In the Bible doesn't it say that we shouldn't pray aloud to show off? That instead we should pray in the privacy of our own room? (not the exact words) If that is so then why do people go to church? I'm christain but I don't believe that going to church makes a difference in how we are seen in God's eyes. Everyone pressures me to go to church saying that it will "lead me in the right direction" but I don't think it matters if I go to church or not.
Does it matter?

as you can see- we are told to sing unto the lord, and in another verse- i dont remember exactly whre its at- it states that we should shout unto the lord highest in the heavens. i guess it might depend on what religionyou are, because i know that im pentecostal- and we believe in praising the lord out loud. so, it might be an opinion thing.
The past few days ive noticed that a lot of people writs love and hate on their knuckles...what does this mean and is it bad?

well, first off, it wont be embarassing or anything- because your mom doesnt have to be in there if you dont want her to be. also, anything you tell her- shes required to kee confidential- unless it turns out you have some kind of std or somthing- then shes rquired by law to tell your mother that youve stated youve ben sexually active. and she'll give you all the time in the world to ask questions- thts what shes there for.

My friend is 13 and ran half a mile in 5 mins and 13 seconds. Is that slow, regular, or fast?
its probably about average. i was on the cross country team for 3 years, and pacing myself it took me about 8 or 9 minutes to complete a mile. so that doubled what your friend did would be about 10 minutes . not bad if shes not on any kind of runnig team.
My friends always tell me im pretty and that im the skinniest out of all of us whenever i say im fat or that im ugly or hate my hair and things like that and i dont know if they are doing this to make me feel better or not? what do you think?
it sounds like youre fishing for compliments by saying that youre fat, of ugly, or you hate your hair. learn to be happy with yourself, and not always need the compliments of others to get yuo through your day.

its definetely normal. especially for a guy. theres nothing to worry about. it is kinda weird, and may make you a little uncomfortable around him for a while- but you'll bot h eventually get over it. but remember to not say a word to your parents about it- hes depending on you not to. good luck.

I have been with my boyfriend for nearly 3 months now. I know, its not a long time at all but he and I are already in love with eachother. We had this connection right off the bat and we just clicked and have been pretty much inseperable ever since then.
The only issue is he is 6 years older than I am. I'm still 16. So that makes him 22 (if you were too lazy to do the math). I'm sure by now you are all thinking that he's in it just for the sex, but really he's not after that. And I'm sure you are all going to say "Well you don't know that" but I do.
And I'm going to say he's not like your typical 22 year old at all, he is totally different. But I'm sure you will say "All girls say that", but trust me, I'm not them. I've "been" with older guys before and I can tell if they are fake or not. I've been around ones that wanted sex and told me that they weren't interested in it. So, I know that he's not in it just for the sex. If he wanted that, he could get it anywhere else, I'm not saying this just because he's my boyfriend - But he's freakin' hot. Trust me, he's got plenty of girls that would be willing to be lined up to get a chance with him.
I have sort of told my parents about him. But not the whole story. My mom knows that he is 22, but not that I am dating him nor that I am in love with him. And my dad knows that I am in love with him, but doesn't know that he is 22 or that I am dating him. I believe he suspects that I am, but doesn't know for a fact. **My parents have never met him***
I was talking to my dad and he said that he would be willing to meet him. He had shared a story with me about when he met my grandmother (my mom's mom) and she didn't like my dad because he's Puerto Rican and he only wanted to get in my mom's pants, take her money then divorce her. But my dad told her otherwise. My dad told me that if he can stick up for what he believes in, then he would have respect for him. And that's true, that is how my dad is but I'm still scared as to how he would react when he finds out he is 22. I know that he (my boyfriend) would tell my dad that he loves me and that his intensions are good, but my dad can be a hypocrite sometimes.
So I guess my question is, how do I tell my parents that he and I are dating?
Should I even tell them that we are or should I make my boyfriend ask my parents their permission to date me?

well, this is kinda tough. ive been with a guy 16 years older than me- but things never got to the point where he met my parents. in fact, none of my boyfriends did. so, i might not be of great help to you- but id sayhave him ask your parents to be able to date, tell him to make ure he tells them how much he feels for you, and how you really think you can make things work. im sure if yuor parents see how much hes wanting to be with their daughter- they cant help but give you guys a chance. good luck hon, and i hope i helped!
In PE, we're swimming. I was wearing a two piece bathing suit for the first time, and it was a bit embarassing. All the girls were staring at me and moving their eyes up and down my body. And I'm not just imagining it, either. What is this? Is this a bad thing?
well, think about it this way- if you saw an unnattractive person in a swimsuit- would you want to look more than once?- i mean, they obviously liked what they saw- not saying theyre gay or nething- dont take it that way- i mean, obviously- they might have even been a bit jealous!- id say nothings wrong except they wish they had a bod like yours. lol. hope i helped, and show 'em what youve got, sista!

cut out words from magazines that describe you- like, maybe - princess, diva, rebel- stuff like that. magazine clip outs of cute guys, or cute hairstyles, clothes, etc. also- you can hang cute little key chains from pins scattered across the board. go to a neighbor's yard and pick some cute daisies, or other kind of flower ( just dont get caught!)- you can pin those up, and in the fall, you can even use leaves to border it. just be creative, and make it 'you'. hope i helped .good luck.
i always sweat when its hot.. but who doesnt. but its always me who gets sweat marks under their armpits (i do wear deoterant)so i always have to change my shirt just awaiting it to happen again or put on a jacket so its not noticable bc it wouldnt go through the jacket, but i mean who wants to wear a jacket during the summer? summers coming up and i dont know what to do to stop it before im emarrased while im playing with friends and i raise my hand or something and theres a big ring of sweat... HELP!!
i have the same exact problem. theres nothing you can do to prevent it. its hereditary. somewhere down the line someone in your direct family has the same problem too. my momma was the one that passed it on to me. id suggest applying baby powder to your underarms right before going out- after deodorant, of course.wearing light colors always helps. and definetely dont wear shirts that are too tight. they will cling to you, and thts what causes the rings in the first place. tank tops are always good, because they dont cling to your underarms. wear cotton shirts because they breathe, and if you carry a purse(i cant live without mine!)- carry one of those small deodorants in there- that way- if need be- you can stop in a bathroom- dry off any excess sweat, and reapply a new coat. hope i helped! good luck.
man there's this "click" at my school that i'm not apart of and lets just say their names are tina and megan. they think they own everything they come up with! i mean like they put their name like this .name*. i mean just because they use that does it mean it belongs to them? they're calling me a biter just because my cousin changed my sn on my myspace and on my msn! now they keep on harassing me about it! i mean me and tina used to be best of friends until 6th grade when she started hanging out with 7b girls. and megan doesn't even know me that well. she is such a bitch! i don't mean to be rude but like it's just what she is! what should i do? i mean they think they own everything they start using! like they got mad at my close friend just cause she started using a bag from LeSportsac. is it right that they torment the people who aren't in their "click"? what should i do? should i tell them to back off? or should i tell them taht everything they use isn't just for them? i seriously need some advice!

seriously- tell them that they really, truly have no lives. if theyre that obsessed about dumb stuff now- just picture them all in a trailer park with 13 kids- because thats exaclty how they are going to end up. theres no way they can tell you not to wear something- thats rediculous. people just listen to them because its the 'right' thing to do. but there is nothing about them that makes them right. they really truly are lames. ive never heard of anythng so dumb. theyre thetype of people that as soon as theyre out of high school, and have no one left to torment arent going to know what the heck to do. but let them learn that on their own. as far as for now- id say do exaclty what you want- and GO AGAINST what they do, and what they dont like. dont be like everyone else, or otherwise they'll always think theyre the stuff. hope i helped.
okay so when i wear tampons i almost always use the "heavy" ones because i don't find the "regular" ones protect me as much. but when i take out the "heavy" ones (after 7-8 hours) they are sometimes not fully absorbed. are there any risks in this?
no, there isnt any possible way for this to be any kind of risk- but i woulr reccommend using the regulars- but changing them every 5 or 6 hours. they say you can leave them in up to nine hours, but there have been alot of cases with woment wearing them as long as 7 hours and getting tss. i would suggest sticking to the regulars because they pose less health risks in the first place- and changing about every 5 hours. much more safe. hope i helped!
