I started thinking. I was just laying in bed and all of the sudden, a wave of doubt hit me. I started questioning everything, including my belief in Jesus. I've prayed and cried so much about these things that I've made myself sick over worrying about them. I've been reading the Gospel again and again trying to find solid evidence. Then, I started wondering if everything in the Bible was real. Please, someone help ease my mind. I want to reccommit myself to Jesus, but first I need to put to rest all of these doubts and rekindle my faith. How can I do this?

I believe that Satan definately enstilled this in your heart. i've been there too, believe me. but i'm sure if you have had a relationship with God for a while and stuff, you have religous leaders you can look up to right? my best advice is to meet with them, maybe even one on one at starbucks or something, and have them try to help you.
skylalou_1 answered Saturday August 18 2007, 7:43 pm: Well, this is all Satan.. Satan tries to fill our minds with doubts that God isn't real and that he doesn't live within us. Remember, Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy, not to bring us life and life abundantly, that would be Jesus Christ. See, I'm 16 and always known that I was missing something in my life 'till I was about 11 or 12 and I became a Christian. Almost every day, Satan fills my head with lies and doubts that my parents are never gonna get saved and that I should just forget about it. See, I'm the only one in my household that's saved and it is so hard for me, but since I believe in God firmly, I keep my mind on him and seek him every chance that I get he lets me know all the time that he hears my prayer and that he is real and he's promised me that he is going to save them.. I continues to pray that he would give me a sign and ever since then he has given me so many signs in so many ways.
Example: Last Friday we went to a youth rally out of town and we were up in the front of the Church and this guy came up to me after I got through praying and asked me what I wanted.. I told him that I wanted to see my parents saved and he told me that God wanted him to come up and help me pray because God is gonna save them but I have to keep my faith in him and continue to believe and that he would help me to continue to pray for them.. See, that was God working in one of his mysterious ways once again.. he knew that I was still praying 4 them every chance I got, and let me know that he still is real, he's the same today as he was yesterday or the day b4, and that he hears my prayers and that he's gonna continue to let me know that he is real and he is gonna save them soon!!! well, write me back and let me know everything, and if you ever need to talk just im me at skylalou_1 i'd luv to talk hope I helped * Skyla * [ skylalou_1's advice column | Ask skylalou_1 A Question ]

That's the whole thing of religion, you believe in it, even though some things may make it impossible to really believe. But if you look deep enough, there is hard core proof and evidence it is real. You may be think that perhaps, evelution is true. How could it be true, when monkeys are not changing to humans today? You just have to trust in yourself and God to get you through this. Seek support from your friends, pastor(s), and / or members of your church.

Everyone doubts something sometimes.. and because Jesus has been a huge part of your life for years you doubted it first. I would still do all the things you do, and ask him why your doubting him. It could just be a test..

If you don`t do anything else, go to this site. It has six straight-foward reasons why God is real and they make more sense than anything people have told me if you think about them.
So, does God exist? Looking at all those facts on that website, one can conclude that a loving God does exist and can be known in an intimate, personal way. =] [ xY0M0MMAx's advice column | Ask xY0M0MMAx A Question ]

This doubt about the existence of Jesus and everything in the Bible just shows your intelligence -- you aren't ready to blindly follow what others have told you, and are ready to discover the truth--whether He be real or not--for yourself. So good on you.
You seem like a very good Christian, strong in faith and in community. Just understand that the stuff in the Bible isn't all literal, that some of it was written directly for people 2000 years ago, but try to take the main ideas out and use them to prove to yourself the existence of God. Find someone with strong, incredible faith, and try to model yourself after them. Just to prove how powerful this can be, I'm going to tell you about my brother.
Growing up, my older brother was the definition of trouble--he was drinking and doing drugs as early as gr. 8. My parents couldn't control him, and he seemed to be headed for a terrible life. As a final resort, my mother invited in some Mormon missionaries who had come to the door to talk to him. He took a liking to these two missionaries, and they continued to come and teach him about faith. He experienced a spiritual conversion that completely changed him. He was baptized as a Mormon and now lives a virtuous life--at the moment he is a missionary in Mexico.
Now I know you're Christian and he is Mormon, and there is a difference, but I think what I have learned from his conversion is that God will find you if you truly need him. It doesn't matter what religion you are, God will find you in your time of need. Don't push away your doubts and fears. Reason with yourself, and try to keep your faith. You will discover the truth. Everyone has these doubts at one point or another. What you need to do is keep praying to God that these doubts will go away. Keep saying the "Our Father"- as in it- it mentions "deliver[ing] us from evil"- and these doubts are Satan's way of trying to trick you out of your faith. Don't let him get to you. Keep praying and going to church and reading the Bible. Pray more than you ever have. Just pray that you be delivered from evil and God will help you. =D
