orphans answered Tuesday June 6 2006, 11:42 pm: I used a spray thing that that numbed my throat when I had a raw throat, it tasted like cherry (random note), about a year ago.....I forgot what it is called, but if you go to Rite-Aid (or any Pharmacy), I'm sure you'll find plenty of good things that will work.
If it is for your teeth try Orajel (I think that is what it is called). My friend tried it and she said it worked. I hope you feel better soon!
Good luck :] [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

Many intellegent people have died from a brain infection that started with a tooth. Also the most common reason people overdose on pain medication accidently--is because of a toothache. lulabelle answered Monday June 5 2006, 11:51 pm: There is an essential oil that will work for this and it is clove oil. This is a derivative of the clove spice that cooks use when cooking ham. It completely numbs the gums and some dentists use it for tooth aches and gum diseases. It is an anesthetic and can be used in the treatment of food poisonig and even help keep strep throat and staff infections from taking hold. You can purchase it in most health food stores in the vitamin section. You simply take a couple of drops and put it on the offending area and before you know it you won't feel a thing. It will also aid in healing whatever is causing the pain. This essential oil can be helpful to you in many ways besides your painful mouth. I do feel for you. I hate it when my mouth hurts. Good luck and I hope you start to feel better soon.
GC07 answered Monday June 5 2006, 10:38 pm: Just a few days ago, I had a huge cold sore on my gum that formed into a gash. It hurt so bad. I used Orajel swabs. It completely numbs it - not to the point of drooling everywhere but to the point of great relief. It's fast working and it doesn't taste bad either! Within two swabs - my mouth was back to normal completely! You can buy Orajel at any drug store like CVS, RiteAid etc. You probably can even get it at Giant, Shoppers, Safeway or Kroger. Any place near you. I hope I helped and I hope you're mouth feels better! Let me know how it goes! -GC07 [ GC07's advice column | Ask GC07 A Question ]
