weve been bestfriends 7 years but now i think were growing apart. im 14 shes 13. im very perky and peppy. she is very dark hearted. i wear pinks and brights she wears the blacks and darks. we have always been real different like this but now i gues its going to extremes. prep and goth totally different music she listens to screaming and rock stuff i listen to pop. even when we go to the mall i want hollistar she wants hottopic. when we go to dances its just creepy the people she can meet and how she dances. i dont wana lose her shes all i really got. i make it seem like i have alot of friends but its really only her. she has alot of gothic friends that were there for her when she was suicideal. she just scared me so i was kinda away i regret it now. now i realize that i left her when she was dieing literally how meaner can i get to her. leaveing your bestfriend to die. we talk over aim and very little at school but thats pretty much all. i dont like her friends i hate them so much their freaks and just try to kill theirselvs for fun? i told her that it made her scream and go to them. she doesnt cry not even through all the deaths shes been through. i can tell in her eyes shes dieing inside. shes always in trouble always pissed at something. shes very mad im scared of her she talks about death and killing and she can kill someone instantly shes just scarey. shes always with her other friends she said there the only ones in my life to understand me truely. they have kept her alive this hole year. she will not let anyone help her not even her parents but how do i. there is alot of questions about friends on here so i was hopeing anything will help me. anything please shes all i need

being bestfriends for a lifetime can be huge deal and very complicated because people change. like you said. have you talked to her how you feel about this? you can't really do anything to help her with the suicide, but if you know she trie to do it again, TELL SOMEONE. You'll regret it if you don't. in the meantime, say you'll always be there for her, even when her other friends aren't. so if she needs to talk, you're there.don't force her to be you're friend, i know its hard, but she will come to you when she needs you the most.

just remember to eat right, and drink enough water if you want to loose weight.

16, 5'4", 135-140 lbs (it fluctuates).

If I eat healthy (cutting out junk foods such as candy, chips, soda and all that other stuff), do cardio (walking, to slow jog, to running for a few minutes, and switching around all of those, since I can't run because I have low stamina) for atleast 30-50 minutes, 3 times a week.

How much weight could I realistically loose in 3 weeks or a month, I do lose weight relatively fast, but gain it back... because I'm lazy haha.

if you loose 2lbs a week.
probably 6-8 in a month.

yes, it is true.

certain tea's have anti-oxidents in them, which help you burn fat and loose weight.
I know Green Tea has some in it.

My personal favorite, is POM tea. I get it at Hannaford. its made out of green tea and pomegranite juice (super-antioxident). It should near the fruits and veggie or organic section.

Diet Lipton Iced Tea is good too. It takes awhile to get used to it though.

I'm going to a resort im 2 weeks- but I'm on a strict diet (i stay between 1200-1700 cals a day) And I always gain weight when I go on vacations. I want to be able to enjoy the food there- but I also don't want to gain weight.


I'm going to keep exercising there in the fitness room- but I just don't know what to do about the food.

any suggestions appreciated.

Eat what you want, but watch how much you're eating.
-- If its at a resturant, ask for half-portions of what you're ordering.
-- Order the kids size when you get drinks, icecream, etc.
-- Ask for the nutrtion facts if you're that paranoid of what to eat.
-- Eat as Healthy as you can.

You shouldn't have a problem gaining weight if you're in the fitness room. If they have a pool, thats even greater because you'll be using more muscles.

i am 5'7 and my weight fluxuates from 124-128. i haven't gone above 130 in a few months because i watch what i eat. would you be able to tell me what my ideal caloric intake should be? and what exercises you think i should do each day to keep me at this weight? my abs are really toned because i do ab workouts all the time, so i'm pretty set with that. and recently i find myself snacking a bit more than i used to, could you tell me some ways to fight my cravings and some substitutes? it's usually things like fig newtons (even though they're the low-fat kind and i only eat a few, they're probably not hte best thing to snack on.)

Yor BMI number is 19 for 126lbs. To loose weight (which you deffinitly don't need to) you need to eat 500 calories less of what you normally eat (which would be 1400 for you). But since you're already at your ideal weight, eat about 1900 calories per day.
Working out like Tredmill, Swimming, Jogging, etc. will be perfect for excersies. Do that for 30 minutes every other day or so.
Fig Newtons are cookies, so its not that great to over-eat on them. To avoid the temptation of overeating them, try putting them in indivitual baggies when you first get them. Put the SERVING SIZE of them inside. It'll help.
Fighting cravings is a huge pain. But what I do is drink a lot of water, and fill it up with ice. Snack on something thats less in calories, like cucumbers or celery sticks. You actually burn the amount of calories in celery while eating them. Pretend they're something you're craving.
Another way to fight cravings is finding something else to do. Like taking a walk outside. or giving yourself a manicure.

Im 14, female, 5'4, and weigh 157. I think my bmis something like 26? Anyway. I have five days left of school and after that i have an entire summer to sit around or actually do something productive. I want to lose weight (in my thighs, stomach, and tone up my flabby arms). My mom and my sister dont eat very well and whenever i buy something good and healthy, they eat it. I want to eat healthy and stuff but HALF the time i go to my dad's house and my dad eats a lot like me. just like....random cravings. So my plan is to lose a ton of weight (metaforically speaking) this summer!Its possible in my neighborhood to walk around and bike. and i have some pilates and work out videos in my house.
Can you give me a general plan to get fit this summer?

Your BMI number is 26.. and according to my BMI book thing, to be "fit" at your age you need to weigh around 120lbs. Loosing 37lbs might be a little hard to do just over the summer, but it's possible, if you really put your mind into it. Just remember that loosing so much weight in such a little time could be dangerous, and backfire on you. So aim for loosing 2-3lbs a week. You might loose up to 25lbs by the end of summer.
Eating right can actually be pretty easy. I used to eat a lot of junkfood, and then when New Years came I made a resolution to eat healthier, and i ended up loosing 23lbs. and still loosing more :) Has your mom or sister thought about eating healthier? maybe you guys could make the change together. If they eat the healthy food, Try cooking for the WHOLE family. or get a friend to help you out. Its wayy easier with someone else going through the same thing. If not, try seeing if your mom can buy more fruits and vegetables for YOU only. See if you can make room in the kitchen cabinent for your stuff only and completly off-limits to them.
About random cravings.. I always just take a peice of celery and pretend its something I want, like if I'm craving a candy bar. It usually helps me. Chewing on Ice works too, or gargle on mouthwash. They cravings should go away in about 10 minutes. If you start reaching for more food, ask yourself "Do I really need this?" or "Am I hungry?". If you say No, do your best to stay away from it, or grab something healthier.

a general plan? try eating anywhere from 1600-2000 calories per day.
Sample Menu:
Breakfast- Oatmeal (Low-Sugar) with Sliced Bannana in Non-Fat Vanilla Yogurt
Snack- Orange, Raisons, or Granola Bar, .
Lunch- Turkey Wrap (Turkey, Provalon Cheese, Lettuce, Pickles, Cucumbers, etc). Watermelon or some other fruit. 1% milk.
Snack- Carrot Sticks, Cellery with Peanutt Butter, or Mozzerlla Sticks
Dinner- Chicken Salad. or just a salad. with light dressing.

thats just a sample of what you can eat. Basicaly all you need to do is PAY ATTENTION to what you eat. That will do you best.

Work Out Plan?:
Ride your bike for an hour 3x a week. Do Core excersises, like crunches and pushups.
On days you don't bike, try walking a mile per day.
Do 50 crunches per night. and 20 pushups.

Oh, I would also try making this special kind of tea. Ingredients: (makes 5 servings)
- 5 bags of Green Tea
- 8oz of Pomegranite Juice
- 4 cups of Boiling Water.
Boil the Water, then add the Green Tea. Let the bags sit for up to 5 minutes (depending on how strong you like the tea). When its cooled down, add the Pomegranite Juice. You can drink this Hot or Iced. Whatever way you like it. (Its packed with anti-oxidents that help you loose weight)

Some Tips, Here you Go:
1. Avoid High Froctuce Corn Syrup. Its in a lot of foods, which is why it can be hard to avoid. But it what causes most weight gain.
2. Depending on your weight and height, You need around 1400-2000 calories a day. Find Our Your BMI number and I can tell you for sure. I have this book that really helped me out.
3. Eat More Protein.
4. Hang your bathing suit on your bedroom door. So everytime you walk out your door, you know what you're aiming for if your headed for the kitchen.
5. Drink More Water, and Eat More Vegetables. (They make you fuller)
6. Brush your teeth after every meal.
7. See if your mom will let you clear out a space in the kitchen for YOUR foods.
8. Get 100 calorie packs, they're good if you can't cut out junk food completly.
9. If you feel like you need to binge (eat everything in sight), take a step back, and look for something else to do. Like Taking a bubble bath, Chewing on Ice, Giving yourself a manicure, etc.
10. Leave a message on your phone saying how proud you are of yourself and to keep up the good work.

Girls and 6packs are slightly impossible because we have boobs, and that kind of gets in the way. haha. Thats why we call them "Four Packs".
But uhm. Getting a Flat stomach would require a lot of "core" excersises. Getting your weight and height could've helped, but core excersies basically work your spine and where all your main organs are.
some core excersises:
- The Bycicle: Lay on back and put your hands behind your head like you would if you're doing crunches. Next, bring one elbow to touch your opposite knee. Then do the next elbow and knee. Repeat 8 counts.
- Plank: Lay flat on your stomach, and bring yourself up as if doing a pushup. But Don't bring yourself back down, hold yourself up for 20 counts. Trust me, You'll start feeling the burn.
If you have questions about those, or if i explained them wrong,

For loosing weight in your thighs:
Run, Jog, Jumprope, Swim, Jumping Jacks, Dancing, Climbing Stairs, anything that gets your lower body parts working!

Remember, Working out isn't the only way you can loose weight. Watch what you eat. Look at your diet. If you're consuming lots of chips, fried foods, fast foods, etc. Replace them with Fruits, vegetables, soy nuts, the GOOD stuff.

hey all, i'm 22 and lately i've been having a bit of discomfort in my down blow regions, mostly after sex but it can last for up to a week after, at first i thought it was thrush but now i'm not so sure, i inspected it and my bits are sore and look a bit red, but its like i have tiny little cuts around my vagina, almost like papr cuts? i wasn't sure what this meant or what i could do get rid of it, it's very painful, esp when i go to the toilet, i know this is quite gross but i do need advice :-) thankyou

today i ate

breakfast - 2 eggs and a heart healthy cereal with skim milk (and a multivitamin)

lunch - an apple, a handful or 2 of baby carrots, and a pack of 4 little peanut butter cracker sandwich things with water

dinner - a chicken cutlet and half a baked potato, and a spinach salad with milk

so i thought that was good for being healthier right? is it or am i missing a lot?

also the problem is after dinner i feel hungry still for a while, but i dont have any specific craving, i just want food. i dont actually feel HUNGRY though. what can i eat to fill me up but not be too many calories or anything?

2 whole eggs are actually really bad for you. Eggs have a lot of fat and cholesterol in them. So try replacing the eggs with some kind of fruit. Like a bannana. Your supposed to have 5-9 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. So the carrots and the apples are good.
The Peanut butter crackers are high in protein, which is also good. You need around 40 grams of protein per day to feel energized. Crackers are good too, but it depends on the type. Whole Grain are te best for you.
Dinner looks okay. But like the person below me said, it depends on what you're putting on the baked potatoe. Eat in moderation for the toppings.

If you're still hungry at the end of the day, drink more water. 8 glasses is the recommended amount per day. Chew on Ice, brush your teeth, or much on something like Soy nuts.

Hi i'm 5'3 (iunno if i did that right, 5 feet, 3 inches) and I weigh 137 lbs.

I want to healthily lose atleast 17 to 22 lbs by either the end of July or summer.

I walk/jog 30 minutes atleast 3 times a week, and am planning to take dance during the summer.

So is it possible? including if i exclude dance.

The excersise is good, but now you just need to concentrate on what you EAT.

Cut out junk food, sodas, etc. and replace with fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, water, etc.

So i'm joining a new gym that has every kind of machine you could think of- and a pool. I just don't know what to do (like how many reps of each thing, and which machines should i use)

So if anyone could suggest a specific workout to do there that would be great.

also- how many laps should I swim and which strokes?
Today I did ten, but i don't know how much that is in comparison to a mile.


I'm teenage girl if that helps. I can run a mile at 5.5 mph without stopping- so I'm not completely out of shape or anything. I do need to lose about 20 pounds to be healthy though.

So I need a workout that will help me lose these 20 pounds.

Switch off every now and again on the Lipsicle(sp?), Tredmill, Stairmaster, any of those for around a half an hour a day. Add a minute onto that everytime you go.

Swimming, I'm not so sure about. But it really depends on how big the pool is. Let me google it:

Common distances:
Lap=1 length of the pool
1 lap of the pool=25 meters
4 laps of the pool= 100 meters or 1/16 of a mile
16 laps of the pool=400 meters or ¼ of a mile
32 laps of the pool=800 meters or ½ of a mile
65 laps of the pool= 1 mile
Standard mile is 1760 yards and 70.4 laps in a yard pool

don't know if that helps.

but uhm. Loosing 20lbs can be really easy if you put your mind to it. But working out isn't the only thing that helps. Remember to Eat Healthy and Drink Lots of water.

I don't really need to loose weight, just get into shape. Flatten the tummy, that sorta thing.

I want a flatter stomach, but I can't do a crunch because I have back problems. What are some exercises I can do to get it flatter?

try doing "Core" excersises. Such as:

bycicle: lay on your back and move one elbow to the opposite knee. then move the other elbow to your other knee. repeat that around 20 times.

Plank: lay flat on your stomache, and lift yourself up as if you were going to do a push up. but don't go back down, keep yourself up for 20-30 seconds. Trust me, You will feel a burn.

V-up: Take a ball with your hands and try to reach your feet with it. Make a V-Shape and hold that for 20 seconds.

120lbs is kind of small. I would aim for like 125-130. Thats the weight you're supposed to be.
for how long, it really depends on how commited you stay to your diet. Just Eat Healthy, and work out for about 40minutes three times a week and you can loose up to 6lbs in one week. It's probably better to loose around 3lbs a week. So to answer your question, like 2 months.
